Bye-Polar "One In A Million (ACCRO Remix)"

Not sure when the Bye-Polar project is dropping. Not sure when this "Remixes" project is coming out either. No this doesn't have any Aaliyah samples in it, unless something got twisted and filtered that I don't know about. Just some heavy wake-up vibes. You're welcome.

#ThisIsAnger - Out Now!

Just wanted to let all you thugsteppers know that Nappy & Definate's "This Is Anger" EP is available today in all good digital download spots through my RTDLTD imprint. It's been a long time coming - I remember when Nappy laid these vocals down on Definate's nasty riddim, and was in awe at how anthemic this truly is to our movement. Building from that to a full remix project, and securing versions from guys like Spooky, Teeza, Tim Reaper and The Two. Fifteens, as well as introducing heads to the likes of Sheer Dropz and Linton Brown? I feel like this has different flavors for the lovers of this sound - you've got more bouncy, club-ready versions to the darker, more sinister vibes, along with a full-on Jungle rinser and that 215 quirk. I personally tried to build this like the CD maxi singles I would buy back in the day, with a number of variations on a central theme. It's a true testament to what we've been building five years ago - for free. Not sure how often you'll get releases like this from this conglomerate, but there's been a grip of mixes, remixes and refixes given away... support our endeavors and get some BIG tunes to boot!

And here's a final version of Santi Junior's "This Is Anger" refix, under his new guise for all things refixed, Thugsteppa:

#ThisIsAnger: Pre-Order

Just giving you guys a heads up that Nappy & Definate's "This Is Anger" EP is available for pre-order right now. It drops this Monday, the 19th of September, and features remixes from Spooky, Teeza, Linton Brown, Sheer Dropz, Tim Reaper and The Two. Fifteens, and can be previewed at the following outlets:

It's also up on Nu Urban, who I can't thank enough. I'm figuring a few more spots should have this up by/on Monday. I'll update you lot then. And hopefully something else to give away - for the free - on Monday. Until then, support the movement.

#ThisIsAnger, Week 1: Nappy x Tetsuo x Santi Junior

Leading up to the September 19th release of the This Is Anger EP, we'll be dropping some refixes and remixes of "This Is Anger", for free. For the first refix, we bring you Santi Junior's "This Is Anger" refix, which finds him taking Nappy's anthemic aggression into a darker zone, with Tetsuo's "My World" playing the perfect blend of grind and funk for Nappy to spew his venom. Santi's come a long way - he kind of reminds me of how Nappy attacked the refixes, with a knack to find the right swing between the vocals and the riddim used. I've got half a gig of Santi refixes that I should be compiling for a large feature next month, so be on the look out for that. Until then, wyle to this. Look for a special, alternate version of "This Is Anger" from Sheer Dropz next month...

Disc Jockey Nappy EPK

I gotta say, the boy Definate did the damn thing with this one. I hate when cats call mediocre maneuvers "A MOVIE!", but this one really flows. [video] Sub Heat (6/09/2011)

So, you know that the first Sub Heat event went down in Chicago last Thursday - if you were smart, you caught the live-stream as we had it going. Video from the night recently got sorted and, man. This shit looked BANANAS! Featured DJs (of course) include DJ Craze, Dieselboy (with Messinian), Dillon Francis, Heroes & Villains and DJ Nappy. Check it out:

Video by Definate Films. Ill party by Rose Music Productions. And as a funny bonus, here's a video from Young World; this is Episode 3 of their series, entitled "how to dance to dubstep"; it features more footage from the night, as well as interviews with Dillon and HxV:

DJ Nappy Interviews Dillon Francis

The turnaround on this interview/video was CRAZY - love that focus, Nappy! This got thrown up on Generation Bass yesterday, and I believe the interview went down on Monday night/early Tuesday morning. Dillon will be at Sub Heat in Chicago on June the 9th, so if you're fucking with this and will be in the Chicago area, you should definitely check his set out. One of the cats who's going to be making a LOT of noise, trust.

[preview] Nappy vs. Definate This Is Anger

I love my team, even though they keep me in the dark with shit. We premiered "This Is Anger" on a whim back in December, and truthfully, I'm not sure where the idea for remixes happened. Let's just assume Nappy turned a thought into a movement - it's happened before. What possibly began as "something to do" has turned into an all-out remix project for "This Is Anger", utilizing artist's like Spooky and Teeza (who are smashin' things in the Grime scene) to guys like Linton Brown (who you might not have heard of, but need to get to know), to RTD bredren like DJ Hipnotikk and The Two. Fifteens. In this preview that definitely just randomly hit your Internets earlier today, you get to hear versions from all of the aforementioned artists. I think a few of these are final, but a lot of this - including the cover art - is still in the "rough" stages, and trust: when we hit you with that final release (which I plan on dropping via RTDLTD), you won't be upset. Massive things a gwarn! Run the riddim track!

And if you missed it, some behind the scenes footage of the making of "This Is Anger" hit the YouTube last night. Shouts to Definate for that.

Nappy "This Is Anger" (Behind The Scenes)

I don't really post "behind the scenes" videos that often, but I had to throw this one up. It's from the two-take session that birthed "This Is Anger", which Nappy and I have some slick plans for. Sorting out some remixes and such. You'll hear some of that heat we're holding when it's ready to go down. Big up Definate for sorting this one out.
