Jay-Z, Bono, The Edge & Rihanna "Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)"

Jay-Z, Bono, The Edge & Rihanna "Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)" (prod. by Swizz Beats): This cut premiered on the Hope For Haiti telethon that ended about 40 minutes ago. It's also featured on the Hope For Haiti album, which is donated 100% of its proceeds to various charities. Hit up iTunes to cop it. Donate some ends, cop a t-shirt - do whatever you can to help some human beings in a tight spot.

Shouts to UHTN for the MP3.

RIP Apache

Just saw this drop over on Nah Right. Damn. Remember when the above track caused a lot of static in the hood? Anyways, AHH has some more info on Apache's death and influence on the scene - definitely helped put NJ on the map with the Flavor Unit. RIP, Apache.

EDIT Robbie Unkut has more info on Apache's condition. And T.R.O.Y. has done an ill retrospective of Apache tracks.

Oddisee Odd Winter EP

Oddisee has been doing these ill "season"-themed EPs, and his "Winter" collection is available now. This has been an odd winter for a number of reasons - gotta pull through, though.

Oddisee's instrumental album, Traveling Man, is due out on vinyl on 1/26/2010, with limited-edition slimlines on 2/23/2010 via UGHH. Shouts to Put Me On It.

EMS x RTD: ThrowBack Thursday Friday 017

Revalation "Heart Of The City (Secret City Remix)" (prod. by Hitman Hires): Yeah, it's definitely not Thursday, but even if I HAD received this yesterday, by the time I got home and had my PC acting like it didn't know me, this wouldn't have gone up anyway. Not really a "ThrowBack" either, but it's a remix of a Commercial Interruption cut. Damn. We might need to rethink this whole ThrowBack Thursday concept - LMAO. Enjoy.

Brown Bag AllStars "The Workhorse"

Brown Bag AllStars "The Workhorse" (prod. by The Audible Doctor) [clean \ dirty]: And so, we reach the end of Brown Bag Season. This isn't the end of BBAS at all - just the end of this chapter. They got crazy exposure over the last year, and is well deserved, and from some of the things various BBAS members are cooking up on RTD alone, 2010 should be an ill year. Keep it locked!

King Britt ft. Astrid Suryanto "Now"

King Britt ft. Astrid Suryanto "Now": King Britt's final "conventional" artist-album, The Intricate Beauty, drops on 4/20/2010 on Nervous Records. Yes, you read that right. This won't be the last we hear from Britt, who plans on moving into more improvisational electronic composing. The way he made this album sounds crazy, to: he took tiny bits from random CDs and worked on the tracks in Ableton Live, and he plans on taking the bits that make up Intricate Beauty as a "live pack". What's great is that the timeless Soul feel that he infuses into his music is still very much in tact. Look to this one for more intriguing music for years to come.

Shouts to Justin for this one!

Skiggy Rapz "Hands Up"

Skiggy Rapz "Hands Up": This isn't the cut Reyn sent as the single; I can't help it though. Taken from Skiggy's 2009 Bang To The Boogie EP (which you can get on CD for $5 via using discount code LOVE), this is just some feel-good shit to kick the weekend off right with. I imagine dude does (or should) open his concerts with this one. The single "Talk To You Soon" sounds like John Mayer walked into the studio and put his vibes into the cut, and drops on iTunes on 1/26/2010.

Damian Marley & Nas "Strong Will Continue"

Damian Marley & Nas "Strong Will Continue": Here's the first rumored single from Distant Relatives, which HHNM says will be dropping on 4/20/2010. I'd be lying if I said I loved this. I'm intrigued, but not impressed. Sounds like the soundtrack to a documentary for some of the relief work in Haiti, for good or ill.

The Lessondary "Faded"

The Lessondary "Faded" (prod. by AEON): Last Thursday, I was streamin' like crazy; I had Jersey Shore on the one stream, and Donwill's Ustream up, and the Lessondary was going IN. They recorded a few tracks that night, and this is one of them. This cut features Spec Boogie, Donwill, Von Pea, Elucid and Che Grand beasting an AEON track. #sessiondary03 - hopefully Don's streaming tonight like he said he would.

Hit up the Bandcamp page to cop it - minimum donation is $5, which is a great price for a good cause... and great Hip-Hop.

Here's a lil' something special from DeepSpace's Escape Tape (mixed by DJ Nominal), which is still set to drop on on January 25th on...

Word is that the shooting for this video came together in like a day, and was completed really quickly. Shouts to L. Lawson at SoundWav. The video for "Payroll" should be here soon!

This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of January 20, 2010 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary.

Our extended commentary this week focused on the current tragedy with the earthquake aftermath in Haiti, including the current casualties, what are other countries going to offer in regards to accepting Haitians of all ages into their countries post-recovery, worries of profiteering off of Haiti's issues pre- and post-recovery, the ignorant statements of Pat Robertson & Rush Limbaugh and some other things.

