With the new Lessondary album Ahead of Schedule finally set to drop on June 24, it's dope to see DJ Low Key dropping what might be seen as the definitive look at the parts that make up the Lessondary crew. This trek through some of the finest material from the squad includes some of my personal favorites, like the N.E.R.D.-flipping "Lessondary Noise." It's dope to see how often the crew has linked up to create magic on a track.

Tanya Morgan "So Damn Down (Rehearsal)": @Donwill just blasted out this iPhone recording that @DJLowKey did of TM's "So Damn Down" rehearsal, which featured a live band that consisted of Daru Jones, Louis Cato, Ray Angry, Igmar Thomas & Nir Fielder. This was their first live-band spot, for their SOB's performance. Don even said "peep the entire room correcting me messing up on my verse during the Rehearsal". I love these "behind the scenes" bits!

The release of this tape will coincide with the three-year anniversary of their weekly, The Solution; this is one of the premier nights for Hip-Hop in Denver, CO. Denver Solution has a massive post from June 2009 showcasing a Red Bull Music Academy-sponsored Solution night where Exile, DJ Day, Che Grand, Von and Donwill were surprise guests. I spotted this on illRoots the other day and was intrigued, because I had just been listening to an old Prince Paul mix and remembered a lot of my favorite De La Soul cuts were from his hand. Here's some info on this mix and the exhibit its promoting:

Denver's DJ Low Key joins acclaimed artist M11X and popular hip hop site Illroots.com for De La Extras #2, his second tribute to rap legends De La Soul. With 2009 commemorating the 20th anniversary of De La Soul's landmark debut album, DJ Low Key put together an unconventional mix of De La rarities, remixes, bootlegs & b-sides to accompany MX11 aka Mikal Hameed's De La Soul audio sculpture (featured on the mixtape's cover) on the De La Soul - 3 Feet High & Rising Art Tour. With the tour being postponed, Low Key decided to release the tape in conjunction with Illroots.com and send it on M11X's upcoming solo national tour.
