Queen Latifah "Jersey"

Queen Latifah "Jersey": Yes, my NJ love is still going strong. With Tony D's passing, I've been on some very pro-New Jerz shit (Noz sees it); I can't help it. Whenever my hometown, Trenton, or my state was shouted out in tracks, I always got open. In speaking to my boy Kris Kay, I realized us NJ niggas are just like that. The whole nation shits on Jersey something heavy, so we have that tough skin/"see, we CAN pop shit" thing in us. He was mentioning that, on Naughty By Nature's "Craziest", he would wyle out when his city got shouted out. Made me think of the New Jersey Drive OST, which was a huge part of my mid-'90s Hip-Hop love. Not just for "Can't You See", or that Ill Al Skratch joint, but for shit like hearing the Queen namecheck Bordentown (still random as shit to me to this day). Classic compilation. Here's a few of Hip-Hop's nicest, from NJ, and on that soundtrack. We run New Jerz.
