Rukus "Dear Tatiana" (prod. by Kid Konnect): I haven't yet found the words to describe how I feel about the disgusting atrocity of the Oscar Grant murder. The boy Jonny Walker pretty much expressed exactly how I was feeling, and Rukus, with Kid Konnect on the beat, took it a step further. Here's Ruk's words on this track, and the situation: "The song is basically my attempt first at an open letter to Tatiana, the family, and then anyone willing to listen. Its not a calling out of the police; its not a call for blood or riots; i mean I could list all the injustices that occur on a daily/weekly basis involving the police. But this is not that song...this is just a reminder of what happens when people are gone...who is left behind, how we perceive life, and basically how I felt as a young black man upon seeing the video and what I imagine I would tell that little girl who has lost her father." I can only imagine what my family would have to go through if this happened to me.Ruk also passed along this link, for those who want to get "be a part of the process to bring the police officer and his department to justice". I pray for the family of Oscar Grant, and hope that he rests in peace.
