For some reason, the month of June flew by me, and I didn't get up a link INRE RTDLTD004, a dope DnB trek to Indonesia. Hit the jump for the press release, as well as links to purchase this banger of a release.For the fourth release on RTDLTD (and the first in 2010), we sample some of the fresh sounds out of Indonesia with two producers who are making noise on a more national level. Mr. Dymz is an MC and producer of Drum & Bass and other genres of music, and is an integral part of the Indonesian scene, being nominated as Best MC at the 2006 Singapore DnB Awards. The Vortex splits his time between the UK and Indonesia, doing things from helping run operations at the mighty Drum & Bass Arena to running the popular Qilin Music imprint with Kiat.
This release is like two sides of the same coin; the party gets started with an enticing liquid-flex from Mr. Dymz in “Our Last Day”; a tight beat and jazzy keys start the ride, but once those summer-friendly subs enter into the area, you know it’s time for a skankin’ good time! True dancefloor groove, and a pure treat to mix in varying sets. On the flipside, The Vortex takes things into a more abstract zone with “Never Say Never”, which is drenched in moody undertones and rumblin’ bass, making for an interesting addition to your DJ bins. With a whole country of undiscovered Drum & Bass talent, expect to hear more from the Indonesian junglists both on RTDLTD and other labels in the near future!
