Let me back up... the other day, my wife made plans for us to go to the Jersey Shore tonight with a friend of hers, and I figured "let's make a CD". I knew I had to include Eminem's "The Warning", b/c homegirl is a big Em fan. Now, we keep it fair and balanced (no Fox News) over here, so of course I had to throw in the "Obsessed" remix with Gucci Mane on it. As I was trying to piecemeal a tracklist for the hour-plus drive, I figured "why not throw in a bunch of tracks that I've messed with over this summer"and ish came together. Some of the inclusions are just ignant ("Gimme $20"), as I usually have one ignant Rap song that I play back-to-back over the summer (remember the Iconz' "Get Fucked Up"?). Others are straight undeniable jawns from the past few months ("Romping Shop", Mario's "Break Up", Drake's "Best I Ever Had"), which are also a testament to my increased listening to Hot 97 (big up to Nobex). Hell, I even included an interlude from the Hot 97 Morning Show with Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg! All of these tracks have gotten some play from me since the unofficial start of summer, and will likely be the tracks I remember from the Summer of '09. Check it out.

Come on, a trip to the Jersey Shore in 2009 and NOT including Cam's DJ Kaycee-biting "Spend The Night"? Pure blasphemy. These are the songs that will have me thinking about my first BlackBerry, or the humid nights in Jersey. Or my early mornings in my cubicle, streaming Hot 9-7. This is (a part of) my Summer of 2009 soundtrack, for good or ill.
