DJ Wonder be dropping that shit that makes me think he understands. Who else is dropping Juicy J, NJ Rebels, Heroes x Villains, 2 Chainz' "Crack", Baauerand plenty more. Fucks with this!
First single from the Heroes x Villains x Trap-A-HolicsRun The Trap EP, which is dropping on the 31st of August alongside a documentary. Shit goes, trust. Whether you call it Trap, post-Trap or Trap Rave (or some other random title), shit knocks.
New tape from DJ E-V and Benzi, rocking the fuck out of the #THUGSTEP sound (although they'd never say that), with remix pressure from Styles & Complete, Crizzly, Figure, Heroes and Villains and plenty more.
If you're looking to get rattled the fuck up by some serious bass, you need to be in Brooklyn on the night of the 3rd of October. The likes of Heroes x Villains, DJ Trigon, DJ Nappy, Space Jesus and Soundboy Pussy will be murdering the Public Assembly. Open *vodka* bar from 10-11, 21+ to enter? If you RSVP via planetdubnyc@gmail.com, you gain $7 entry, but it'll be $10 at the door. Let a nigga know if you're trying to attend via Facebook.
When I speak about THUGSTEP and how easy it can be for MCs to spit on dubstep, tracks like this are exactly what I'm speaking of. The boy Young Lyxx is from San Diego and lives in the ATL, and has a project, Happy To Be Here, set to drop on the 30th of September. The homies Heroes x Villains have their own EP dropping on Mad Decent, ATLANTA, and it looks like this cut seems to be featured on both. The genius about this cut is that it maintains that Dirty South flavor just as much as it does the dubstep aesthetic in the track. Proper hybrid sound, and the logical next step in bridging this gap. Expect more from Lyxx as well as Heroes x Villains, trust we.

Here's a new double shot of a mix from Klever and Heroes x Villains, presented by Karmaloop and The Overthrow, all in the name of bigging up the five year anniversary of the Sloppy Seconds party. I'm sorry, but LOL at the site saying it was "your's to stream" today, but the exclusive K.TV download will be up on the 8th. Oh, really? Do I not know how to click a download button via official.fm? Anyways, this is a dope mix for your summer fun, trust.
When he's not creating movements or plotting world domination, my boy DJ Nappy is just making moves. Most niggas in the situation he's currently in wouldn't be plotting some of these situations - or actually making them a reality. One of the things I've been discussing with him is a string of shows that he and Marty (aka Rose Music Productions) will be putting on in Chicago. Their first show, Sub Heat, goes down on the 9th of June, and tickets are on sale NOW. Here's a little blurb I wrote for the event:
Touching down at V Live in Chicago on the 9th of June is Sub Heat, the debut Chicago event from the Rose Music Productions crew. Aligning some of the finest performers within the Bass Music scene, this night is primed and ready to shake the dancefloor and leave the patrons breathless! Featured DJs include DJ Craze, a three-time DMC World Champion, Dieselboy, a staple within the Drum & Bass and (now) dubstep scene (performing with the acclaimed MC Messinian), Mad Decent representer Dillon Francis out of LA, Atlanta’s own Heroes & Villains (representing Mad Decent and HEAVY), and the Thugstep architect, DJ Nappy. All DJs pack their own Sub Heat, and are ready to crush speakers and rinse the venue. 18+ to enter, 21+ to drink. Eight hours of partying from 8PM to 4AM. BE THERE!
If you're in Chicago, and a fan of Bass Music, this should be the party to kick the summer off right. Or make a trip out there. Should be an ill night. EDIT New acts/stages have been announced for tomorrow night's Sub Heat show in Chicago. Loads of local Midwest EDM talent are lined up - check it out!

I think this was supposed to drop last week, but better late than never, right? Proper slices of THUGSTEP from the Heroes & Villains crew out in the ATL, hosted by Lil Jon & Cobra Corps, and presented by Mad Decent. I'd say I've been telling you guys about that sound, but you pricks aren't listening. Nor do you care. Enjoy this, though.
Hipnotikk hit me with this on the private style, had no idea that this got released to the masses. This shit is the truth, and features five DJ Nappy refixes (including the new "Roll Call" jawn), as well as a bunch of fire selections from Hipnotikk, Daddy's Money, Heroes & Villains and a grip more. Hit the jump to download, stream and devour the tracklist.
With a nice lil' resurgence of THUGSTEP going on currently, I can't go in on this without speaking on Heroes + Villains, a duo out of the A featuring Pete H and Daniel Disaster, aka the one like DJ Megan Foxxx. You heard one of their dubs in the HEAVY mix from a few months back, and Daniel hit me with their Soundcloud page earlier today. Hit the jump for some streams (and downloads) of some of the FIERCEST dubstep and thugstep mashups around.
Diplo ft. Lil' Jon "U Don't Like Me": How I let this slip by me is ludicrous. Diplo comes with a nasty bass riddim on this one, and Lil' Jon is, well, Lil' Jon, which is always a great thing when his fury matches the dancehall pandemonium of the track. Thugstep indeed. And if this doesn't get you hype, you might wanna check the remix Heroes & Villains did; Dj Megan Foxxx dropped this at HEAVY, check it out!
Here's DJ Megan Foxxx's promo mix, HEAVY, that I mentioned the other day. It's hosted by Armanni Reign and features some sick sounds, including the Heroes & Villains remix of Gucci Mane's "Lemonade", Nero's "Innocence" and fire from Funtcase, Reso and many more! Hit the jump.
