V.S. "Things Are Changing"
V.S. "Things Are Changing" (prod. by RADA Tha Rebeliouz): And here's today's wake-up call. This premiered on DJ Scratch's "Please Listen To My Demo" show (which is a major feat in and of itself), but the actual track is a banger. Dude's actually rhyming about shit that is pertinent to life. Whether its music or just trying to live, you can feel what V.S. is kickin' over that slick beat from RADA. I've been saying this a lot, but this is some perfect, crispy Fall music. Favorite time of year.Shouts to DJ SAV*ONE for helping spread that true shit.

Mario ft. Gucci Mane "Break Up (Ted Smooth Remix)"
Mario ft. Gucci Mane "Break Up (Ted Smooth Remix)" [clean \ dirty]: YOU REMEMBER! On the real, "Break Up" is one of my joints for no good reason. I wanna say its just the beat, but its the whole track, even ignant ass GUCCI! Ted Smooth, remix and blender extraordinaire, flipped Missy Elliott's "All N My Grill", and even does that repetitive snare hit thing, and revamps this one. Excellent blend - for more, get familiar.

Scuba Aesaunic EP [preview]
Check out this four minute preview of Scuba's forthcoming Aesaunic EP, which drops on Hotflush (HF024) on October 19th:
Here's some more info on the EP:
I've always enjoyed Scuba's work - different styles, dubstep-wise. Scoop this one up, early, and keep your eyes peeled for more from Hotflush.

Hotflush Recordings presents a new EP from Scuba, following on from the success of his Klinik/Hundreds and Thousands 12” (HF022) earlier this year. Over the five tracks Scuba covers the full spectrum of his sound, developing the house and techno influenced dubstep that has been such a feature of 2009 and wading into new territory with Symbiosis, a half-time 170bpm excursion that has been supported by dBridge and Instra:mental on their seminal Autonomic podcast.
Tracklist:
A1. Aesaunic
B1. Flesh Is Weak
C1. Reverse
D1. Golden
D2. Symbiosis

DJ Eclipse's "Halftime Show" Tribute To Roc Raida
(Pic from DJ I-Dee's twitpic page)Spotted this tribute show over on Steady Bloggin'; I'll just quote what I saw over there:
On Sunday night I threw together a short Roc Raida tribute set at the beginning of my Sirius show. On Monday night Premier and I held our monthly “Like They Used To Say” party at APT which we dedicated to Roc Raida and were able to raise over $4,000 for his family. On Wednesday night I wanted to do a proper tribute show so I contemplated on what to do. As I compiled every song I could that Raida was featured on (production or scratches) I thought it would be better to reach out to his friends and get their take on what the man meant to them. What started out as a dozen or so people that I intended to talk to snowballed into phone call after phone call of friends wanting to share stories. Please forgive me if I left out someone’s name (or misspelled) in this email, but following is a list of who called or showed up at station (no particular order).
Boogie Blind, Daddy Dog, Roli Rho, Kuttin Kandi, Riz, JS-1, Jab, Sugar Cuts, Neil Armstrong, Fat Fingaz, Q-Bert, Mixmaster Mike, A-Trak, J-Rocc, Babu, Rhettmatic, Scratch, Revolution, Rahzel, Bobbito, A.G., Lord Finesse, Dr. Butcher, Vin Roc, DJ Grouch, Freestyle, Spictakular, Shortkut, Supreme and Tame One.
We ended up going an hour longer then we should have. In between calls I found some old cassette tapes of radio show appearances by the X-Men. I hope you enjoy listening to the show as much as I did. Thanks to the whole Halftime crew for making this run smooth; Skizz, Petey Cologne and Marz One. To everyone that showed up or called in….I love you all.
R.I.P. Grand Master Roc Raida. We’re going to miss you.

