Black EL "100" (prod. by Durkin): This might be my favorite of the EL leaks so far. The low-end on this is crazy, and it's got a nice combo of electronics and live feel, painting a pretty ill bed for Black to black on. "Whether it was going to school on the other side of the state or living at home outside of the city, having a car was a necessity. No matter where I was, I would always drive to the city for work, leisure, inspiration or all of the above. It's helped me escape and has shaped me into who I am today. I could be a 100 Miles away, but I'm always coming back". This is the first single from Color Commentary, which drops on August 31st; the video for this drops Thursday the 26th, so keep it locked!
This does not mean the end of RTD by any means... just a difference of the post flow. More scheduled posts, which could end up being a very good thing. The Friday playlists will end up being posted later in the day, for good or ill. That might be the main letdown - but what can you do? Gotta make the bacon! Plus, this will actually allow me to do MORE writing - which could mean more interviews?! Who knows. Just wanted to give you lot a heads up!
Deal - The Villain "Push The Button": WOW! Dismantling Method Man's "P.L.O. Style" instrumental, DTV breaks his attitude and mental on the state of the game right now. The EA General truly pulls no punches, and I'm glad he's showing that so openly on this one. Kids gotta eat, but goddamn! More where this came from!
Rise of The Fallen 3 dropped back in April, and now the homey Megatron has dropped the fourth installment TODAY, featuring RTD-approved MCs like Hollywood Floss, hasHBrown, Intalek + Ritchcraft, Jones Andrews, Mark Milly and many more. Hit the jump for his write-up, tracklist and download links.
You've been seeing the videos for this, and now NJ renaissance man The ILLZ, who's stock has been rising as of late, drops the audio version of his In Between Video Series compilation with the backing of 2DBz, OnSmash and YouHeardThatNew, alongside Kristopehr Rey-Talley & Hot Mop Videos. Dopeski. Hit the jump for info on the project, a download link and ill back cover/tracklist shit. Jersey!
We previewed PIMB & Prefix's Summer Sampler last week, and you need to fuck with this. Right. Now. I mean, think about it: Von Pea, Stalley, Big K.R.I.T., YC The Cynic, Theo Martins, Co$$, Danny Brown, Moe Green, DaVinci, Intuition, Smoke DZA, Datahowler, Jon Hope and many more? You probably spent mad time in the Summer of 2010 listening to tracks from all of these cats already - grab this onestop shop of quality shit from all of them! Big up! Art by Theodore Taylor.
For Volume 5 of the FWMJ x J. Bizness 3P Series features Those Chosen, a trio who has done a bunch of fly shit - I mean, they've performed on MTV2, at CMJ, A3C and the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. I've heard them spit, and they're dope - real "true school" type niggas, and of course, J. Bizness is the business. Whattup, FWMJ!?

Bonus Beats Kingpen Slim ft. Edley Shine "21 Gun Salute"
Apollo Brown's The Reset is dope - I've been known to rock to quite a few tracks from that LP. Just something really nice to lay back to a sip something while surveying your block - or burn something while plotting your next move. It has some dope Soul-ful arrangements and a real overall backpack sheen to it. Glad we got the instrumentals for this album for $Free.99!

Killa Kyleon x Marcus Manchild "BMF (AMG Freestyle)": OMG it's AMG dropping atomic bombs over the "BMF" instrumental. Love how bottom-heavy that beat is, and Killa and Marc don't waste anytime, dog. Blast this while you count your stacks, then go cop something chunky.
previous Adub x Short Dawg x Killa Kyleon "Time To Get Money"
Promo for this FreEP has been going down kind of heavy on this end, so I'm glad that the BBAS has unleashed this beast from KONCEPT, which features beats from J57, Audible Doctor, maticulous, DJ Brace, & DJ Dyllemma, and rhymes from J57, Sene and Silent Knight. If you know how the Brown Bag gets down, you know this one is NOT to be toyed with.

Excel Cruz "60 Bars (The Only One)": Blast off. Excel takes one of the flyest beats of the last year or so ("Popular Demand") and goes ham. Period. Lyrically, dude is nice - you gotta really listen to pick up the gems he slides in there. Tough.
previous Excel Cruz "Working Out"
Kardi "Badd" (prod. by Kardi): Newest latest from Kardi's forthcoming mixtape, The Valedictorian. Interesting party track here, detailing the "conception, progression, and complication of a young and spontaneous relationship". He flips a sample from The-Dream into a pretty ill track you can get your rock to. Perfect compliment to the lyrics... dude kind of reminds me of Mic Wilson on this one, which is a great thing!