We also talked about the current Cybersecurity Act of 2009 draft that's out in the U.S. now that could give the president the right to shut down the internet with their own definition of "danger", NBA Basketball player Washington Wizard star Gilbert Arenas' current legal troubles & how that ties in to Black Athlete stereotypes and other things here and there.

During this week's show, we had a great interview with Brooklyn, NY's own independent Hip-Hop MC G3MZ (;

Some of the topics we've touched base on included G3MZ's musical & family background, his current feeling about the NYC Hip-Hop scene for both good and bad & it's need to change, the lack of respect lately for lyrical MCs via the mainstream and beyond, personal and other politics of the music business, his upcoming mixtape and album projects, how he connected with the N.A.N./Elegant Hoodness movement and a lot more!

There is a new episode of Black Agenda Report in this week's broadcast but none for Direct EFX (due to not receiving before broadcast time).

Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast over at our official blog, - all of the shows are clean/radio friendly.

Nico The Beast "Triumph Freestyle"

Nico The Beast "Triumph Freestyle": This is taken from the Clean Guns vs. Wu-Tang project that's been a thing of lore, but is set to drop on 33jones within the next month. Fresh has all of the details for you.

Oh, and Nico is a fucking problem. Keep sleepin'.

Here's a cut The Custodian sent me, taken from DohBoi's Dollars Over Hunger mixtape. Doh linkes up with the BCGz for this anthem for most of the niggas I know out in the street guappin' up - nigga gotta eat, you feel me? Dollars Over Hunger CDs will be available in two weeks, with the digital mixtape on sale in four. Holla!

D.Julien's Fat Boy Radio Freestyle

Intuition ft. Slug "Buzzkill"

Intuition ft. Slug "Buzzkill" (prod. by Equalibrum): Feel like I just posted a track from Intuition; good music should be heard, though. Never thought about it previously, but these two are good compliments to each other, theme-wise. Different vibe than some of the other jawns - this would be a good track to chill to near a bonfire, with a bowl or some brew.

Girls Like Me
drops 1/26/2010.

Rihanna "Redemption Song"

Rihanna "Redemption Song": I'd go in on my feelings about this, but Meka said it all. Talk about a bag of fail for a good cause.

Jon Hope ft. Mike Maven "Average Joe"

Jon Hope ft. Mike Maven "Average Joe" (prod. by 6th Sense): Sense dropped the first tape in this series back in October '09, and is slowly leaking cuts from Volumes 2 and 3 - right now, "Average Joe" (whattup, Maven?) and Chip The Ripper's "Here I Am" are up on Bandcamp right now. I asked 6th when all of the cuts would be out, and he basically said he'd "deliver a goodie every couple days", so you should definitely keep it locked! Check the stream:

<a href="">Jon Hope feat. Mike Maven - Average Joe by 6th Sense</a>

Aside from this, 6th is also working on Outasight's album, which he's producing half of. I tried to pry more info out of him, but I think he's got it all locked up for the right time. 6th had a great 2009, so I can only imagine what 2010 will provide him. I'll definitely be keeping an eye (and ear) peeled.

Coki On Kiss FM (1/20/2010)

Last night, DJ Cable hit me up on twitter to say that not only was Coki on Hatcha's Kiss FM show, but that he dropped DJ Nappy's "Act A Fool" refix, which was the first THUGSTEP blend to be birthed, and was a mash of a nasty Coki tune. The haters good folks at dubstepforum provided an MP3 of the set, and sure enough, if you go about 14 minutes into this MP3, you'll get what you need. I'm so proud of Nappy - that's some major shit. I know the DMZ heads knew about his refixes when he first completed them and sent them out, but that's a large co-sign.

We got this, don't worry.

EDIT Here's a mirror.

Method Man, Ghostface Killah & Raekwon "Our Dreams"

Method Man, Ghostface Killah & Raekwon "Our Dreams": Word from nation is that this isn't to be out yet, but I'm glad that it is. That Jackson 5 sample is so crucial, and all three sound reenergized. This is the Wu many of us have been needing on their albums. Can't wait for their album.

Dharma Kicks

I've been a fan of LOST since the SE1 premiere, and never wondered why it took so long for someone to flip some Dharma kicks. I don't normally bug over sneakers, but I'd rock the shit out of these DHARMA INITIATIVE x Nike SB Blazer Hi's. They are pretty basic, with that khaki color of the jumpsuits the Dharma workers were made to wear, but here is my favorite part:

If you watch the show, and see how the Dharma-issued supplies and such are tagged, you should get that. Really subtle, really awesome - and eco-friendly. SE6 next month!

