The autumnal season brings all sorts of familiar and favorable things to mind. The changing colors of tree leaves. Pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks. Christmas music being played in department stores. Monday Night Football. And another sport altogether... Cuffing Season.
The hot "skin was showing" summer was jumpoff season, with casual hookups as far as the eye could see. But as summer winds down to a close it's in our very nature to begin preparations for the cold months ahead. The high holidays are meant to be spent with loved ones, or at least a warm body. For the record, I respect his decision(s), as being that free spirit is what makes DP DP, but I truly think the show, while great, is better with all the parts in play. This is the first time I've seen downloads for a Combat Jack show be over single digits when I get it. Almost a full year into their PNC Radio stay, CJ, Dallas Penn and the crew drop what could be considered their most listened-to episode, due to DDot Omen and this posting of Watch The Throne listening session audio situation (even though his review is no longer featuring those clips) (although, for whatever reason, he never spoke on the show when he could've). It makes sense - sites like kanyetothe were on the phones HEAVY (to the point where I couldn't even get in), and guys like Mike Dean and UHTN's LowKey all called in to make their points. There's also details on the #BYOBBBQ2, which goes down on the 20th of August in Bushwick, NY, with artists like Action Bronson, Maffew Ragazino, Danny Brown and more announced. This show is a perfect example of what the Combat Jack program is truly all about. You've got the prolonged intro, where bits of hilarity are used to break down the color wars within the Black community, with perceptions of talking white and other things to boot. Gems. More gems when D-Dot touches down and gives an oral history on his come-up through the game. So slick. Then Wais P brings that pimpnology to the foreground. We even get freestyles from both.
