STS "The Interview"

STS "The Interview" (prod. by The Alchemist): How the fuck is STS still unsigned? Not only was he featured on The Roots' latest album, but he's a fucking Money Making Jam Boy. He interviews himself on this one! Like, I don't have to interview him at all - he does it himself. On this track. That Alchemist produced. What the fuck? I mean, I'm thankful to be getting The Illustrious for free this summer, but if it's even a fraction of as ill as this first track, he might need to repackage for sale later this year. Trust.

STS "The Play"

STS "The Play": Looks like finalizing the Demand More series had STS moving onto new things. Last week, this leak from Bestest Asbestos’ The Glorification of Gangster soundtrack dropped, and I love it. The Glorification of Gangster is a mixed-media exhibition of Alex Haldi’s which goes down on the 12th of May at the World Monuments Fund Gallery, and is just what it says on the tin: an exploration into the infusion of organized crime in entertainment and other areas of life. The likes of J. Cole, Kris Kasonova, Jon Connor, Netherfriends and more are featured on the soundtrack, and this STS track is some diamond in the back, cool blaxploitation hustler plotting type shit. With mad square smoke. Or is that gunsmoke?

STS ft. Joell Ortiz & Dave Guy "The People (Remix)"

STS ft. Joell Ortiz & Dave Guy "The People (Remix)" (prod. by Sean C & LV): RTD recently celebrated five years of doing the damn thing, and one guy I need to shout is STS, as he’ll hold the distinction of dropping the first freestyle that included “rockthedub” in it. Over a MF Doom beat. WAAAAY before a lot of you guys picked up on his bars. Since then, he’s gone on to do a LOT of things, including linking with the Money Making Jam Boys and being featured on the latest album from The Roots, and recently the “G.O.L.D. Edition” of his Demand More series dropped, collecting all of the original recordings off the entire series, and this remix is the icing on that cake. Nice way to close out that chapter, nahmean? I know you’ve got some green left – roll up your remaining buds into one big spliff and cool out to this horn-driven slapper. Ortiz and STS go off, of course. Blam. #diehardfansdemandmore

Money Making Jam Boys The Prestige

After wild delay, the Money Making Jam Boys (which is a crew featuring Black Thought, STS, Dice Raw, Truck North and P.O.R.N.) mixtape, The Prestige is upon us. Lyrically, these niggas rip shit to pieces. Beats come from the likes of ?uestlove, Frank Knuckles, Kleph Dollaz and many more, with cats like Jazzy Jeff featured. It's really a MMJB party, and go-to mixtape DJs Mick Boogie & Terry Urban put this jam together. Worth the wait, although I'm still perplexed as to why 10.Deep hooked up this ill website for the project... but then have the file hosted at mediafire? Whatever works, right?

Money Making Jam Boys "Tear It Down"

Money Making Jam Boys "Tear It Down": I am a fan of Slaughterhouse, in theory (the album wasn’t my shit), but the MMJB is more my flavor. Just hear STS beast that first verse. That’s a cat I’m proud of – I remember first hearing him and making sure he got some shine here, and to see his name popping up, and just hearing him excel? Shit’s dope. All the Jam Boys come off over this sparse beat – it’s dope, but is really just something that allows them to body their respective verses. Feels like pea coat rap. Video is on a dark corner, one street light, lots of spitting, seeing the hot air fly out of niggas mouths. Maybe a different light for each MC. Who knows. And don’t get me started on Black Thought’s bit. That nigga should be your idol. I believe Shake did the artwork in this post, so big up to him.
