I've been chatting it up for a bit, and now DeepSpace's The Escape Tape is available for free download. It's really a project that highlights the homey O. Smith, a lyricist who is as witty as he is deep. This tape is not only mixed by the one and only DJ Nominal, but it features my thoughts about the DMV. Mixture of industry beats and fresh shit. DeepSpace "We Run This (DMVMix)": I'm loving the freestyles and flips of Jay's "Run This Town" more than the track, for some reason. DMV astronauts DeepSpace went off over this, and retained Rihanna's hook, which works well for them. DMV stand UP!
The DMV is proving they are not to be fucked with, and it seems like every month, there's a new mixtape from a new artist or crew to sink your teeth into.
