In NY tonight,
Big Daddy Kane will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of
Long Live The Kane,
his debut album. The show will be star-studded, including guest DJs
Mister Cee and
Biz Markie, as well as Kane himself performing with
Connie Price and
the Keystones, the band he toured with on 2007's Scion Live Metro tour. Kane also said there's going to be a bunch of special guests.
To commemorate this,
Cipha Sounds &
Peter Rosenberg have posted
a new edition of Juan Epstein with BDK. I haven't listened to it yet, but I imagine it's a goldmine for those who grew up on Kane's memorable lines and classic swagger. If you aren't up on Kane, and say you are a fan of
Biggie or
Jay-Z, you need to fall all the way back, get some education, and then come talk to us.
