Not sure if this is going to be a yearly trend, but for Michael Jackson's birthday today, J Period and Spike Lee link up with DJ Spinna to revist their Man Or The Music tribute mixtape from last year, with an all-new second disc added to the project. I believe what would've been the third annual "Brooklyn Loves MJ" jam in the park was postponed due to Irene, but you still have this to enjoy.

Michael Jackson ft. Ill Al Skratch "They Don't Care About Us (Charles' Full Joint Mix)": Earlier today, the homey @Evorgleb said he was looking for the remix of "They Don't Care About Us" remix featuring Ill Al Skratch, a mix I never knew existed. In the words of Cher, I was all like "Project!" This mix is laid back, a bit more on the Hip-Hop tip than the original (remember all the commotion THAT song started!?), and I kind of wish Ill and Al had a lil more mic time, but it's a different mix than what cats are used to. I threw this up on twitter and it started getting hits immediately, so yeah... lost/hidden gem?
Random & DN3 "Enjoy Yourself": Here's a tribute track to MJ from The RandomBeagle (aka Ran and DN3). Mega dropped a post over on his site about his memories of MJ, with thoughts on what his passing and legacy are to him. Watch out for RandomBeagle's Heroes EP, where DN3 drops beats for Ran to dedicate rhymes to his heroes to.
Apparently this mix is going to air on Atlanta V-103 tonight at 9PM, but its available for download now. Love hearing DJs mix, especially when its a tribute like this. Shouts to Rap Radar.
Von Pea "Pink": Ill. Earlier today, the Tanya Morgan twitter account said that there's a cut that Von did where he chopped up Michael Jackson's "Baby Be Mine" for. I of course have been on that MJ shit heavy today, so Von blessing me with this is a blessing. Love the throwback funk in this - I can see Von doing a video for this in a dark club, straight out of '85, dipping from honey to honey. In a Member's Only jacket, or at least the red jawn Mike used to wear in "Thriller".
