For February's FOTM: THUGSTEP post, I reintroduced all of you seekers out there to the "Drunk Gorilla". As you know, though, From Mississippi To Mars isn't all DJ Nappy refixes. DJ Cable and DJ Hipnotikk, aka the other 2/3 of HOODLUM, contributed some slammin' Stunna Mane refixes, and I wanted to give you a taste of their flyness before the full mixtape drops next week!Stunna Mane ft. Jay-OE, Kelso & Cimow vs. Armour "Imma Fool (DJ Hipnotikk Thugstep Mix)": ATL's Hipnotikk goes in for the epic intro... it's a quick calm before a bass-fueled storm, and a great pick on the Armour riddim. It's not spastic or having a lot going on - just a steady groove for these four to go ham over. Proper Dutty South flex.
Stunna Mane ft. Fiend & Mr. Serv-On vs. Emalkay "Throw Your Hood Up (DJ Cable THUGSTEP Refix)": I love how Cable hooked this one up. I loved it when I first heard it, and have been a fan ever sinc- even dropping it in my Super Bowl XLV mix from this past Sunday. That Emalkay track has some build-in funk, and a bangin' riddim that fits perfect with the hype lyrics from these cats.
