Here's the newest/latest seduction suite from Trackstar the DJ's Still Dreamin' mixtape series. Featuring the lovely voice of Jimetta Rose on hosting duties, we get tracks from Black Spade, Gil Scott-Heron, Quadron, The Roots, Coultrain, Jaspects, Lauryn Hill, as well as Jimetta herself. Roll a pinner with your lady, get dizzy high and fuck away the dizzy spell. Or is that too raw for early evening?
Joe Stu "On My Way" (prod. by D.R.U.G.S.): Let's start the weekend... now. Love when niggas combine some reggae/dancehall into some fat bottom tracks. My niggas over at Dot Got It put me onto this, and I'm glad they did. This is some shit that drops when you're just starting to feel that liquor/weed buzz you're working on. That shit that makes you throw your glass against the wall and start vibing to. Proper waist-winding shit. Lovin' this one. Be on the lookout for an album from Joe and D.R.U.G.S., nahmean?
You recently heard the extended version of "Chain Reaction", as well as saw the video for "By The Block". Now, Lyle Horowitz brings you the special Auteur: Director's Cut, a revamped version of the 2009 release. In this, you get five remastered tracks from the original, five remix/amended versions of Auteur cuts, as well as the video for "By The Block", iPod-ready to rock. I know 4/20 was a few days away, but this shit requires an open mind, a potent spliff, and time to digest, forrealsies. This is a dope release to get you ready for Lyle's Smiles Of A Summer Night, which features Fresh Daily, PreZZure, Charles Hamilton, P. Hall and many more artists. Firestarter.
M-Dot "The Difference" (prod. by Soulslicers): I’d love to be like “coming off the smash interview we did with M-Dot earlier this week”, but I imagine this track was going to leak regardless. You really should peep the Q&A, though, we went in. ANYWAYS, the Soulslicers recently dropped a free EP entitled Before The Album, which featured this track, the second single from the Soulslicers’ Boost Da Soul LP, which drops in May 2011. These Swiss beatsmiths cooked up some crack for M-Dot to blaze through. True dope. The free EP features Quite Nyce as well. Just download the whole fucking thing, then watch out for the video, which was shot in fucking Geneva! Say word!
MCMF "Hello" (prod. by Kajmir Royale): I won't front - the hook on this threw me off. Didn't know if I had some Drake on or something, bonce MCMF went into the first verse, I knew I had the right track. This is one of those anthems you blast by yourself, speeding to your destination on the highway, reflecting on the nonsense in life and truly pointing the middle finger to the fucking haters out there. This cut is taken from MCMF's I Can Rap mixtape. Word is he's got an album with Spa on deck, although no word on a release for that is on the table - as of yet. Keep it locked, haters!
