While there's been no official word or explanation, the beat on twitter is that Roc Raida is in the hospital, having some kind of spinal surgery - I saw Talib Kweli mention an accident during a karate class? I don't know what the hell is going on with this Summer, I just hope he pulls through - he's truly a Grandmaster, and one of my favorite turntablists, ever. Need some proof?

Cipha Sounds reported that Steely, of the production duo Steely & Clevie, passed away yesterday due to complications from pneumonia. They first came up at Lee Perry's BLACK ARK studios, and have created some timeless riddims, including Sister Nancy's "No, No, No", Ninja Man's "Murder Dem" and Super Cat's "Ghetto Red Hot" among other timeless tracks. Do the knowledge on their work. Rest in peace, Steely.
