I told you guys this was coming out! When Jelani hit me about this EP, he asked me to send some dubstep tracks so he could flip them. In the pack I sent Pixel Fist's "Seduction", and he looped that shit up crazy, allowing Wildabeast to just massacre it, birthing "Who Knows.". Shouts to all of them for making this happen. If you were smart, you rocked with the streamed StrandBeast session, which featured Wildabeast crafting the very EP that this post contains, like, today. Not soup to nuts, but Jelani had beats picked and Wil flipped his rhymes, right thurr. And it came out fucking sick. Shouts to Wil and Jel for allowing RTD to not only contribute some ideas to the EP's infancy, but allowing me to present this to you. The official time for completion: 7 hours, 50 minutes. Starting at 10AM, Wildabeast will be working on his Strandbeast EP with Jelani. Full stream after the jump, which will feature Wildabeast listening to beats, recording vocals and Jelani mixing/mastering the jawn. Hip-Hop to dubstep to whatever the fuck else works. I heard one of Jel's flips and I need this shit to be on it. Once I get the word that this EP has been mixed/mastered and is ready to go, I got you.
The other day, Jelani and Wildabeast turned on the cameras and let the world see them record an EP, live. A few minutes ago, Jel sent over this seven-track opus, and goddamn, I love this kind of Internets output. Two talented individuals linking up and getting a project written, recorded, mixed and mastered, and eventually released later that week. For free. And it's fucking ill! First time in a minute I heard some new Wil, so I'm glad this came about. Fits the odd mood I'm in due to this rainy day. "Aftershocks" might be my favorite, trust. Noise x boom bap. Enjoy that. If you remember BeastRoc and Thin Walls, you should be familiar with Jelani and Wildabeast's excursions into knocking out an EP in a day. Instead of rocking this late(r) at night, they decided to turn on the camera and let the music get created in the afternoon. Now, all of the beats have been sorted out beforehand, so Will will be hearing these upon arrival and writing/recording to them on the spot. You can see that entire process, mixed and mastered, then release. Fucking tough, right? Enjoy that.
