Genji Siraisi Surviving Freedom Album Info

Groove Collective's composer, producer, programmer, performer and one of the founding members, Genji Siraisi, has a new project dropping next week entitled Surviving Freedom (Uncensored Remixes & Naughty Bits), which is an extended remix EP of his 2007 album, Censorsh!t: Pt.1 Bad Monkey. Fans of Groove Collective take note: this is a hard left to what he was doing with them. Loads of heavy IDM tapestries are woven on here, as we are treated to some glitch-hop, downtempo, ambient and minimal tracks from both Siraisi and an assortment of producers. Check out the tracklist:

1. “Ring Free Baby (Balun "Next Summer" Re-Interpretation)”
2. “TransfiguRingFreeWish (Pushtobreak Remash)”
3. “Wishing In Solitude (no luck club Mix)”
4. “Life As A Bird”
5. “Four Letter Scan (Q-Burns Abstract Message Remix)”
6. “I Used To”
7. “Surviving Freedom (Alex Moulton Mix)”
8. “Surviving Freedom”
Tracks 9-12: bonus four-part exclusive DJ Set recorded under Siraisi’s Pushtobreak moniker

I've been out of the IDM loop for a minute, but cats like Q-Burns Abstract Message are very familiar to me, and his flip of "Four Letter Scan" is a nice, mid-tempo funky house vibe. The no luck club remix on this is an interesting, jazzy track with some crazy drum work. Not crazy like "glitching all over the woofers" crazy, just some dirtier, snappier vibes than what you'd imagine. The whole disc has something for everyone who digs the leftfield Electronic vibes, but the real treat is the exclusive live set that Siraisi does under his Pushtobreak guise. Dude is all over the place, sonically, but everything is tied together by some wild digital string.

Fans who love hearing that quirky, experimental shit, I say grab this up when it is released digitally on May 20th on Expansion Team Records.
