Chose vs. Daft Punk "Synopsis"

Chose vs. Daft Punk "Synopsis": Philly boy Chose took Daft Punk dropping some newness to be a sign that he must massacre it. Lots of cats try to hit those fast(er) flows, double time and all that, but Chose combines a real presence and lyrical skill to going in like that. It’s not easy to rock over EDM beats and still wow people with your verbs, so it’s good to hear Chose blow down all of your preconceived notions. Proper anthem for those who dream of what the future sounds like.

Chose & RTKal "U Don't Like Me (Remix)"

Chose & RTKal "U Don't Like Me (Remix)": The version of this blinding remix was found on HOODLUM's U Don't Like Me Refix EP, which dropped last Friday. My boy DJ Nappy wasn't 100% satisfied with the final, so he went in and remastered it. This leak will be found on the U Don't Like Me (Refixes) Deluxe release, which will feature clean and dirty versions of each refix. If you've slept on this project, get more info HERE.

HOODLUM U Don't Like Me Refixes

And now we officially introduce you to the HOODLUM crew. HOODLUM consists of DJ Nappy, DJ Cable & DJ Hipnotikk, and they are poised to not only maintain the crowns as THUGSTEP kings, but push the sound to the next level, and this refix EP, reconfiguring Diplo & Lil' Jon's "U Don't Like Me" is just the perfect introduction to their sound.

Oddly enough, this has been a stance Nappy and I have taken - not so much "if you're not liking this shit, fuck you", but a really open "we'll do what we think sounds right" attitude, and I think it's worked - just chart the progression of the Rap/Dubstep hybrid sound since 2006. It's catching on to the point where Rusko has motherfucking Gucci Mane on his debut album! That's huge for this sound.

But it needs to progress - thus enter the HOODLUM.

This EP features each DJs take on this massive track gives us different moods - I liken it to the intro, the riot and the dance. From Hipnotikk's precision edits to Nappy's headbussin' beatdown to Cable's waist-windin' heat, all styles of the sound are covered. There's even a special bonus track, featuring Philly's own Chose and UK spitter RTKal going ballistic over the original Diplo instrumental. HOODLUM is about refixing sound without asking, and making you love it. And I know you will. Grab this EP, then wait for the next move from the clique... they won't have you waiting. And shouts to Justin for the cover art - good lookin'!

Chose "Disco Heaven Freestyle"

Chose "Disco Heaven Freestyle": While we await a special Chose x RTD project, peep this new freestyle from the god, flexin' over some Lady Gaga. Been a minute since I've posted someone smashin' Gaga, especially something that is so disco-fueled. But Chose is a different breed - just check it. Pop your collar to this one!

Chose "Bang Bang Bang Freestyle"

Chose "Bang Bang Bang Freestyle": Introducting Chose. Another cat that Nappy put me onto, this Philly MC is kind of sounding like someone you need to take notice of. We've got one verse here over a hype Mark Ronson track, but that champion sound, coupled with the Superman homage in the picture? Kinda feels like someone who is about to save the day. Lyrically, dude is murder - that's that Philly in him. He has a certain bounce, though - you could hear someone like this on the radio too, right? Be on the lookout for more from this dude, trust we.
