There was a time when I was on my dean as a blogger. At that time, I stayed hearing new Rasheed Chappell. At some point, I got a day job that kept (keeps?) my mad busy, but he's always been one artist I'd been looking out for, so it's dope that, in my own weekly game of catch-up, I get to experience a project like First Brick, which finds Rasheed linking back up with the legend Kenny Dope, seven years after Future Before Nostalgia.
For those looking for that real hip-hop shit, Ra and Kenny have you. This isn't just boom bap for boom bap's sake; Chappell is weaving tales, dropping jewels, and all-around making me proud to have been a fan back then to hear this right now.