Today, Scripts n Screwz releases their new visual experimentation, ON 10, to the public. The video consists of 2 main scenes. First scene features a traditional graffiti wall that represents SNS' love for Hip Hop in its rawest form and the second scene introduces the “Outer Limits” hall which includes stock motion, a never ending pathway and a host of interesting camera tricks!
The video's director, Cody Stokes, approached the duo with an idea that soon after became a reality. Stokes is a brilliant film maker from St. Louis, MO., whose accomplishments include a mantle top full of plaques but most notable, the very prestige Princess Grace Film award. SNS and Cody Stokes have already planned on working on more videos in the near future.
“ON 10” is the lead single for SNS' upcoming sophomore album, The HangOver. The song basically represents the old saying, to the MAX. “When you think of volume, you have 0, 5 and then you have 10”, says Scripts of SNS. The song has been gaining plenty of momentum throughout the St Louis Metro-East area but Scripts n Screwz feel as if the best has yet to come.

Nucci Reyo "God Sent You To Me" (prod. by Killa): New Nucci, who says that this track is about "my strong belief that God created Hip Hop , I feel as though Hip Hop can be used as a tool to reach the lost for God. I am not sure when Hip Hop became a tool of the enemy , used to break down the moral fiber of our communities and to drive us into a deeper life of a sin but with the resurrection of Hip Hop we can also see the resurrection of the communities it has influence over. Those are good things and everything good thing comes from God".
Savant, Lanet, Louis Logic & Miss Flint "Star Of the Story" (prod. by LMNZ): Germany's own LMNZ flips some George Benson to allow these MCs to expound on their favorite ladies. This is a precursor to LMNZ' Worldwide Rap compilation.
If you need something ill to rock to during the day, grab this. The homey @Combat_Jack and a nigga who I feel is like an uncle to me, Dallas Penn, present The Combat Jack Show, which airs on PNC Radio Thursday nights, Midnight to 2AM. A lot of real talk, comedy and Hip-Hop.

Deal - The Villain "Say": DTV's been blacking out with the leaks, nahmean... you snooze alarm niggas need to WAKE UP! This quick-shout over a Dilla instrumental is "about the questioning, speculation, & misleading that often happens in life". Shitload more where this comes from - trust we.
previous Deal - The Villain ft. Tom Chase "Kung Fu Treachery"
Elite Assembly members Brokn.Englsh and St. Joe Louis have been giving away albums worth of music as of late, so when they drop some dope shit for a fee, you might as well grab it. These two new tracks were done with Jr & Ph7 and came out as a special 7" vinyl release, but now it's available on Bandcamp and iTunes. Preview them below, the support by dropping a couple of bucks for both.
Roc C "Get Em Got Em" (prod. by Soul Professa): No nonsense on this one - perfect tune to start your day with if you like keeping your face scrunched up. This is the first leak off of Roc & Soul's Summer Murda street album, which should be out very soon. Perfect cut - you need this!
MiLKMEN "Do This": Might need to rename #musicmonday into #MiLKmonday, as I've consistently got SOMETHING new from these two on Mondays. This cut has Red taking things into a slower zone, bringing a dope track... dude's got a great voice, and some real potential, Pop-wise. If you fuck with guys like Drake straddling that Hip-Hop/RnB line... sit down with the MiLKs and watch them do this.
We brought you SUPREME about a month ago, and Keon is already thinking about his next project, Just Cause, which is due out in February 2011! Here's some info about what to expect from it...
"Just Cause." is going to be a conceptual album inspired by A Tribe Called Quest's album "Midnight Marauders." The music/beats on this album will be purposely made for late night drives and/or in chill settings. The lyrics on this project are going to be displaying what a night in my life is like. The night will start around 7 or 8pm and end at 4am when I usually get home. Usually the beginning of my nights start with me getting off of work so of course the first track will be me getting off work, hopping into my car, and rapping about how much I hate my job. After that the album will go into plenty other directions that my night life sometime takes me.
Artwork by Joseph Mitchell; keep it locked to Keon's Bandcamp page for leaks and such.
Adub x Short Dawg x Killa Kyleon "Time To Get Money": Three beats body a track... I imagine for these cats, though, that ANYTIME is time to get money - wake up in the morning? Get money. Hungry? Get money. I like that attitude, too.
Kromestar "Can You Kick It?": You'd think, by the title, that this was a remix of the classic A Tribe Called Quest track, but no - Kromestar has dubbed out "Can We", the SWV cut that featured Missy Elliott during her initial producer/writer run in the late '90s - one of my personal favorite periods of music. I was going through a lot at that time, and one of the things that got me open was the Missy/Timbaland sound that was emerging. Anyways, this took me back, and that tough riddim Kromestar threw underneath this gem is priceless. Midnight sexing, trust we.
Last month, DJ Hotpoint blessed the 'Net with 140 BPM, Vol. 1, which features some slick blends inna thugstep vein, including beats and rhymes from Benga, Skream, Tempa T, Dizzee Rascal and more. He uploaded these on his blog, and I wanted to make sure we represented these on RTD!
- DJ Hotpoint vs Rusko, JME & Tempa T - Kumon CD (thugstep blend)
- DJ Hotpoint vs Skream & SLK - Hype Clap (thugstep blend)
- DJ Hotpoint vs Joint Forces & Dizzee Rascal - Stand Up Grizzly (thugstep blend)
- DJ Hotpoint vs Benga & Tempa T - Transform Hype (thugstep blend)
It's the 22nd of August, so of course the new Life & Rhymes of Ill Legit release is out. Volume 4 finds Illy locking horns with Scud One, Kid Static, Sense and plenty more. Collect 'em all - there's only, like... 16 of these left!

