YC The Cynic ft. Homeboy Sandman & Niles "Suicide" (prod. by Don Knottz & JFree): I was going back and forth with YC and Alex from Move Forward about when I had first gotten sent this track. Back before YC blew the fuck up, he hit me with a rough demo version of this track. I had plans to drop it on a forthcoming RTD compilation, but that never materialized. I am no where NEAR mad, though - this final version has been fleshed out, and has a better bounce and overall rock to it. Those cuts from M-Tri also bring something else out of it. It's a full thought, as opposed to a random idea scratched on the notepad. YC's Fall FWD mixtape drops March 1st, and will more than likely be something not to be slept-on. 8th W1 "To Audrey" (prod. by Ramon 'Sincere' Rodriguez): 8th sent this over last week, and for some reason I forgot to give this one a run. Silly me. Interesting track, here – 8th goes in deep, and when you think shit is going one way, he injects some proper reality on a number of different topics. He’s a smart brother, and knows how to pick some sick beats to express himself. All about preparation for the future, for the born and unborn in our lives. Stand up nigga, 8th is.
I love random heat. I’ve never heard of Jersey City beatsmith’s PVD aka Pat Van Dyke, but I know what 8th W1 is all about in terms of his pen game, so hearing that they released a free (for this week only) EP under their new Lux DeVille group, I was intrigued. Then I threw on “The Biz”, which is a healthy slice of Jazzy Hip-Hop pie. Love those horns thrown in there. The proper shame is that this is only four tracks, but as a satisfying primer to what BETTER BE a proper full length release in the near future? I’m open.

If I could rap, I'd do a song like this about the ups and downs in the life of a blogger, but it'd be on some hatecore metal shit. You don't wanna hear all of that, right?
P.SO & 8thW1 ft. Daniel Joseph "Vintage Clothes": Okayplayer got the premiere on this cut from P.SO's Suicide By Jellyfish project. Interesting Paul McCartney sample, and these cats know how to merk it. I don't own any vintage clothes - if I remade this, it'd be called "Wal-mart Clothes".

Sleepwalkas "Be On You": Surprised no one else threw this one up; this is a cut taken from No Room For Dessert, the 8thW1 album that's produced by 2HB, which drops on July 27th. Shit's dope. Niggas trying to mack on these females they wanna be on. The beat is as slick as the rhymes are. Proper martini'd up '70s player movements in this one. And you sleepin'. Do NOT sleep on the album release party on the 26th, though!
