DJ Priority and Eloh Kush Get Into Some Serious 'Tut Talk'

With Jersey SZN officially upon us, it's time to take a look at Tut Talk, the recently-released EP from DJ Priority and Eloh Kush. Peace to New Brunswick, peace to the real god tough talk on this one. If you're down for that new-school knowledge and wisdom told through the hip-hop scope? Tut Talk is what you need, trust. Priority on the beats is always a must, and Eloh's massacring leaflets with his ginsu sword of a pen.

Tone Liv Rocks 'Penguin Slippers' In The Booth

At least, I assume he does. If Tone Liv didn't name his latest album Penguin Slippers because he wore penguin slippers in the booth, why would he do it? Maybe that doesn't matter; with the 2017 edition of the Jersey Fresh Jam going down on August 12, it might be JERSEY SZN right now, and Penguin Slippers is a dope way to celebrate NJ hip-hop.

Think about it: Tone Liv, aka the Rap Mayor, has a number of Jersey's finest on this project, including Sol Zalez, DJ Absurd, DJ Priority, DJ MentPlus, and others, along with mainstays like Dibiase and Tab. It maintains the swagger that is resonant throughout most of Tone's material, from the Tall Can Anthems like "Tallcan Llama Stretch" to the deeper, more immersive nerdier side like "Millenium Falcon." You have to love how Liv and Dibiase craft a chilled ode to what happens when a fire producer hands a dope emcee a fire track. If you don't get with "The Beat," you might need to get away from me.

Tommie Chase & DJ Priority Urge You to 'Shut Up And Rap'

Now THIS is what I'm trying to hear. DJ Priority has been a beast with his, as has Tommie Chase, but the two of them linking up and showing the world what Jersey is really doing? All about it. Shut Up And Rap shows and proves that instead of spending a grip of funds to have people tell you why you need to fuck with good music, just give the world good music.

If you're a longtime RTD reader you'll recognize EA cats like Deal - The Villain, Elete Wright, and the Brokn:Englsh crew all over this. Respect to Chase for being even angrier and more ornery than I am; it makes his bars iller.

DJ Priority Remixed Your Favorite Ghostface Killah Records

Jersey's DJ Priority is not only nice on the wheels, he's nice on the beats... and a Wu head supreme. So much so that he found a grip of Ghostface Killah acapellas and put his spin on some of your favorite GFK bangers. And for the heads out there, yes, those instrumentals are included as well. If this doesn't get you pulling out gems from Starks' catalogue, nothing will.

Here's a Look at the Artists Performing at the Jersey Fresh Jam 2015

This one snuck up on us, huh? Tomorrow afternoon at TerraCycle in Trenton, the Jersey Fresh Jam celebrates 10 years of bringing hip-hop, graffiti, and positive vibes to the city of Trenton. You should already be up on who's performing this year, but if not, I put together a quick playlist featuring the live acts who will be doing the damn thing. We're talking eight hours of music in the city... get ready!

"Wherever tall cans is at, I'm in the building." Such is the mantra of Tone Liv, who is one of my favorite people in the NJ hip-hop scene, and life in general. He's worked hard with DJ Priority on their Clockwork album, and this is the second single (following the title track, which dropped in May). Alongside Respect Tha God and Burke The Jerk, Tone and Priority craft some darker shit. Proper single as well, with clean, dirty, and instrumental versions on deck.

That might've been because of the tall cans I was drinking, but hell, to see it finally see the light of day kills me. I'm throwing up just a preview until I get the final. Here's the first official look at Take A Commercial Break, the long-awaited collaborative project form Daniel Joseph and Tone Liv, which rockthedub.com is presenting. This cut is produced by fellow Jersey head DJ Priority, and is a great introduction to this. Priority came with the fresh sample on this one, allowing Tone and Dan to do exactly what they do. Shit feels effortless. I hear this shit is pretty much done, by the way, just putting the final sprinkle dinkles on it. Shit's official.