Lazy Sunday - since there's no Narnia on, you might want to light something up and listen to some forward-thinking Hip-Hop, by way of the .miDDLecLassmen and their new sleepersPRANK EP. Shouts to Ant THHE for sending this one over.

RoQ'y TyRaiD "Woosah" (prod. by Dn³): Never heard of RoQ'y before, and I'll admit, the Dn³ instrumental is what made me listen to this, but I'm glad I kept peeping this - RoQ has some shit going on! Some might remember this PHX lyricist as J RoQ, but over the last year he changed his name and has set to bring his "realirap" to the people. This cut is taken from his forthcoming New Millenium Man, and I can only hope that complete project is as dope as what he sent over.
Quake ft. Royce da 5'9 & Kayo "I Stand Alone" (prod. by Tone Mason): Quake's The Myth drops on August 31st, and this is the third single... and damn, it's a problem. Nickel Nine opens it up and murders his verse, with Quake & Kayo holding their own so properly. Something to vibe out to - has that laidback feel to it, but don't sleep on the lyrics! Shouts to Ritchcraft for this one.
The last Just Jam of the season went down earlier this month, and DJ Cable hit me with some audio from the night - massive line-up on this 35 minute MP3: DJ Smallz B2B Cable ft. P-Money, Blacks, Little Dee, Ruger, Kozzie & Fangol. If you're a Grime head, you already know what time it is - watch fi dem smashing "Sweet Shop" and Doctor P's "Marmite" remix!

Domo Genesis ft. Tyler, The Creator "Rolling Papers": Some new OF shit for you to smoke to. Or scheme on bitches to. Tyler produced this and is on the hook, and Domo coasts over this shit effortlessly. Love the way the shit rolls - its like a futuristic Cadillac ride through sunny LA. Or dirty LA. I've only been to LA once, so this could be the soundtrack to any number of spots. I'm rambling again, aren't I? Fuck with this, OFWGKTA. Rolling Papers should be out on 8/30/2010.
Bonus Beats Domo Genesis & Hodgy Beats "Who Dat?"
Bonus Beats Domo Genesis ft. Tyler, The Creator "Rolling Papers (Chopped & Screwed by Jay Reale)"
Deal - The Villain ft. Tom Chase "Kung Fu Treachery": Here's a cut I wanted to leak months ago - shit, I'm actually not sure when I got this. Big Deal Vader and Tombo Slice go ham over this instrumental, with all kinds of lyrical roundhouses and bodyslams for yo bitch ass! The end comedy is the funniest shit I've heard in a minute - just classic '70s karate flick nigga slicktalk, fuckboy. OOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEE!
If you're looking for someone to truly bridge the gap between "mainstream" and dubstep, I think some Pop star crooning over one of Joker's emotional dubstep journeys might be where to look. Dude's in a class by himself, and this week's episode of BBC Radio 1 Experimental featured Mary Anne Hobbs allowing Joker to drop a 45 minute "Ghetto Clang" mix. I've seen a number of sites post the entire show, but I had to rip the mix and present it to you, the people. Shouts to Passion of the Weiss for the MP3 of the entire show, from which I ripped this MP3.
Well damn. Outrageous Ashley hit me up about this cat Beville earlier today, and I must say, I'm glad we had a few random tweets about work and Jersey Shore earlier today. Like most of the Hip-Hop that's surprising me in 2010, Beville is like 19. If I had the means/juice, I'd put him together with like 3 or 4 cats his age, from around the nation, and make a posse cut... the youth is where its at right now! Anyways, No one making original tracks on this tape is allowed to buy beer in America legally, with some niggas being like 16, but you wouldn't know it. South Florida rhyming over some really fly beats - check how Johnny Ciphe flips that classic sample on "Time Machine". This isn't something to get hype to, though. Like, if you've got a bus or train ride to go on, do this: crack you favorite tobacco cigar open, load in whatever strain that gets you elevated, fire up that monster to the face, then go on your bus/train ride, and let this mixtape play front to back. Then avoid whatever destination you were planning on hitting and relisten to this. It's that good. Or maybe I'm bugging. But I don't bug over dope music - I bug over tomfoolery/fuckwadery... sorry, I'm derailing. Hit up Outrageous Ash's site and thank her for putting niggas onto this.

