BHM2K8: AYO (Nigga) Technology

I'm guessing you guys have heard that Timbaland is going to be dropping the first "mobile-only" album ever, via Verizon. Essentially, he will be touring on this Verizon Mobile Studio Bus, and collaborating with various artists. The fruits of their labor will then be put out to V-Cast subscribers like days after their completion, and after this project is up, a compilation album will be released.

Talk about nigga technology! Such a sad state of affairs, that the physical medium is so overlooked that news of mobile-only material is coming. The thing is, the fact that these cuts are only available to Verizon users cuts out a serious chunk of listeners. And, if you use a different service, will exclusive Timbaland material really make you switch?

Having a nigga like Timbaland, who has helped shape the current sounds of R&B & Hip-Hop, is a dope thing, no doubt, but this is just ripe for bootleggin'. And what happens when one of these tracks gets leaked to radio? Niggas will want to buy this, whether it's iTunes or whatever - but you are saying "nah, nigga, you gotta wait". Sounds kind of counter-productive to me.

In any case, big up Timbaland - will Jay-Z or Skillz be on the bus at some point?
