Jaxtella - All-Star Sound (Feb. 2019)

With the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities underway in North Carolina, it makes sense that we'd start a part up here, right? I'm not sure what the drum & bass massive truly looks like in the Trenton area, but bassbin destroyer Jaxtella's representing, and the latest mix he sent over feels like he's fully realizing his sound.

When he he's rinsing out the latest in drum & bass, Patrice McBride is a go-to blend DJ, and it's dope to see him applying those vibes to the dnb scene. In his latest mix, he has a dope Meek Mill and Drake vs. Mob Tactics blend in there, as well as this magnificent mash-up, both of which you can download for free. This set also features material from Drumsound & Bassline Smith, High Contrast, Benny L, Shy FX, 1991, and many others.

Jaxtella - Rainy Dayz

With the Indian Summer finally breaking over here on the East Coast, Jaxtella returns with a massive boost of liquid drum & bass for your speakerboxes.

The Trenton-based DJ is still working through months of dnb releases, and turning them into sixty-plus minute rinseouts. This pack is from the month of August, and includes a number of Degs "sprayouts" from his impressive Hospital mixtape, as well as bits from Friction, Pola & Bryson, Danny Byrd, Villem & McLeod, Djah, and more.

Jaxtella: 60 Minutes of Madness (Aug. 2018)

With the return of rockthedub radio, we got Jaxtella back on the decks for the first of what's becoming many drum & bass sets. His secret is also out: Jaxtella is the dnb alias of Patrice McBride, and from what I'm being told, he's set to really go in with this Jaxtella sound. That appears to be including regular mixes, which you can stream and download to your heart's content.

We know, it's been a few months since the RTDMIX blessed you, and just like we did in January, we've got another mix from the mysterious drum & bass mastermind known as Jaxtella.

We've actually been sitting on this mix for a little bit; we don't know who the hell Jaxtella is, so it made sense to try and figure out what his situation was. Of course, we couldn't find a fucking thing, so we just have to unleash this supreme drum & bass mix on you. Featured in this set is new material from Goldie, Klute, Submorphics, Dave Owen, and others, including a Frank Ocean remix from Jaxtella! It's a perfectly thumping mix for those of you who want to vibe out on this Memorial Day.

What better way to kick in the new year than with a brand new edition of the RTDMIX from the mysterious drum & bass phenom Jaxtella? You know, I'm still clueless as to what a Jaxtella really is; I randomly got sent a file with a tracklist and an MP3, and it was this ferocious new set. I couldn't trace the digital fingerprint or nothing; who knew that burner email accounts were that untraceable?

Similar to his debut on the RTDMIX, Jaxtella goes straight for the jugular on this one. The tracklist is thick, featuring fresh material from Black Sun Empire, Konichi, a gem from Total Science v Digital & Spirit, Need For Mirrors, and many, many more. You NEED THIS. Perfect weekend pre-game material, trust we.

RTDMIX004: Jaxtella

We know, we know; we just gave you some drum & bass back in September, but instead of a more calm liquid selection, we're hitting you hard and heavy courtesy of the one like Jaxtella. Call this drum & bass for having to deal with Trump's America.

Now, I can't tell you much about Jaxtella. I mean, I could, but I'd rather let that information marinate while you soak in this devastating set. At 50 minutes, this RTDMIX is a solid look at the darker, heavier side of the dnb scene from the last few months. There are a few cuts from Dom & Roland's stellar Last Refuge of a Scoundrel LP, the Redman-sampling gem "Who Got Da Funk" from the 10 Years of Symmetry compilation, a few new cuts from Metrik, SpectraSoul, and even Bad Company's first remix after signing with Ram Records.
