Trends "People Get Ready": I've always been leery of the term "electronica" - I never liked the way it sounded, and the fact that its such a blanket term really put me off. So when I got the e-mail about this track being a Rap/Electronica hybrid, I wasn't too thrilled. Diggin' into it, though, this isn't bad. Taken from Trends' The Electronic Tape, which drops on July 28th, and should be a nice mixture of Hip-Hop over electronic beats. What say you?

BOOGNIGHTS "Why So Serious?":This is either over that Fabolous track from his last album, or uses the same fire organs in it. I don't know much about dude, but if you're feeling this track, pick up his The ARTiste mixtape, which dropped in March.
Rowe Stussy "The Reason": If there's one thing I keep doing this for, its for that New Spit. Rowe had seen me covering the cats from EMS Productions, and wanted to make sure the balance of Boston Hip-Hop was intact. Rowe is 18 years old, and isn't on that diehard Hip-Hop enthusiast in a B-Boy stance shit. Dude likes telling stories, is a bit more laidback, but you know he's seen some ish, and is poetically giving you a taste of what he's experienced. Let the pianos caress you into a cocoon, then sit back and become entranced by his music.
D-Man "You, Me, Him & Her": Brockton, Mass.' own D-Man hit me with a couple of joints, and dude has potential. "I son rhymers, and take kids to school like bus drivers". What you think of these?
You know me, I'm always trying to shine light on the next cat, or that new cat. This dude goes by the name of FurSun, and is someone I've followed for a bit. He graduated from high school a few years ago, but even then he was thick into the rhyming and producing. Niggas wanna talk about Soulja Boy, but his rhymes and beats sound like a young nigga who doesn't know what he's doing. FurSun is on his grind with his, and it shows. He comes with a smooth flow, and has a range of bangers on the production side of things. He sent me a few cuts, and I was thoroughly impressed. If you hit his MySpace page, you can hear a gang of them ("Don't Bring Me Down" is an instant favorite, just for the catchiness of it). I love the fact that he's hungry, but is also grounded, showing love to his spot geographically ("East Coastin'") and I know, personally, that he's all about his family.
