#nofilterday Is it Mos Def or Yasiin Bey? I mean, Nah Right is one of the pinnacles of Hip-Hop bloggering, and if they have it up, it has to be official, right? Well, Dante calls himself Yasiin on this track. And anyway, can we really believe Mos Yasiin? He's been in some pretty high profile movies and TV shows, right? I know he has kids, so is he that fucked with his money that he considers himself poor? And why did he spend so much time cutting the beat out of this bootleg version of the "Niggas In Paris" instrumental? Y'all wanna keep laughing, but he should've just spit over "2 Niggas And A White Dude Play "Niggas In Paris" In Paris" and called it a day.
#BlackFriday didn't feature the Black Collar Biz like I planned, but that shit will drop on #CyberMonday, no matter what. I'm glad Black Star (aka Mos DefYasiin Bey and Talib Kweli) are back and working on shit. Their Madlib-produced "Fix Up" dropped via iTunes today, but they also felt like blessing cats with this cut from their Black Star Aretha mixtape, which is a tribute to Aretha Franklin. This cut is produced by 'Lib's brother Oh No, but isn't as spastic and random as his normal productions have been. I love all of his shit, and these two sound great over the Jackson brothers. Just some sultry Hip-Hop for a #BlackFriday night. Big up to Sermon.
Madlib's horns, Mos' mic, rings and attire... this feels like a Hip-Hop show from back in the '50s. Who knows where this is coming from or where it'll end up. Just savor the moment.
