WhyGee - I Need Money

I'd go in on this project, which is a sick one, but this write-up says it all: "Bread not looking right? Need some player advice? Whygee and Qknox can help you maximize YOUR Grind. Their critically acclaimed album " I Need $ " has been given the nod for it's smooth arrangement, logical presentation, and a sound which can only be explained as Grown, Anti Pop Bullshit. This is not just some mixtape. It's not a mixtape at all. This is Pre-Meditated Murder Of The Track by Hitmen For Hire".

[preview] Kid Hum - Love to Give

With the hoopla from #TheKhemLab taking over the last two weeks, I forgot that the homey Kid Hum was dropping a new album! From his last correspondence, Love To Give drops on the 24th of October (AKA this coming Monday), and I know he said it will be available on Bandcamp. I'll have the full details up on this when they become available, but if you peep the tracklist (after the jump), the album features "Abbey's Psalm", the lone instrumental track that you hear on The KhemLab project that dropped today. Fucks with that, and get prepped for the rest.

The KhemLab "Ya Gone"

Here's the final leak from #TheKhemLab project that we're dropping tomorrow. I won't go too ham into the shit, but I finally got everything sorted out last week, and feel that this is a strong compilation... that most of you will sleep on. Anyways, atop an instrumental from DJ Concept & DJ Mickey Knox's BYOP EP, Main Course, Whgyee and Sky 7th go hammer over some sly horns. One of the more powerful/immediately impactful bangers from this compilation, these three really brought their individual flavor to this one. Shouts to Main Course, who has helped a LOT in getting this project completed. Grab this, and rock to "Put It To Rest" and their "Streets Won't Let Me Chill" flip, then get ready for our opus when it drops, tomorrow morning!

Whygee ft. Lyriqs "Allie Lungshank"

Whygee ft. Lyriqs "Allie Lungshank": The boy Whygee? He has some shit sitting around. I know - he's got a fucking EP he sent me that's bananadirty, but I'm not sure when it's touching down. Over a fly beat from Prospeck, Why and Lyriqs drop some tales of the lovelorn, the cats who fall head over heels for a female who ends up sticking them in the end [II]. He has a number of cuts about love, both found and lost, but I like how this one goes. Shows the seedy underbelly, feels like a back alley comic book. Fine work.

BLKHRTS BLK S BTFL

Jesus. I have no idea where the BLKHRTS idea came from, but I’m loving this vowel-devoid project from King Foe, Yonnas & Karma. There’s an ill sonic slant on this – there’s a feeling throughout most of this of really going “there”, keeping that fly Hip-Hop appeal but almost forcing oneself to channel the darker part of the heart and sitting in the muck, exploring what the fuck turns your mood black. Or BLK. This EP is for rainy days, or dark, cold nights, before a riot. I’d love to see these cuts performed live!

King FOE & Whygee Denver Doobies

When Whygee first hit me up about this Dispensary Music shit with King FOE, I didn't realize it'd turn into a trilogy! First was the Take A Bite Out Of Dispensary Music sampler, followed up by the Dispensary Music album, and now we've got this special freebie, Denver Doobies, which was distributed at a show they did in Denver last night. These sacks from the Colorado Rockies are a great endcap to this project: it's like the sampler is the initial bowl you hit on a Friday afternoon, getting you hype for the night's debauchery. Dispensary Music is the party - the liquor, the females, the loud beats, the camaraderie, the escapism. Denver Doobies is that final piece, the after party. Like 4AM, 5AM - whenever the sun starts rising. This is what you put on when you're hitting those last few bowls before you take it down for the night (morning?). beats from the likes of Kid Hum, 800 The Jewell, Xperiment, Qknox and more. I have another track from Why that I'm gonna drop on Monday, but for now, roll up something nice, hit your vaporizer, light your bongs or however you do it... just get toasty and soak this final chapter into your cerebellum.

[update] WhyGee x RTD The Saga Of Mr. Bitches

Back in February of 2009, WhyGee allowed me to create an album from a grip of tracks he had sitting unreleased. The result, the Boondocks-inspired The Saga Of Mr. Bitches got some good press on your Internets - so much so that a limited run is being pressed up. Last night, Why hit me with the above artwork, which was hooked up by Happy Little Trees; if you're looking for some work, hit her up - tell her @khal sentya! Hit up Why for more info on the Saga of Mr. Bitches CD release, if you're trying to get that.

King FOE & Whygee ft. Julox "Changes"

King FOE & Whygee ft. Julox "Changes" (prod. by S.O.): Last week, we got a lil' preview of FOE & WhyGee's Dispensary Music project, and I just got passed an exclusive off of it. Hah, memories... you hear that sample in there, too, right? This is for those who stay stuck on varying types of "medicine", over a perfectly placed, space-y track. That PERFECT art? Shouts to happylittletreesdesign, and big up to Kid Hum for the hookup!

Spa ft. Whygee "Melo, Bron Or Kobe"

Spa ft. Whygee "Melo, Bron Or Kobe": Hah! Spa and Whygee took Lloyd Banks' "Beamer, Benz Or Bentley" and flipped it into an anthem for the 2010 NBA Playoffs. I don't know who YOU have, but I imagine one of these three will have that trophy. Watch out for Spa's Propose A Toast mixtape.