The Jake x RTD Records
When producer extraordinaire The Jake asked if I'd be interested in putting out his "A Life So Sweet" single digitally on RTD Records, it was a no brainer. He sent me rough copies of "A Life So Sweet" and the B-Side, "The Essence", and I was in awe. Amazing stuff. Here's the full tracklist:
1. Life So Sweet ft. Bashwon, Mallz, Crew54, Kakalak GAT, Epiphany Blu, & Lex
2. Life So Sweet (Instrumental)
3. The Essence ft. Rashid Hadee, K-Hill, Keisha Shontelle, Diablo Archer, & MicSource
4. The Essence (Instrumental)
5. Cakin' (Good Money) ft. T.W.I.C.E. & Deal The Villain
This is the promo for A Slice Of Cake; I don't have release dates for either release, but hold tight, fam. Soon come.

F. Stokes x Dirty Disco Kidz F.I.L.M.
It's been a minute since I've posted the music of F.Stokes; the heads from The Dirty Disco Kidz hit me up with their remix of his Death Of A Handsome Bride EP, and its sick. Forever I Love Madison combines the raw lyrics of Stokes with the throwback to the future production of DDZ. I put my stamp on it, but then again, who the fuck am I? Check this out NOW, then send the creators of this some love.

LONG HAIR DON'T CARE "OK People"
LONG HAIR DON'T CARE "OK People": Here's a lil' something different for you. LONG HAIR DON'T CARE = Sam Han, aka 1/2 of Hans Beck and the producer for the Danyelliott podcast, and Victor of Boy Crisis and Das Racist. Sam said it sounds like "Quasimoto meets Silkie...or something"; I can see that, but I'm thinking more like Aphex Twin on less acid and more herb. It has some of those somber IDM melodies in it, with those skittery drums that you like, with that subtle vocalizing overtop. It's awesome, and I want to hear more!

DJ Spinna The Boogie Back - Post Disco Club Jams Cover+Tracklist
DJ Spinna has compiled a dope 2xCD compilation (one mixed, one unmixed) for those of you who remember the post-Disco days, or for you crate-diggers who appreciate the sounds from that era (think Michael Jackson Off The Wall for an idea of the sound). Has some dope elements from the disco scene, but infuses that electro boogie right alongside, you know? Spinna takes it back to 1982 with the block-rockin' mix, and CD2 has a host of gems that no one should be without!CD 01 - Mixed by DJ Spinna

Jern Eye "Champion"
Jern Eye ft. Rakaa Iriscience, Nightclubber Lang & Noelle Scaggs "Champion" (prod. by Illmind): As you should know, Jern Eye's Vision album is on its way in October. Before that drops, though, he will be unleashing The Eye Exam, a mixtape precursor to the LP. This cut, plus 19 other unreleased, rare, and remixed tracks (as well as some from the album) make up the whole of the tape, and if more of it sounds like this track? I cannot wait! Keep an eye peeled for Eye Exam when it drops...

Fink "Dub It All (Sideshow Sees It All In Dub)"
Fink "Dub It All (Sideshow Sees It All In Dub)": Not often that I get some true dub, and after skimming through Dub Echoes recently, I had to post this. "See It All" is the second single from Fink's Sort of Revolution album on Ninja Tune. One thing I did not realize (or maybe I forgot) was that Sideshow is Fink's dub alias, which has been getting tunes signed alongside Appleblim and Martyn. This is a true dub excursion - all moody and groovin' riddim. Fink's "See It All" single drops on October 19th, and features remixes of "See It All" from D*L*I*D and Emika, among other things.

Gripz "Rap Revolution"
Gripz "Rap Revolution" (prod. by Anno Domini): Here's another lyrical exercise from Gripz. This is very hot off the press - he sent me an e-mail with this like 2 hours ago, and said he finished it not too longer before he sent it. Now here's the kicker: his Poetic Literature mixtape isn't out yet (he says its set to drop on Friday) - this cut is from Poetic Literature Pt. 2! You know how we do. Be on the lookout for that, and vibe out to this.

