iLL-Omega Is Back With A New Instrumental Tape, 'Omegatron'

If you're looking for a batch sinister sounds for your Saturday excursions, iLL-Omega's got you covered. Fresh off an EP with Ray Strife, Omega's back with Omegatron, a 14-track instrumental release that's as dark as it is turnt. It's primarily of a hip-hop flex, although some of the more EDM-tinged trap tracks are nothing to sleep on.

You can stream that below; be sure to check out the Rocky's House Podcast as well, which iLL is a part of. Episode one is up now, and features DJ Say Whaat and DJ Itsjustahmad.

Ray Strife and iLL-Omega Are Doing Their Best to Do More Than Just Live

That headline is a part of the first verse that Ray Strife spits on "America," the opening cut from his five-track EP with iLL-Omega, Preface: I Will Never Be Beautiful. Along with "Never Cease," Preface is part of their prep for Go For The Gusto, which is due to drop this summer.

Gotta say, with the way I can be so in my own head sometimes, it's dope to hear someone like Strife express his own inner turmoil over these bass-heavy beats. And I will also put this out there: Ray and Omega are a pretty impressive rapper/producer combo. You might need to down a six-pack before listening, then drink another while listening. By the start of your third six-pack, this could end up being the soundtrack to the rest of your day.

Stream Preface: I Will Never Be Beautiful below, and cop the full release via Bandcamp. For more information on this release, check out The Wiztard.

Rocky x iLL-Omega - "Man Down"

Newest latest from the Cap City crew is from Rocky, a Trenton-born/Bronx-based rapper who's also the Cap City co-founder. "Man Down" (which is available for free download) is one for the ready-to-rumble crew out there. Just something about a cut that bigs up preemptive strikes that fits my mentality right now.

Word is Rocky and iLL-Omega have a joint project, King of Kings on the way. If you rock with this, get ready for THAT.

PREMIERE: Ray Strife - "Never Cease"

When I think of the cats I got wind of when I first really started looking at what Trenton was doing on the hip-hop tip, Ray Strife was one that came to mind. He's an interesting figure, too, considering that he has a healthy punk background as well; people forget how deep Trenton's roots go on that lane. Feel like I first saw Ray spit live during an early Garden Variety show in the City, and since then I've tracked his movements from afar.

Dude has a certain energy that many MCs lack; he has a way of hitting you with every word to the point that even if he's off his face, the impact is still slicing through you. I mention all of this to say that his new iLL-Omega-produced track "Never Cease" marries everything I feel I've learned about Strife in one package. There's the rowdy crowd chant over hypnotic drums and tiny melodies that you might only hear if you're lit off whatever substance does you best. Strife dropping David Duchovny references.

Word is "Never Cease" is taken from Strife's forthcoming album Go For the Gusto, which is produced entirely by iLL-Omega and will drop via CapCity. Keep it locked for that one.
