Main Course "Fresh Air" (prod. by Kid Hum): Yes, this is that ill shit. Haven't heard a Kid Hum track in a minute, and this one was a pleasant surprise. Colorado has it locked. Not sure what Main Course had crackin' off in the near future, but this track needs to be on it. Really ill vibes.

Tef Poe "Showstealers" (prod. by Tech Supreme): The "rap version of Richard Pryor" asked that I hit you niggas with this cut from The Redeemer, and I had to oblige. This sounds like a fight song at a Black college during a Homecoming game. Big horns, big bass. Tech Supe stuck his foot in this one. Poebama should be working on a video for this one - be on the lookout, fam.
M.anifest "Playback Music": After giving Zebra Is Food the exclusive leak on this, M.anifest passed along the MP3 for his coastin' over "Maybach Music". Dear Officer Ricky: M.anifest murdered your beat, fam. Sorry.
This was going to be on The Birds And The Beats mixtape, but word from M.anifest is that that tape has flipped into an ALBUM of original material - still free on November 20th. Keep it locked!
Pugs Atomz & Rashid Hadee "I'll Wait For You": Word up; Fake Shore Drive and DJBooth.net will be dropping Stormy, a collaborative effort from Pugs Atomz and Rashid Hadee. This is the second leak from the project (the first is "Back Again"), and it jams. Andrew says this is coming soon, but I wish it was out NOW!
After supplying a ton of music for free for the last couple of years, here's a mixtape of mostly unheard material. To show your support it's only $5.
Volume 1 contains songs that mainly feature 6th Sense on the mic as well as behind the boards. The overall feel is a more stripped down sound, with a focus on dense, multi-layered lyrics, with hardly any hooks or choruses.
More volumes are on the way and coming soon with different formats (more for free too). There's a whole lot more music that hasn't been heard yet.
4. Let It Breathe
5. Wherever You Are, There You Go
6. As Far As I Can Take It
7. Tastemaker Cosign
8. Take 6
9. It Is What It Is
11. In The Garden
12. Take 6 (Instrumental)
Be on the lookout for this one tomorrow (October 27th).
I was just bumpin' DJ Jazzy Jeff's The Vibe I'm On a few weeks back, and when I heard UNDRCRWN sorted out this mixape, I was into the idea. I'll be bumping this all week, getting ready to see This Is It with my mom on Friday. Enjoy this, and be sure to grab that commemorative t-shirt!

Braille "Give Myself": It's been a minute since I've covered new Braille music, so shouts to Bence for sending over this track from his forthcoming album, Weapon Aid. I've noticed a lot of love-driven Hip-Hop tracks coming out lately. Watch for my next compilation, which I plan to drop in the next couple of weeks. Enjoy this one.
Brother Nature "Mama's Lemonade": Here's a fresh slice of nostalgia from Brother Nature's Fresh Squeezed Lemonade mixtape, which they released in conjunction with 5 & A Dime. This theme really is on some "when life hands you lemons, make some lemonade" shit, and is a precursor to their Rob Viktum-produced album A Midsummer Night's Dream, which will also be released by 5 & A Dime. Shouts to Real J Wallace for hitting me with this one.
Random ft. Dual Core & Jermiside "DJ Hero" (prod. by DN3): I know I can't wait to get my mitts on DJ Hero, and apparently the homey MegaRan couldn't either; he links up with Jermiside and "nerdcore" crew Dual Core for this tribute track. Cuts by DJ LES 735 and c64 of Dual Core. Hit up Ran's Bandcamp page to download this, for free or a fee.
Here's a sick mix from the Chrome Kids camp that got played on BBC Radio Wales on my birthday (October 11th 2009):
Chrome Kids keep it in Dubstep territory for this half hour mix but with strong Hip-hop and Grime overtones. Starting with the big bass monsters, smoothing out a touch then getting twisted before leaving you on a high note. With a couple of original productions from crew members Monkey & Stagga. If you like the sound make sure you're a regular on the Chrome Kids Music Blog and if you want to book a DJ set e-mail Adam.

All of you dope producers, get on this one!
Sean Price ft. Poison Pen & Swave Sevah "Bars Of Death": Kimbo Price got passed to me earlier this week, with the thought that I don't pass it on. I was very good on not leaking the full mixtape... but it looks like it hit the scene release circuit, and I figured I'd have to post one of these beasts on RTD before it drops next week. If you dig gritty Hip-Hop, or just want to fuck with one of the illest mixtapes of 2009, you need to support this one on October 27th.
Strong Arm Steady ft. Talib Kweli "Get Started" (prod. by Madlib):
Here's a radio edit of a banger from the Stoney Jackson album between SAS and Madlib, dropping on Stones Throw in the near future. It sounds exactly as you'd expect it would... you reefer addicts might need to light one up for this one.
About a month ago, I went to post this up, and was asked to take it down. Since Talib Kweli himself posted this on twitter, I'm going to say this "final leak" from Stoney Jackson is fair game. Spotted over at Mixmaking Underground Explorers.
Download for the hilarious art, stay for the fresh tracks.

