Digital Soundboy are definitely in the giving mood as of late! Hot on the heels of the Fabriclive.63 mix they sorted, they give away this intoxicating track from Breakage - if you've heard that mix, you definitely got sucked into this 140-ish amen workout. Breakage kept it old school, with those uplifting vibes and those diva vocals. I believe he's working on his next album, so it's good to give the people a lil' something extra. Today marks the UK release of Fabriclive.63, which was mixed by Shy FX, B.Traits and Breakage, aka the Digital Soundboy Soundsystem (US release is June 19th).You might have seen me going ham about this mix last week on twitter. Trick Daddy vs. Redlight "Drop (Disc Jockey Nappy THUGSTEP Refix)": You know how we do round here - we are dub-carrying members of the "get it early" committee. Redlight's "Source 16" has been on the dub circuit for a bit, and is a fucking MONSTER. Proper infectious riddim, and the perfect bed for what might have been one of Trick Daddy's last singles. Don't know what it is, but it sounds like he vocal'd this specifically. That "low low low looow" chant fits PERFECTLY when the beat drops in "Source 16", and is just some shit to get tipsy to. "Source 16" dropped today on Digital Soundboy, so we figured it made sense to drop this as well. No pun intended / all puns intended. Also, this is an apology for missing May 1st for a Nappy refix - my bad, cousin! I definitely JUST dropped a preview of this, and now the video for Breakage's latest single (which I have no doubt will be impacting UK radio once it touches down) is out.

New tune from Breakage; this single drops on the 27th of February on Digital Soundboy, and features Jess Mills. What's funny is DJ Nappy has been out of the loop for a bit, and only heard some of Breakage's more recent output. I had to put him onto a number of Breakage's cuts, and just charting dude's progression in the last 10 years is awesome. Truly one of my favorite producers at the moment. Shouts to Shy FX for signing Breakage and allowing him to spread his wings.
The "Fighting Fire" single also includes a Drum & Bass remix from Loadstar (which you can hear in Hype's latest show), as well as this banger of a remix from Foamo:

A lil' late night dubstep ting. I think I first heard Kutz' "Hypno" on Hatcha's Kiss100 show, so it's fitting that my current I NEED THIS TUNE dubplate is a Kutz tune, played on Hatcha's radio show recently. The actual tune isn't that intricate - I'm just a sucker for aggressive use of the amen break. Most of the time, amens thrown in a dubstpe tune are done at a more normal speed, but he actually has it running a bit slower, and really rolls it out over the harder dubstep beat. Shy FX Raver EP
I've been championing this track for a bit - I first heard it over three months ago on MistaJam's show, and was instantly amazed. It's everything I loved about Jungle and Drum & Bass, from the perfectly-utilized source material to GOOD lyrics and all other kinds of Soul infused in it. Hell, it even gets on its Carnival ting at the end, which I didn't even realize was part of the same tune at first! The video dropped last week, and made me wish I could've cameo'd in it - all kinds of scene luminaries are spotted in there, giving the track a kind of unifying quality with the scene, which at times can be very segregated. Good music brings us all together, no? Well, anyways, I know the MJ Cole remix was given away, but this free download, which costs nothing but being added to the Digital Soundboy mailing list, also includes two mixes from Shy FX: the original and a more dancehall version. They also give out the Breakage version, which touches on a lil' hardcore jungle techno ting, and is one of the highlights of this EP. Big tune overall, and it costs you nah-ting. Breakage "Hard (Redlight Remix)": Good to hear this getting a release – for free, no less! I believe I heard Shy drop this ages ago. It’s so ill to hear a primarily DnB/Dubstep label put out some multi-genre remixes, and actually make me dig the genres they are in. Redlight has his whole other flavor, super bass heavy funk funnery type shit, and it amazingly works with Newham Generals’ lyrics.Breakage - Hard (Redlight Remix) by factmag
