Ill Bill The Hour Of Reprisal Cover+Tracklist

"This is Ill Bill, fuck a tel-e-vision, this is cable!" That's one of the lines from Ill Bill's verse on Company Flow's "Simian D" that got me open the first time I heard it, and him. Since then, dude has done a lot, and is gearing up for the release of his sophmore LP, The Hour Of Reprisal, and features a hefty list of collaborations, from Raekwon to Bad Brains, and even comes with a DVD featuring Bill rippin' the stage at the legendary CBGB's in NY...

2. Doomsday Was Written In An Alien Bible
3. Trust Nobody
4. A Bullet Never Lies feat Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks
5. White Nigger
6. My Uncle
7. Riya feat. HR and Darryl Jenifer of Bad Brains
8. War Is My Destiny feat. Immortal Technique and Max Cavalera of Sepultura/Soulfly

11. Too Young feat. HERO and Slaine of La Coka Nostra
12. Pain Gang feat. B-Real of Cypress Hill and Everlast of La Coka Nostra

DJ Khaled ft. T-Pain & Kanye West "Go Hard": Sounds just like you'd expect it to, for good or ill.

FRAK "Jockin' Frak"

FRAK "Jockin' Frak" (prod. by ChaChooKa): I'm not that up on FRAK, nor am I entirely certain that this is forreal, but I like hearing artists send-up shit that's not even out officially. FRAK, while not being a dope MC, definitely comes with the fire ("you're as fake as a Fox News report"). OK, maybe that's not super firey, but let's just have some fun with this.

Maybe the heads at FRAK Music will keep going with shit like this?

EDIT: I've been trying to decipher how legit this all is. In the three e-mail blasts I've received in the last hour or so, they've included this tidbit of info:

This is just the beginning of heat we will be throwing at you in weeks to come in build up anticipation for FRAK Music CEO, FRAK's debut album & FRAK Music's debut release; F-R-A-K: Infinity. The LP will be distributed by Koch Records, & have feature appearances & production from the likes of Snooze, Asher Roth, Paul Wall, ChaChooka, Dina Rae, Tony Rivera, Gorilla Zoe, Karinne Steffans, Wordsworth, KJ, Haze, Ode, Master 3, Revel X, DJ A-Trak, Mike Elizondo, Brooke Hogan, Katt Williams & notable others

I'm so skeptical, but I'm biting, because I need something to do. Let's play.
EDIT: An e-mail has been sent to Koch just for some insight as to who this artist is. More details when I get 'em.

Missing ELements #1

Black ELement "Ride It Out" (prod. by Rami Afuni): Black EL is dropping A Major Minority on September 18th, and created a boatload of joints for AMM. Obviously, not all of them made it, so in his Missing ELements series, he will be leaking out tracks that didn't make the cut every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (say word). Peep Black's words on this joint:

"Whenever an animal is backed into a corner or it's life is threatened, we have the instinct to fight back. The instinct is to survive and with war plaguing our nation over the last 40+'s years with pointless conflicts we as a people finally begin to seek for change. From generation to generation, though the technology of the weapons has changed the result and heartache stays the same. Families having loved ones fighting for a guy whose a million miles away, just so his son's trust fund can get a little bigger. War no matter the time, it effects us the same way until we can't take it anymore, until we ride out!"

Again, say word, and keep it locked!

This shit cracked me up, once I heard him drop the "damn, why she wanna stick me for my paper" in the hook, as well as the lil' touches, like her speaking about hitting her on her hip, and the beeping and ringing of a phone going on. Really well plotted out.

Coldplay ft. Soulbrotha "Viva La Revolucion (Viva la Vida II)": Houston's Soulbrotha raps about The Crusades from 3 different perspectives. Seriously. Over Coldplay's latest single. Don Rimini "Nervous Breakdown"

Don Rimini "Nervous Breakdown": Many of you probably first heard Paris, France's own Don Rimini remixing Young MC's "Bust A Move" (which is available here); following this up is his recently-released Kick 'N Run EP, which dropped on Delicious Vinyl's new label, Delicious Gutter, which focuses on those dirty, filthy, grimey Club beats. This EP is a twisted blend of Hip-Hop, Electro and all things funky cooked into a hyper stew. I just got the EP in the mail the other day, and it puts you in that mood to go buck wild. Fans of that glitch-y Club sound, DJs who need something fresh to blow a crowds mind with, or someone just looking for beats to get them moving, Don's got what you need.

Bay Area DJ D Sharp hit me with this on the casual yesterday. I noticed So Much Silence posted this up when it originally dropped earlier this year, but I also think more heads needs to peep this. While some DJs might just throw out any old beat, it seems like D Sharp really tried to flip beats that echoed the feelin' that the original had. It's a dope blend tape for heads who dig the late, great Jay Dee and loved Jay-Z's lyrics on American Gangster.

Joell Ortiz Shouts Out RTD!

You know, blogging can be a thankless thing sometimes, especially when you're not one of the "bigger" sites out there (whattup Eskay, Shake, Rizoh, etc). It's almost like an "also ran" kind of thing, so when a nigga who you appreciate as an artist takes the time to link to your blog, it's always a good look! I posted up G-Spot's ill Carry The Torch 2 Mixtape, thinking "yo, this is hot, I bet the heads who peep out RTD will be all over this". Never in my wildest dreams did I expect Joell Ortiz to shout me out, from his blog!*

I'm not walking around with a big head or anything, but yeah that is some real cool shit. Shouts to Joell Ortiz, and keep checking his site out for his insight on life, Hip-Hop and everything in between.

El Michaels Affair "Walk On By": One of my good homies was looking for this tune "Crazy Love" by this artist Osunlade. I found it on a Ubiquity compilation (Rewind! Vol. 5), but then realized that the intro tune on this is the El Michaels Affair flippin' "Walk On By". Had to share this gem with the masses, on the account of this being one track that Isaac Hayes made memorable.

Santogold "Creator (Mr. Curtamos Remix)": Lovely lil' edit of a banger I found over on the dubstepforum. I literally deleted my dubstep blog in an attempt to consolidate my fire. The bass in this is PERFECT, shouts to Curtamos!

Re-Up Gang ft. Joss Stone "Celebrate"

Re-Up Gang ft. Joss Stone "Celebrate" (prod. by Maestro): An unmixed, unreleased version of a joint that was to be put out on the Re-Up Gang compilation, but got held up for sample clearances. Kind of sad that the unreleased/iTunes joints are doper than everything on that CD.

[video] West Palm Beach Police Beating

About 10 seconds in; completely unnecessary:

EDIT: For those of you in the comments who seem to think that the cops are somehow justified in this, why did one resign and two got put on leave? Was it because the robber (who's actions I do not condone) was somehow "deserving" of being beaten while restrained, even if he attempted to get their pepper spray? Give me a fucking break.