And now for something completely different...
Enjoy your weekend, fam.
Rickie Jacobs ft. Rotimi "My Time" (prod. by The Awesome Sound): "Being Honest" was the official single, but Air Jacobs is looking "his time" on the radio with this one. September 2nd isn't that far off, and with the tracks we've gotten from Air Jacobs so far, this project has been well worth the wait. Shouts to BuckMarleyXXX.
Muja Messiah "Gary Coleman" (prod. by Benzilla): Nice to hear some new material is on the way from Muja. His new album, M-16's, is due out on September 14th, both digitally and physically. Sounds like his style is progressing, building on the last bit of steam and consuming the game with his firey bars. Features on M-16's include M.anifest, P.O.S., Maria Isa and many more. Be on the lookout!
M.anifest ft. Krukid "If I Was King" (prod. by Blastah Beatz): Good to get some new music from the A.R.M. boys. This is taken from freetape for cheapskates, his mixtape that's set to drop later this year. Does exactly what it says on the tin - pondering what each man would do if they were king. At points this feels like something Wyclef would make, for good or ill.
MP3 via 2DBz.
The first thing that would pop into my head when someone said "halfway house" was those scenes in Double Jeopardy, which may or may not be an accurate depiction of what goes on in those institutions. Without going into crazy bits of detail, my boy DJ Nappy is on the tail-end of a harrowing experience that he's gone through over the last four years, and speaks candidly about the ills that he sees in today's halfway houses...
Back in February of 2009, WhyGee allowed me to create an album from a grip of tracks he had sitting unreleased. The result, the Boondocks-inspired The Saga Of Mr. Bitches got some good press on your Internets - so much so that a limited run is being pressed up. Last night, Why hit me with the above artwork, which was hooked up by Happy Little Trees; if you're looking for some work, hit her up - tell her @khal sentya! Hit up Why for more info on the Saga of Mr. Bitches CD release, if you're trying to get that.
Djezuz Djonez "Pride Freestyle": I hope you haven't slept on "Water Walker", but if you did, grab this and then check out that. Dude's a painter with words, and kills any beat he touches - this one is no exception. Oh, and peep this:
It's not a game! Stay tuned!
Dumhi ft. Scanz, Nico The Beast & Rich Quick "Sacred Papercuts": Philly stays going in, and this track should show you. I mean, shit, that line-up, over a fly beat from Haj? Murda. That's it. Cats giving you raw spit like this for free - make sure you're supporting, though! Via Dumhi.com.
Deal - The Villain "Midnite" (prod. by The ARE): With "Clay Davis" smashing shit yesterday afternoon, DTV is back like he stole something, out to "jap you outcha celery" over this ARE beat that you should be familiar with. Jackson Jones is still on the way, and has a shitload of material on the horizon, including more new and unreleased music, videos and all that. It's nothing. Watch out for "Free DTV" day on September 1st. Go cop EPic if you're feeling this.
Jazmine Sullivan "Holding You Down (Ted Smooth Remix)": This is ready for your Saturday night mixshows - Ted knows how to blend some classic sounds underneath some new school tracks.I'm not mad at Philly's Jazmine Sullivan at all, but for some reason I've never properly listened to her album... might need to fix that.
Cotdamn! Potholes In My Blog and Prefix have a special two-disc on the way, Summer Sampler, which features a virtual cornucopia of DOOOOOOPE talent, including YC The Cynic, Cymarshall Law, Danny Brown, Stalley, Theo Martins, DaVinci, Co$$, Smoke DZA, Von Pea and many more! This shit makes me want to get on some compilation shit for RTD! Potholes sent over a few tracks as a preview, check 'em out!
J57 ft. Sene, Co$$ & Homeboy Sandman "Still Phenomenal": Damn - it's not enough that J57 produced a disgusting underwater thunderclap of a funk track, he ropes in a crew of your favorite rappers. Then he has the NERVE to call it "Still Phenomenal"?! Good shit, love your style there, duke. This is the latest leak from Digital Society, which you can cop digitally via iTunes or on vinyl via Fat Beats (yeah, we know). Andrew Thomas on additional synth duty.
hasHBrown "Grand Champion" (prod. by Jett I. Masstyr, co-prod. by Chris Rockaway): Tough, tough track, taken from hasH's Break Something album, which is due out this winter. Sounds like some shit a nigga wants as their theme music. If I was a boxer, I might need to borrow this to get me in that right mindframe.
