Knocka ft. Ron Browz & Young Truth "Heavy In The Club" [clean \ dirty]: Looks like someone didn't get the memo? I don't subscribe to the idea that one track can totally shift the culture, and this track is undeniable. Niggas is salty at Jay, but someone has to do SOMETHING about this movement...

Take It Personal #18 |
Barely legal, aka the 18th episode of the Take It Personal podcast. All that I ask is that they break down "D.O.A.", which has happened - among other things. Good thing to freak with after this 40. Enjoy!

Jay-Z "D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune)" (Instrumental) |
Jay-Z "D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune) (Instrumental)": I thought I was done with this, but after seeing this new post from HHNM on my RSS, Hov pulled me back in. I have a feeling that someone pieced this one together, but this is all any MC needs to catch wreck over the track of the last 48 hours.
EDIT D. Omen commented that he's the originator of this instrumental... although its just a good loop, which I figured as much. Will update once I get a proper instrumental of this. MCs could still get theirs off this...

[video] Pollyn "Gave It Up" (Live @ KXLU) |
Dude hit me like "this ain't exactly Hip-Hop", but like my homey Dart Adams knows, we ain't just Hip-Hop here at The Dub. We rock all flavors; this is a great coolout track - grab a cold one and vibe out to this performance:
The original version is taken from Pollyn's This Little Night, which I now need a copy of.

Jay-Z "D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune)" |
Jay-Z "D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune)" (prod. by No ID & Kanye West): Here's a radio rip (thanks PreZZure) of Jigga's new street single... a track that just got pulled back like 20 times on Hot 97, and had twitter on smizzy. Bloggers mad, niggas wondering if autotune is truly dead, Ron Browz hurt. Enigmatik live-blogged the funkery. Will update with CDQ when it comes out (we're watching you, NMC)... EDIT OnSMASH liberated a CDQ version. Props to Enigmatik for hipping me to Legend's leakage. Duly updated... NOTE this is an unedited version; the version blasted previously had DJ Clue's name edited out.
FINAL EDIT?? YN has liberated the DIRTY, mastered version, straight from Guru. Thanks, RapRadar!
EDIT Updated with a high quality, 4:12min radio rip via Dre.
EDIT Funkmaster Flex and Mister Cee discussing this killed me. Judging by the chatter, Hip-Hop needs more events like this. "You bloggers are going to be mad at me, but you took a short today..."
EDIT Jay-Z's post-game interview
EDIT Updated with a clean, unmastered, "No DJ" version of this track has leaked overnight/this morning, via Miss Info & Lowkey. I'd feel stupid even putting CDQ on it, because CD quality wouldn't sound that off. My DnB engineer nerds know what time it is. Enjoy it sans Flex and Cee going in over it, and I imagine the proper CDQ will leak on Sunday...
EDIT Sean Fennessey dissects "D.O.A." for Vibe.
EDIT Took out Kanye's name from the credits, because Andrew said so.
EDIT Ivan of HHIR hit me with this post, exposing the sample used in this (no, it's not Steam); this, folks, is exactly why No ID has been one of my favorite producers for so long.

While I'm GLAD the Spitzwell Brotherz got at me about their Premium Blend mixtape, I wish they had hit me up back in March, when this dropped! DJ E$ comes correct with the cuts, and these guys not only spit well, but have a knack for picking some interesting beats. Their sense of humor is linked so closely to their skill. Wicked blend.

Mary J. Blige ft. Drake "The One" (prod. by Darkchild): Something else leaked yesterday before Jay-Z bogarted the game. This is a club bangin', Auto-Tuned romp from Mary and Drizzy. Why Mary is using Auto-Tune is confusing - she can sing! Maybe Jay is onto something...

Fabolous ft. Jay-Z "When The Money Goes (Remix)": Remember this? Looks like Fab ended up securing this for his album. How he only got a hook and not a 16 from Jay is beyond me, but he's spitting like he don't need no featured bars, even from the nigga who's tryna kill Auto-Tune.

This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of June 3, 2009 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary.
This week's commentary focused on the recent so-called "reverse racist" controversy of the Sotomayor nomination for the U.S. Supreme Court, the passing of academic Dr. Ivan Van Sertima (R.I.P.) and some other things here and there.
We had a great interview with author Thembisa Mshaka about her latest book about the ins and outs of the entertainment industry for women (and just people in general) called "Put Your Dreams First: Handle Your [entertainment] Business".
Some of the topics we went over with Ms. Mshaka included how a lot of women are in the entertainment business behind the scenes, the importance of having a solid mentor for assistance in getting into the industry, the mentality of the "microwave" (a.k.a.) way to stardom and how that is false, balancing your personal and professional life and a lot of other interesting things!
Due to the length of this week's interview, we do not have new Black Agenda Report or Direct EFX segments this week.
Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast here on BlackRadioIsBack.com - all of the shows are clean/radio friendly.

RIP David Carradine |
Damn. The early word was that David Carradine, star of Kung Fu and Kill Bill had comitted suicide, but now I'm reading that the 73-year-old actor died of natural causes in Bangkok, where he was set to film a movie. Dude was the epitome of bad ass, from being a young grasshopper to a cool old dude. Rest in peace.
EDIT BBC has picked up on the story, as has TMZ. Story's still developing...
EDIT Via FoxNEWS:
Carradine, 73, was staying in Bangkok while shooting a movie. The film crew became aware of his absence when they went to dine out at a restaurant yesterday. When a producer went to his room, he discovered that the actor had died.

Apple Juice Orchestra "Abacus": You might remember Apple Juice Kid from his recent work with Camp Lo, 6th Sense and Tabi Bonney; he (along with a talented group of musicians) has embarked on a new phase of his work, dubbed the Apple Juice Orchestra. Jana Privette's vocals remind me of the Trip-Hop I used to fuck with back in the late 90s, but this is much more organic - not the dusty loops of Portishead or Morcheeba. Really uplifting shit, at least on this track. I can't wait to hear the rest of their album! 'Nuff respect to Jr. for this one!

Mos Def ft. Slick Rick "Auditorium" |
Mos Def ft. Slick Rick "Auditorium" (prod. by Madlib): Yes, you read that right. The Boogie Man meets The Ruler over what will definitely be one of my favorite tracks of the summer. Never in my life did I think that two of the illest MCs to do it would rock together on the same cut. It sounds so effortless, too. Wikipedia states that this is set to drop on June 9th, while NME reported today that The Estatic dropping in August? Maybe its because of the leak...
EDIT Peep Stones Throw's post on The Estatic. They have this dropping on June 9th as well. I'm copping this whenever it comes out, regardless.

SoulStice Beyond Borders LP Info |
Back in November of 2008, I hit you with the DJ Denox-produced "Crash The Party" from SoulStice, which flipped remixes in different languages. 12.) Better Way - SoulStice and Wordsmith (Maryland)
13.) World Star - SoulStice, Zap Mama (Belgium / The Congo)

Cassie ft. Busta Rhymes, Day26 & Red Cafe "Must Be Love (Remix)" |
Cassie ft. Busta Rhymes, Day26 & Red Cafe "Must Be Love (Remix)": I've been a champion for this track since it first leaked. When I tried to get Diddy to remove himself and put a more capable rapper on this track, I wasn't expecting Bussa Buss (he does his fucking thing, though). I really didn't want to hear SuperBitchAssNess Day26 or fucking Red Cafe ("what else?!?") on this, either. It's almost like Cassie shouldn't have been on this at all - maybe he should've thrown Busta, then Fabolous, then Jadakiss or Styles P. Do I have to A&R what could've potentially been the summer jam of 2009?
Props to Mr. X.