Shouts to nation, by way of Hypebeast.

Scanz "Lights Please Freestyle"

Scanz "Lights Please Freestyle": Scanz takes J Cole's "Lights Please" and twisting it into a whole new monster with this one. I had no idea homey had a weekly going down in Philly, either (Electric Butter); maybe I'll leave the house sometime and go?

Tanya Morgan "Gotcha Opin Original"

Tanya Morgan "Gotcha Opin Original" (prod. by nVMe): Mick Boogie, nVMe and Duck Down have a compilation on the way entitled Survival Kit, which shows a lot of today's finest paying homage to KRS-One and Buckshot, the legends behind Survival Skills. The leak (shouts to MAC Media) has TM's name right, but as you can see the promo art, they rock with the "Tonya", whoever that whore is. Anyways, enjoy this, and be on the lookout for Survival Kit, which drops on 1/21/2010, aka tomorrow, at 3PM. Boom.

[preview] Deadpool & Cable #25

Here's the Rob Liefeld-drawn cover for Deadpool & Cable#25. Looks like Cable's series is comign to an end, and the last issue will go to the beginning, telling the tale of "two mutants and a baby", showing how Cable rescued Hope when she was a baby? Weird. I'm not sure what issues #23 + #24 hold, but "Second Coming" will be upon us, and anything Wade-related is a must-read in my buying circle. Deadpool's also involved in the forthcoming Doomwar saga, among other bits.

Speaking of "Second Coming", I just re-read the classic "Dark Phoenix" saga from the early 80s, and have a feeling that Hope Summers = the new Jean Grey. Just saying.

This double-size issue drops in April 2010, and I saw this over on CBR; TDB has a number of other April 2010 covers featuring Deadpool. You see how like four Deadpoo-related comics are out on 4-7-2010? Damn!

Guilty Simpson "Before The Verdict (DTV Remix)"

Guilty Simpson "Before The Verdict (DTV Remix)" (prod. by Deal - The Villain): The one like DTV pulled the ill flip of Guilty's "Before The Verdict", giving the orginal a nice punch with some marching drums. Sounds like a dope B-side remix you'd hear in the mid-'90s. Why yes, EPic is a great example of DTV's lyrical skills, but don't forget - Deal does beats, too. Enjoy.

Scripts N Screwz "On 10"

Scripts N Screwz "On 10": Here's the newest single from this ill duo. Their The New Noise got a lot of praise, and they've got their new project, The Hangover, on deck. "On 10" might be my most favorite slang since "goin' ham". This one has a pretty ill feel to it - one part otherworldly bass, two parts banging on steel pipes and thangs. Shit's knockin'.

Donwill "I See You (unmastered version)"

Donwill "I See You (unmastered version)": Here's a cut I got sent last night but my PC wasn't trying to have it. Now my work PC is giving me one dumb issue... maybe it's not the machine, but the operator. Anyways, Don Cusack In High Fidelity drops March 23rd, and the promo wagon is in full swing. If you fucked with Brooklynati or dug any of the other Tanya Morgan-related releases, you need this. Period. Really smooth, great winter headphone music right here. Shouts to audible treats for this one.

Kosha Dillz "Jungle"

Kosha Dillz "Jungle" (prod. by Belief): Here's a leak from Beverly Dillz, which Kosha will be promoting on his recently-announced 30 city charity tour for Haiti relief; the goal is to raise $10K to help aid the victims of the horrific earthquake over there. Dude's already got Slick Rick, Del TheFunky Homosapien & Skee Lo showing up on various dates, so keep it locked to his MySpace for upcoming tour dates. Shouts to the Dutchmaster.

Daniel Joseph & Tommie Chase "Skyline Success"

Daniel Joseph & Tommie Chase "Skyline Success": Two of the mighty Elite Assembly family take Hov's "Success" instrumental and just go bananas. This is taken from their mixtape-in-progress, The Skyline. I'm sorry but my peoples > your peoples. Just sayin'.

Blitz The Ambassador "Emmett (S)Till"

Blitz The Ambassador "Emmett (S)Till": Here's a cut from the one like Blitz, who has been on a serious tear as of late. BTA gives us the history lesson on Emmitt Till, which is one that many still forget, especially in these days where a BLCKPRSDNT draws out the racial undertones that are alive and well within these United States.

Shouts to Alex at Move Forward Music for this one; I was an asshole to him earlier, and I apologize.

Truth Universal ft. Evelyn "Superdome State of Mind"

Truth Universal ft. Evelyn "Superdome State of Mind": This cut is taken from Truth's Polygraph mixtape, which is due out Feb. 2010, to be followed up by the Guerrilla Business EP, which is slated for a Spring 2010 release. T.U. goes in for the N.O. on this one.