Good Biz ft. Brother J "Nowhere" (prod. by The ARE): When I interviewed Bobbie Fine back in April, he spoke about his new group, Good Biz, who were working on their album. Quay Devon, KP and B. Fine connect live Voltron, and over this neck-snappin' crack from The ARE, and a fresh 16 from the X-Clan's own Brother J, this is one you can't miss.
Bobbie just hit me back and let me know that anyone in the Portland area should hit up their show at the Adidas store downtown Portland on November 5th; they are also working on a mixtape to set up their Sound Investment album (which drops 1Q 2010) called The Bermuda Triangle that will be featuring talent from Houston, Portland and New Jersey, featuring artists from all three areas. I'll hit you with info on THAT when I get it. Until then, peep "Nowhere" and this bonus cut featuring the god YZ, which pays homage to The Originals (see how everything ties in together)!

Raekwon "Catalina" trailer
Shouts to Nah Right. And if you missed it, TSS sat down with Rakim. Enjoy that. And enjoy your weekend.
Scanz "Help Me (The Prayer Interlude)": If you're an up and coming MC in 2009, you've probably said this same prayer to yourself. The homey is working on his next album, Love.Life.Intention, and has also re-launched his blog (www.thefutureblog.com). Shouts to the homey Jared for this one!
Joker & Ginz Vs. Lil Scrappy & Young Buck "Re-Up For Money (Cable THUGSTEP Blend)": DJ Cable cooked up a blend of this a bit ago, but this one smashes the previous blend to PIECES! Given the recent fuckery, its funny as hell to me to hear Buck talk about 50 buying him whips. Filthy tune right here, CRANK IT!
Brown Bag AllStars "What It's All About" (prod. by DJ Dyllemma): Brown Bag Season, Day 28. Dope beats (from Dyllemma), ill cuts (from DJ Brace). What you REALLY know about Brown Bag? If this is your entry, get blown away, then rewind, fam. BBAS FTW.

Our commentary this week focused on the mainstream news cycle here in the United States covering the "Balloon Boy" missing person's hoax and the disparity of stories and news coverage of missing people in general who don't fit a certain prototype (especially those of People of Color & the poor) along with some other things here and there.
There are new episodes of the Direct EFX or Black Agenda Report segments this week.

BOOGNIGHTS "I Think I'm Dreaming": And now for a dreamy, drum-less track from BOOGNIGHTS, taken from the Get Right x Mixtape Wall Take Notes Vol. 1 mixtape. You should make this track a part of your life - you know you have dreams and aspirations, too - and you need to make that TAPE a part of your life. Not too many songs match the beats they coast over - this is the sound of a nigga in a dream, floatin' through clouds and shit. Dig in.
M-Dot "Backstabbers" (prod. by Gajos): Here's a new one from EMS' own M-Dot, over a fat beat that flips the O'Jay's "Backstabbers"; it definitely makes me think of grown-folk parties, but I guess I'm a grown nigga now, so this could be the soundtrack to my parties. Boston radio has already been showing this love, so why don't you?
The video for this was shot in LA by Zack Voytas, and should be out in due time. Musically Driven Over Time should be out soon, too.
I've been dropping leaks for this, and now Jermiside has given me the OK to post this impressive mixtape on you. 2009 has been the Year of Lessondary, so its only right that Jerm smacks the shit out of you with a quality tape, expertly mixed by DJ Low Key. Don't dare sleep on this, damnit. It's what you need.
DOWNLOAD Jermiside Die Jerm Die (mixed by DJ Low Key)
Big Kapitol "Salute" (prod. by WMS The Sultan): I think this might be the first time Big Kapitol has been featured on RTD, and this introduction is a doozy. WMS cooked up a heatrock of a beat for Big Kap to big up what he rides for. This is some nighttime rider music - turn up the subs in your whip and coast through the city around 10, 11 in the evening and rock out. Trenton keeps it proper, bitches.
Mr. Chop "T.R.O.Y.": Jeff from Stones Throw hit me up saying that Mr. Chop has a psych/funk/jazz album, covering Pete Rock's best beats entitled For Pete's Sake. This is his take on "T.R.O.Y."... I'm with Marty on this one - I'm not hearing much of the original, but this is dope on its own. Go grab that album!
The Beat Garden is taking over this all-ages show this Friday (October 23rd) at Mummers Hall in Philly. Should be a tight showcase! Passion of the Weiss has also posted Zilla Rocca's "Beatle Bitches" freestyle. Word is Curly Castro's mixtape is dropping... and another mixtape, soon come. Keep your eyes peeled!
Diamond District "Hologram": Fall is my favorite time of year, and there's nothing like fresh Fall music, which is exactly what this first single from the official release of Diamond District's In The Ruff is. This is one of those bangers that you blast loud in your headphones while waiting for the bus, or on your walk home from work.
Word is that Diamond District is a featured artist on MySpace Music; check them out, as today is the last day this is going down. In The Ruff drops on October 27th, but the singles for "Who I Be" and "I Need Business" are available now! Shouts to audible treats.

With word about court-ordered DNA testing in his forthcoming trial, TSS broke down what happened to a number of MCs who have spent time in jail in a piece that asks what if Weezy went to the bing?
EDIT Looks like that DNA has forced Weezy to plead guilty and get an 8 month bid, starting Feb. 2010. His albums should be out by then, and I have a feeling all of the Wayne/Young Money fans will keeps his name ringing out until then. And with the plethora of material he has out there, do you REALLY think he name won't be ringing out while he's gone?
EDIT Weezy plead guilty and got a one year sentence.
