EMS x RTD: ThrowBack Thursday Friday 008
Revalation "When Your Blood Runs Cold": You gotta love how Rev hit me with this extra early b/c he'd be out of town yesterday, and I plumb forgot it was in my inbox. Sorry fam! More words from the god: "This week is another gem off of "The Push Back" Mixtape, a compilation of old tracks, collabs and unreleased material from me. This time around I take it back to High School which I hated. Most people loved it, I couldn't fuckin' stand it or the people in it. Especially my high school "whore" sweetheart...lol. You'll see what I mean, just peep this 3 verse masterpiece over Cam'Ron's "Down & Out" and tell me, what you gonna do When Your Blood Runs Cold?"; gotta love it.

Dallas Penn gives the internets an all-access pass:
DP and I spoke for a bit today on the phone - you think dude is getting up? You don't even know the half of his activities, and I know... I don't even know the half! Keep your eyes peeled to dude's work.

Juan Epstein LIVE (6/24/2009)
I've been a growing fan of Juan Epstein over the last year or so. I caught a little late, but once I did the knowledge and listened to everything Ciph and Rosenberg have been working on, I became an instant fan. These guys put in work, and remind me of niggas I would like to hang out with and shoot the shit.Sometime in 2008, they spoke on recording an episode of Juan Epstein in front of a live audience. And now, on the 24th of June at the 92Y Tribeca at 7PM, Juan Epstein will be recording LIVE! There will be DJs and MCs in attendance, but I don't have a boatload of info... as of yet. Tickets are available now - if I could be there, I would be there. This should be interesting! Props to Mic Sean for the heads up!

June ft. Alkatraz "Dimelo Papi"
June ft. Alkatraz "Dimelo Papi": Hah this is a hype track; reminds me of that instant-hype that early DMX tracks would give you. June's working of the drum roll into his lyrics was ill, and while I didn't know what he was saying, that 2nd verse was sick. This should be a track you throw in the Jeep and blast - LOUD!Shouts to June and Buck.

Huey ft. Juelz Santana & Bobby V "PAYOW!"
Huey ft. Juelz Santana & Bobby V "PAYOW!": I actually dropped this in last week's playlist, and forgot to do a specific drop on it. This is possibly the funniest Remedial Rap track I've heard in a bit. Forget the fact that Huey twerks that Auto-Tune... dude is definitely "harmonizing" about his pipelayin'. Bobby V's chorus is the real capper - the fact that dude is making a hook like "you don't know I got that PAYOOOOW!" sound like the hottest shit out there. I could've done without that Juelz cameo, but I get it. Shouts to Michelle.

BuckMarleyXXX.com Presents We Got Next Vol. 1
I had no idea Buck Marley was from Jersey (Union County, whuddup!?!?!); he's been doing the blog-thing for about a year and a half, and he's been making a name for himself. This is the first (of many) compilations he's put together, featuring a batch of artists you mess with. Mixed by DJ Tech Support, its full of exclusive, dope music - including a dope outro cut! Don't sleep!DOWNLOAD BuckMarleyXXX.com Presents We Got Next Vol. 1

Daniel Merriweather ft. Wale "Change (Hans Beck Remix)"
Daniel Merriweather ft. Wale "Change (Hans Beck Remix)": Hans Beck = Sam Han (aka @caughtintheweb, the producer of the Danyelliott podcast) and Charles Beck. They cooked up this remix for the RCRD LBL/Daniel Merriweather Contest; Mark Ronson and Daniel themselves will be picking the winner, so good luck to these Hans Beck fellows. This is pretty smooth - got a nice, fat bass and the mix really touches on the melodies in the track. Need some more of this, Sam!

FuseBox Radio (Week of June 17th, 2009)

Direct mp3 Download (right click and "save as")
Direct mp3 Download Backup (right click and "save as"; via Blip.TV)
This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of June 17, 2009 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary.
Our commentary this week focused on the shoooting incident by a white supremacist at the National Holocaust Mueseum in Washington, DC and the racial repercussions beforehand and after wards along some other things here and there.

This week, we had a great interview with independent Hip-Hop and Reggaton crew Lokixximo (http://www.myspace.com/lokixximo) .
Some of the topics we covered during the interview included information on Lokixximo's family & musical influences as Hip-Hop & Reggaeton artists (especially being Bronx, NY representatives), the crew's success as a purely independent entity as a label with international touring, musicial collaboration and major sponsorships (and what other musicians can learn from their work and struggle), some upcoming mixtape and album projects in the future and a lot of other things!
Due to the length of this week's interview, we do not have new Black Agenda Report or Direct EFX segments this week.
Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast here on BlackRadioIsBack.com - all of the shows are clean/radio friendly.

Just saw this post over on Nah Right, stating that graf LEGEND, Iz The Wiz, finally succombed to his struggles with kidney failure. Prolific isn't even the word when speaking on Iz's contributions to the world of bombin'; dude is an icon, and anyone who has or is trying to get their name up should study his legacy. Rest in power.EDIT KING's Iz Eulogy.