Dominique Larue ft. Kim Joyce "Okay"
Dominique Larue ft. Kim Joyce "Okay" (prod. by Illmind): Here's the first single from Larue's From Ohio With Love album; for those of you wonder where the female MC is? Hell, she's been in Ohio the whole time! From Ohio With Love is available now, and features beats from Kev Brown, J.Rawls & D\Will, and features ill verses from Cyrano, Radius and others.Sounds like homegirl also has a mixtape with DubMD dropping in October? Ill.

A.R.M. "Slow Your Roll"
A.R.M. "Slow Your Roll" (prod. by O-D): For those of you who are wondering how the Ugandan Krukid and the Ghanese M.anifest sounded when they first met, "Slow Your Roll" is what you need. I love hearing artists' jumping off points, and now to have heard where they ended up... charting growth FTW.

Blitz Scores Bronx Princess
Tonight (9/22/09) on PBS, a documentary named Bronx Princess debuts. Blitz The Ambassador provided the score for the doc; here's a video of him in the studio, composing what became the score for Bronx Princess:
Here's what Blitz had to say about the doc:
Shouts to Alex for this one.
Here's what Blitz had to say about the doc:
I related to Bronx Princess because it's about a young Ghanaian-American who's trying to reconcile her growth in America with her family experiences in Ghana. So, one thing that was really important in writing and composing this score was trying to capture that authentic sound and do it how it is done back home
Shouts to Alex for this one.

Amen ft. Saigon "What You're Looking For"
Amen ft. Saigon "What You're Looking For": On September 30th, Potholes In My Blog will be dropping Queens Boulevard, an album from Amen. I've not watched more than one episode of Entourage, nor am I a big fan of Saigon, but the title is a reference to Entourage. This track is hype, though, and PIMB is fam, so keep it locked!Via Potholes In My Blog.

Danny! "Scrambled Eggs"
Danny! "Scrambled Eggs": Although I'm being told that his Def Jux album will be out by the end of September (aka next Wednesday) by hook or by crook, but Where Is Danny? I gotta give it up to homey rapping about his breakfast. Or is he?Now I'm hungry. As a matter of fact, with the last line of leaks from him, I've been hungry after hearing each one. Sloppy Joes for breakfast? Yes, let's. In the mean time, I'm trying to make sense of it all. Or I'm annoyed. Either way, I don't have the whole album to listen to, so really, what the fuck?

Mike Beatz "50/50"
Mike Beatz "50/50": Shouts to @numonics for hitting me with this new single from Mike Beatz. This is my first time hearing this South Florida MC/producer, and I'm definitely intrigued. In a few weeks, he drops his mixtape, I'm Thirsty with the one and only DJ Absolut (and illRoots, I'm seeing), and it looks like he has a tape with DJ Young Cee dropping before that!? "50/50" will be released as a single in November on numerous digital retailers, so enjoy this sneak peek...

Mariah Carey "Inseparable"
Mariah Carey "Inseparable": "Obsessed" was cool, but I'm no fan of "I Wanna Know What Love Is" in any incarnation. This album cut is more my speed. There's even a slight nod to Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time", but that mid-tempo vibe is what I like hearing MC over. With one sitting, its my favorite track, but I'm not really writing home about the album. To each their own.Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel hits stores September 29th.
Bonus Beats Mariah Carey "More Than Just Friends"

Wordspit "Run This Town Freestyle": Lyrics are no problem for Wordspit; he attacks Jay's latest single with crazy bars. His first solo show since the release of The Coolest BBOI Stance is this Saturday (Sept. 26th) at Pink. If you're in the area Saturday, I suggest you check his show out.

Shane Mosley Confronts Mayweather
How I paid $50 (I know, I know) for last night's PPV event and the most exciting part of the entire 3+ hours was Shane Mosley confronting Mayweather post-fight about some alleged disrespect he felt Money May gave him:
Max Kellerman, you look like a sucker.
Sad thing is, I'd probably buy a Mayweather/Mosley fight, but I need to see something more than what piss-drinking Marquez brought last night.
Mayweather seems to be studying his time in the WWE to help him hype these fights, though.
