Before dropping Escapism in 2Q 2012, J.Slikk flips a dope compilation of 13 tracks, featuring some unreleased cuts, mixtape jawns, new tracks, instrumentals and other cuts from guys like Cyrano, Junclassic, R.O.E., Rashid Hadee, SteadyFlow and plenty more. You guys might remember Madicinal Libationz, the Cy Yung & Dub MD project that found Cyrano going in over a number of Madlib instrumentals. The powers-that-be shut that one down, so Cy and Dub decided to reimagine this one; I'll let them tell it...Cyrano Sinatra (f.k.a. Cyrano aka Cy Yung) has reconnected with Dub MD to help remove a blemish from their immaculate first collaboration, 2009's 'Madicinal Libationz'. After assembling one of the most diverse casts of Hip-Hop underground at the time, 'Madicinal Libationz' was received with praise but ran into roadblocks to reaching as many as it could have, but this 'Bitchless Brew' will not have that problem.
The 'B*tchless Brew' features production from one of the UK's best kept secrets, Magic-Boy, Cyrano's familia, Centric, J. Slikk, Cynergy Soundz and Sharpcuts and extended fam from NC Hip-Hop's stash of heatrock-makers, this is what should have been! Brought to you by Kevin Nottingham and RockTheDub. The project is minus a few choice cuts that will make their remix appearance for the forthcoming Anniversary edition.
No better way for Dub MD to say farewell to his freely-given, classic co-sign mixtape series than with this re-invention project, a return to the buffet of lyrical wordplay Cy dropped in April of 2009. And this is only the beginning, Cyrano and Dub MD will continue to keep the flame of Underground Hip-Hop lit. Sinatra's 2012 will feature more from his 2-man group Steadyflow (with Sharp), as well as complete projects produced by Centric, J. Slikk, DJ Husky, DJ J-Rell and Doc Verbz.

If you fucked with the recently-released KhemLab project, you'd heard heat from both Cyrano and Sharp. I actually didn't know that these two did a lot of work together, but I'm thoroughly fucking with their SteadyFlow project, Carlin & Pryor. Great cover, great music, loads of dope beats (mostly produced by Sharp, although Centric & J. Slikk do make appearances), and a load of raw Rap for your bitch ass. And your bitch's ass. Loving it. If you're not nodding your head to this one, you might be in need of some new ears.
Not sure if R.O.E. knows, but my birthday is tomorrow, so he actually hit me with an early birthday gift a few hours ago. Grabbing Common's latest No I.D.-produced excellence, ROE really kicks some random thoughts atop the finest track. Straight heat, too. More like a book of rhymes, with ROE just thumbing through the pages, picking his inner-most thoughts and bleeding them onto the beat. Be on the lookout for his TheRadiantChildLP, which he's trying to drop this December. Coast to this one for the time being, though.

R.O.E. "Revive (Live)": ROE recently flipped one of my favorite tracks from A Backpacker Named R.O.E. (which RTD presented back in March) in-studio and recorded this session, and I think the J. Slikk beat got a dope live reinterpretation. Sounds like homey really knows how to present his shit in a live setting - you trying to book him? Let the BPA affiliate touch down on your city and revive that Hip-Hop spirit - it won't die as long as he's breathing.
junclassic "What It Is" (prod. by J Slikk): Two of my favorite BPA niggas collaborate on this one. I’d go on about how I wish jun and Slikk would work together more, but I mean, I just deal with the few gems of their collabs that I possess. jun says that he was inspired by a piece he saw at 174 Street and Park Ave in the South Bronx, so I guess I need to accumulate a load of Slikk beats and take that nigga on a trip to varying graf murals. I could get the album I need in my life.
Drastic "What I Do" (prod. by Cynergy Soundz): Lovin' the vibe of this one from BPA affiliate Cynergy. The work on that vocal in the sample, and the overall brightness of that beat blends well with Dras' rhymes. Something to sip something strong to in a packed basement, reppin' with your peoples. Something to blow trees with that fly chick to... before you put your mack down, of course. Just a different sound from the cookie cutter norm out there. Rock to it.
FINALLY! I don't even know how long I've been waiting to provide this to you guys, but with life going on for everyone involved, this EP, a proper introduction to the one like R.O.E. is here. A Backpacker Named R.O.E. is a mixture of true school beats, captivating, heartfelt lyrics and a load of life experience from one of the underground's immensely talented writers. R.O.E. blends the same above and below ground tendencies, giving us tracks about the struggle of the everyman as well as his aspirations for more. Tracks like "Starship", which are definitive statements of his goal of getting known based off his talents taking him out of the galaxy, while songs like "Revive" are R.O.E. as a defibrillator to the Hip-Hop game.