Brown Bag AllStars "Dumbin' Out"
Brown Bag AllStars "Dumbin' Out" (prod. by maticulous): Gotta love the Brown Bag Season. Day 11 sees BBAS "dumb out" over a nice, funky beat. This beat is kinda upbeat, which is a poor contrast to the cloudy skies in the tri-state, but not every day within the season will be sunny. With cuts from DeeJay Element, though, the grey skies won't stop the shine from this one!

Homeboy Sandman "Sand Is The Broham"
Homeboy Sandman "Sand Is The Broham": Check out this "Lark In My Go-Kart" murderation from the Homeboy Sandman. Dude's flow reminds me of Das EFX if they had crazy vocabulary - don't ask, I'm still waking up. As you can see by the cover, this is taken from the Summer With The Goons mixtape from Internet Goon; this tape will feature cats like PreZZure, D. Julien, Jasiri X, Wax, Lyriciss and others, and I imagine its gonna be kinda ill.

Icadon "I Did It Myself" (prod. by Rockwilder): If you been sleepin', you wouldn't know that Icadon's Mr. Digital is out now on Amaglam Digital. This one of those monstrous tracks, but its got those slower-bops... fire up something mean and throw this one in the whip, early.

Mariah Carey "Obsessed"
Mariah Carey "Obsessed" (prod. by The-Dream & Tricky Stewart): I'm guessing this is the track that Dream spoke about on the Def Jam conference call; this goes at Eminem, and is the first single from her Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel LP. This premiered earlier today via many radio stations - what say you?Props: YK2 Daily.

With all of life’s ups and downs, it feels like music is my only escape. Thank you to everyone involved especially RL and Paul “Gooch” Cantor.

June ft. Kool & AB3 "Obnoxious"
June ft. Kool & AB3 "Obnoxious" (prod. by Ron Browz): Buck Marley has been doing a bang-up job of covering The Month of June; while I haven't POSTED all of the joints, if you peep the .zip files I include in the daily playlists, you'll see a grip of them. He passed me this Ron Browz-produced cut over today, and its interesting... that bassline sounds sick right there. That sound is not typical to Hip-Hop, but I am feeling it. I might need that instrumental...

The Paxtons ft. RAtheMC, AP & Te'Luv "Just Tonight (IGetPaidInOochieWally Mix)": Dave hit me with the new remix for your whips - nice dash of nostalgia for the Hip-Hop heads out there. You can cop the "Just Tonight" single right now via iTunes - I suggest you guys do that!

Brown Bag AllStars "Uglyface"
Brown Bag AllStars "Uglyface" (prod. by marink): Latest edition of Brown Bag Season; this track is named the way it is for a simple reason... did your face screw up when you heard that beat? What about when you heard one of the sick lines? Either way, that's what you did - made the uglyface. BBAS ftw!

F. Stokes "Pretty Shit"
F. Stokes "Pretty Shit": Here's another cut from the homey F. Stokes; this is one of those tracks that I can't do anything else but listen to when its on. It's one of those gritty, real life situation type tracks - topic is domestic violence, but in the sense that we're hearing both snippets of the ensuing argument as well as fragments of what's going on, mentally, during said argument. Thought provoking shit. Stokes hit me with an e-mail detailing himself. Dude keeps it way real. Check it out.

Offshore Drilling On FrostClick!
Earlier this year, I featured FrostWire when they featured Black ELement's A Major Minority project on their ill P2P site. Over the last few weeks, I've been in talks with peeps over at FrostWire (whattup Kademlia?!?!), who spoke to my homey Hav about Offshore Drilling and possibly putting it on FrostWire. And sure enough, after what seems like a bit of back-and-forth making sure we had all ducks in a row, FrostWire has featured Offshore Drilling, and offered it up for download! I did a nice lil' write-up over there, touching on the project, but if you check this site (or many of the blogs who bigged it up - thanks!), you should be up on it. It's just dope to have a dope project that I helped put together not only getting that love, but making marks outside of my normal circle of life. You feel me?And remember when I spoke on Offshore Drilling hitting the CMJ Top 40 Hip-Hop Charts last week? I found CMJ's Replay blog, which has a .PDF of that week's journal up (here's a mirror just in case that disappears). And just so you know - this ain't the end; it's definitely just begun. Keep an ear to the ground.
EDIT Here's a pic of Offshore Drilling from FrostWire's welcome screen! Props to @gubatron.

Articulate "The Illest Out"
Articulate "The Illest Out" [dirty \ edit]: Instead of just doing a regular freestyle over Jay-Z's "D.O.A.", Artic flipped it into a Bmore Club slamma. It just sounds fresh off the rip - talk about a wake-up call for Monday morning! Articulate threw on that producer's cap, just to show you niggas that its not just him being ill with the pen. Trust!

Lil' Wayne "Kobe Bryant"
Lil' Wayne "Kobe Bryant": I'm not a big fan of Weezy, and I dislike Kobe even less. Aside from all of that, you gotta give props where props are due. Kobe finally won a championship by himself, and no song is more fitting that Weezy's pause-worthy tribute to this era's top shotta.Well, maybe "A Milli", but that's if you're with Kobe's trophy wife at the bank.
EDIT And while he's being very humble, I can't resist:
