Trends "Day By Day"
Trends "Day By Day" (prod. by The Beat Show): Following up The Electronic Tape, here's the *bonus* single from Trends' The Best Of Trends tape, which drops on the 28th of this month. This is some hard love shit - like "damnit, I love you, bitch!" type shit.

DJ Rasta Root The Rest Of Dilla Vol. 1
Here's a fresh mix of classic Dilla jawns (coming from the producer angle, just how I like it) from the homey DJ Rasta Root. A lot of my favorites are on here, including Phat Kat's "Nobody Care About Us", Slum Village's "What Love Is", and Dilla's "Won't Do". Classics.Gotta shout out DJ Vin Roc for passing this one on, and shouts to Flawless Hustle for the back cover.

Make Da Trap Say Rave
DJ Mighty Mi "Make Da Trap Say Rave": Here's a massive blend from Mighty Mi, flippin' OJ Da Juiceman's ignorant trap anthem into some certified club bangin' funk. Oddly enough, I wouldn't be able to fuck with the instrumental, but through some dopeboy nigga nonsense over it? I'm all for it. Christ.Shouts to Miss Info for this one.

PenDragon Homerun King
Peep that new mixtape from Bmore's PenDragon, featuring the homey Articulate and a bunch of other ill spitters, as well as beats from the mighty Rickie Jacobs. Oddly enough, I've been revisiting Season 3 of The Wire, so this will be good background music for that...DOWNLOAD PenDragon Homerun King

Cayoz ft. Praverb "For The Love"
Cayoz ft. Praverb "For The Love": P Viz just hit me with this cut from Cayoz' Mixed Vibes mixtape, with the two of them tacklin' the instrumental for Little Brother's "We Got Now". Good to hear P back in the studio after 8 months (!!!) off; he's contributing to a forthcoming RTD project, as well as a possible collabo jawn with Cayoz. Keep it locked!

Myk Dyaleks The Butterfly Effect
Myk Dylaeks of the Brokn.Englsh camp has a new mixtape for the masses: The Butterfly Effect, which is an ill title, considering his Chilla Than A Catipilla mixtape from last September. This project is entirely produced by the homey Deal The Villain, so expect some classic soundscapes thrown under dude's ill rhymes. This will only be up for 12 hours, so grab it quick. Kam Moye "Step By Step"
Kam Moye "Step By Step" (prod. by D.R.): Here's another leak from another MYX Music artist. Kam Moye's Splitting Image album drops on October 27th, but you won't find this fire joint on it. I love how D.R. flipped the sample in the beat, and Kam attacks with fury. Word is Kam and D.R. got selected by Grey Goose Vodka as the North Carolina reps for their Rising Icons campaign. Congrats to them for that! Keep your ear to the grindstone for more info and leaks from Kam's album.

Spoke In Wordz "Right Now"
Spoke In Wordz "Right Now" (prod. by Kid Hum): Kid Hum's working on a new compilation entitled Wrighterz Block, showcasing his recent experiments in Logic production, as opposed to rockin' the MPC and his vinyl collection. This is a departure from Offshore Drilling, although Hum said he will include a few sample-based tracks. It's interesting to hear homey rock these beats, they have a definite bounce to them. Word is that the name of the project came from Spoke In Wordz, and it just made sense for this cut to be the first leak from it. Rock to this, and await more.

When Keepin' It Swag Goes Wrong
There's nothing more un-masculine then harping on how another man dresses - and capturing your conversation on video. Peep the irony of the first wepisode of "Swagg or Fagg":
I applaud them combating the tight pants shit, but really, "swagg" is the wrong term, no matter how "catchy" you think this shit is.

FuseBox Radio (Week of August 12th, 2009)

Direct mp3 Download (right click and "save as")
Direct mp3 Download Backup (right click and "save as"; via Blip.TV)
This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of August 12, 2009 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary.
Our commentary this week focused on Hip-Hop "Beef" in the YouTube/UStream generation, the U.S. "Town Halls" about Health Care and how they're becoming a huge barometer of the issues people still have with race & class in this country, the passing of Eunice Kennedy Shriver (founder of the Special Olympics) and some other things here & there.

This week, we had in interview with independent Hip-Hop MC LuGuz (http://www.myspace.com/luguz).
Some of the topics that we covered with this talented perofrmer included his background in music and Hip-Hop, his influences, the latest LuGuz mixtape projects (The Rock Premier 1 & 2) & upcoming album, the New Jersey Hip-Hop scene, working as an independent MC in the internet age successfully and some more!
This week we don't have new Black Agenda Report segment due to the length of our interview. The Direct EFX segments will return at the end of the HBCU's college summer break period in September 2009.
Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast here on BlackRadioIsBack.com - all of the shows are clean/radio friendly.

N.O.R.E. ft. Jim Jones & Nina Sky "Shoulders Move (DJ Ted Smooth Remix)"
N.O.R.E. ft. Jim Jones & Nina Sky "Shoulders Move (DJ Ted Smooth Remix)": I've been messing with the resurgence of Ted Smooth remixes since Cipha Sounds blew up Ted's "Blame It" blend earlier this year. I loved the original "Shoulders Move", and this '90s-leanin' flip has me buggin' out in my cubicle. I'm gonna have to get a lil liquored up and get my groove on to this.Shouts to Splash.

Sheen Brothers Scumbag Funk Vol. 1
The Sheen Brothers is an ill collaboration between Cosmo Baker & 4th Pyramid, and the Men At Work reference is the shit. I'd try to explain it, but the info in the blast I got says it all: A duo of slicked-out sleazestars tuned into the greasy funk and drippy disco sounds that make girls lose control and guys feel like macks hit the stage in style to turn the party out. Unbeknownst to them, the two hit on a virtual party rocking monster machine that’s no joke. With Cosmo on the ones and twos and Pyramid on the MPD, these two have smoothed out their own brand of sexy dance floor flavor, what they like to call Scumbag Funk, and the people want more. What can they say…it’s a Sheen thing.DOWNLOAD Sheen Brothers Scumbag Funk Vol. 1 (mirror)

LL Cool J "Billie Jean Dream"
LL Cool J "Billie Jean Dream": I peeped this the other day, and I actually like what LL did. It looks like he's running a Michael Jackson Tribute Competition through his Boomdizzle.com website. You can either remix an MJ classic, do a photo montage set to music, make your own video to an MJ song or make your own original MJ tribute track. You get link love on Boomdizzle, or "B Famous", which could do wonders for anyone, especially an up-and-coming cat. Check it out!

Quite Nyce & Raydar Ellis "Clap"
Quite Nyce & Raydar Ellis "Clap": If you follow this board, you should've already been up on "The Spirit"; Quite & Raydar dropped their Champs vs. The League album back in March of this year, and that spawned them getting loads of rave reviews, as well as working with Geoff Barrow of Portishead! On week 4 of Quite's Hello, My Name Is Quite Nyce mixtape promo, it makes sense to revisit these bangers for those who might not be up on 'em.Don't forget, the mixtape drops on August 18th, with his Through My Eyes album dropping on the 25th!

A&E "Little Young"
A&E "Little Young" (prod. by M-Phazes): It's funny that this dropped; I was talking to SBK earlier today. He told me I was overusing the term "fail" (which is true), and I told him he was overusing the 90s (I think he had some OC on at the time). How wild is it that Masta Ace and EDO G linked up to form A&E. This track is what you'd expect from two vets - them chanting down all of the "Lil" and "Young" rappers out there. Peep the tracklist for their Arts & Entertainment track, which drops on October 6th:1.) Hands High (produced by M-Phazes)
2.) A’s &E’s f/Marsha Ambrosious (produced by Baby Dooks)
3.) Fans f/Large professor produced by (DJ Supreme One)
4.) Little Young produced by (M-Phazes)
5.) Ei8ht Is Enough (produced by Frank Dukes)
6.) Good Music f/Posdnus of De La Soul (produced by DJ Spinna)
7.) Pass The Mic f/KRS-One (Produced by Double-O)
8.) Reminds Me (produced by DJ Supreme One)
9.) Rounds And Round f/DOITALL of Lords Of The Underground (Produced by DJ Supreme One)
10.) Over There (produced by M-Phazes)

REAL TALK: Joulz Il
My boy Joulz il has been frustrated... he won't talk to me about it in depth, but I know he has. We put out The il Before The Storm, and it seems like its been lost in the shuffle for whatever reason. I try to not dwell on things that didn't go my way, just like I don't like over-hyping my triumphs, but I think some of the words from this post migth be echo'd in the convos of many an MC in 2009:For me, it always seems as if Hip Hop comes with the jagged pill of reality for you, if you don't have a huge following or if you don't have the money to really get your thoughts out to the masses. Its almost a daily struggle not to get jaded when I know for a fact that I really don't have the resources to get the music out to the people that I would like to have it. That's really the most frustrating part of it all. With all the new mediums of putting music out and all the millions and millions of DIY emcees, Im starting to feel like Im getting lost in the shuffle. This is a discouraging notion. How do you continue to do what it is that you love when what it is that you love doesn't love you? Even typing that, I had to laugh. The greatest exercise in futility for me is being an emcee who has something to say, has the ability to say it, but yet has no one who will listen to what he is saying. I often wonder if I should just go to the microphone one day and just spew out the most unintelligible and non-tangible gibberish and then immediately put it online and pub it as the greatest song ever. Send it to the djs and press them to play it. Submit it to every blog and hope that they post it up. What if THAT'S the song that people start to pay attention to me by? How would I feel? Would I be able to live with that? Honestly, I cant say that I would.
It's a tricky situation these days, and I honestly feel bad for talented individuals who can't get their spit out, or get their bars heard. Dumb fans need teaching? I don't know. I'm trying to figure it all out myself...

Shit I Can't Find
Nothing pains me more than not being able to find certain things. I end up hooking people up a lot - but the shit I want, I end up using my patience and waiting a looooooooooooooooooong time for what I am looking for to surface. For example:
Can someone help me find an MP3 of the Offbeat: Red Hot Remixes EP? I had a friend who owned this vinyl; it includes a Seba + Lotek remix of "Krazy Groove", but the real joint I want is DJ Spooky's "Lulu's Peace Mix" of DJ Krush's "Ryu-ki". The Offbeat compilation from the Red+Hot organization was the shit, and I remember loving this mix... like 12 years ago. Trying to find the MP3 (legally and illegally) has been a big FAIL, and it looks like I'll have to hunt down the vinyl, cop a device to convert to MP3 and do the damn thing.
I have no problem buying shit. And Bret Hart was probably my favorite wrestler until the nWo surfaced in the WCW. I've been getting into eBooks, but for some reason, I can't find a normal .pdf of his Hitman: My Real Life In The Cartoon World Of Wrestling. I can find .ePub files, .mobi and other shits that involve me downloading some other reader - this is before we even break down the asinine prices for these purchases. Anyone know where I can score a normal PDF of this?
If ANYONE can help me out, hit me at khaldub@gmail.com.
