And here's another jawn from My Man Shafe that slipped by me. It dropped over on 33jones on the first day of Spring, and is more of that fly Funk/Hip-Hop flavor that you need on days like Sunday. All about that honey dip that's got you weak in the knees. If you're cuddle loving right now, take your shorty to the local discotech and shake a tail feather to this one. Who's That?! My Man Shafe "I'm Cookin'"

The boy Fresh hit me with Shafe's latest single from Who's That?! My Man Shafe..., which is now being held off until a release at the end of the year. Possibly. Hopefully. Rocking over a Budos Band sample, Shafe gets his cook on - but not in the Lil B #letthatboycook sense, the classic "we're marinating some serious funk" cook. No hard drums, which allows Shafe to get a nice flow overtop. Seasoned just right IMO. Homey actually performed this in Philly at The Khyber this past August, check the performance. Need that album, Shafe!

My Man Shafe "Street Funk"

After dropping "Look At Her" about a month ago, the homey Fresh slid this throwback JB's flavor to me yesterday. My Man Shafe has a knack for those dusty samples, and this one is a great example. Rockin' over "more bass than a dub track", this is straight up styling over some vintage Fawnk. If you needed a jolt in the morning, some shit to get you in the PROPER mood to deal with the hellish ills that encompass the everyday struggle in the urban jungle, or just life in general, you'd be playing yourself if this wasn't your soundtrack.

Word is another track, featuring Atlanta's Ajaray on the vocals, will be dropped, and then the Who's That?! My Man Shafe! album will be released. Keep your ears to the ground, seekers.

My Man Shafe ft. Zilla Rocca "Look At Her"

My Man Shafe ft. Zilla Rocca "Look At Her": Here's one of those cuts that might slip under the radar if you're not careful. Word from Fresh at 33jones is that Shafe is Philly by way of Buffalo (with time spent in Jersey), and has been working with Rocca for a minute. Not only has that lead to Shafe being featured on Zilla's (forthcoming) Nights & Weekends EP, but led to Zilla being featured on this cut (and producing a few cuts) off of Shafe's forthcoming Who's That?! My Man Shafe! LP, which 33jones will be dropping in August. By the sounds of it, Shafe knows how to pick those classic sounds - "Look At Her" is all lazy grooves, hazy guitar strumming, drunken horn stabs and whatever other 70's sounds he can throw in there. And it's all about the thoughts a male might catch when someone is scoping out a female - be it your female, or the female you're trying to creep with. Love this track.
