Ted Smooth still puts out quality blends, as do some others, and this mixtape from DJ Books (who represents The Thieves Theme and The Diggers Union) is taking it BACK with this one. For some reason, I've known about (and loved) "Dreader Than Dread" for a while, but never remembered which Em song they grabbed his "the looniest, zaniest, spontaneous sporadic" line from. Figured it out at work and affixed "Dread" at the proper time. Might be a nice DJ tool to bridge your Hip-Hop to Jungle mixes? Who knows. Dil Jackson "Player Has Butterflies": This is awesome. J. Rocc is working on a J Dilla/Michael Jackson project called Share My Bed, and this is one of my favorite blends of either of their tracks since their untimely deaths. The blend works b/c he doesn't just throw a vocal over the beat - he actually put some thought into it, where it sounds like Dilla was really in the studio, vibing with MJ over this one. It sounds great, and it sounds like some shit I'd want to hear. I'm in awe, and cannot wait to hear more!Hat tip: Metal Lungies.

DJ Cable Vs. Jay-Z "99 Problems (Super Brooklyn Blend)": Big. DJ Cable flips the Cocoa B'z "Super Brooklyn" instrumental over Hov's classic "99 Problems". This actually fits very well! DJs, get on this one! I've heard a few blends of this, even over some experimental Jungle, but this blend is the most fun out of all of 'em.
