Elite Assembly "Welcome To The Playoffs"
Elite Assembly "Welcome To The Playoffs":With today being the official start of the 2010 NBA Playoffs, it makes sense that we leak the intro to the Elite Assembly's Welcome To The Playoffs mixtape, which drops on Monday, April 19th. It's jam-packed with a batch of beats and rhymes that will fuck up a lot of nigga's scorecards, and make some players reconsider what the fuck they're tryna do in this game here. Trust and believe.

PREX Celebrates 30 Years On Record Store Day
One of my favorite indie record shops, Princeton Record Exchange (right near Princeton Univ.), will be celebrating their 30th anniversary today, on Record Store Day. That's been my go-to spot since 1995 - I usually hit it up when I need some of that good EDM, or just rare Hip-Hop imports. The majority of the vinyl I own has come from that institution as well. I'll be there at some point today with the missus, as RSD hits during our anniversary weekend. Not sure what I'll be buying today (maybe the special 12" version of the Daedelus Righteous Fists Of Harmony EP), but I'm gonna cop something. Hit the jump for PREX's press release on this special occasion.

Gangland: Sex, Money Murder
Here's an episode of The History Channel's Gangland that took aim at the Sex Money Murder set of Bloods in my hometown, Trenton, NJ. This story has been causing an uproar locally, and I figured it was only right to showcase both sides. Hit the jump for the show, in two parts.

Braille "Up" (prod. by Xperiment): Here's a leak from Braille's Weapon Aid album, which drops on April 27th. Dude's a talent, and a deep thinker - this isn't background Rap. Hell, it even features the @KidHum-produced "Thinking Shoes", which was first heard on Offshore Drilling. J-Live "The Way That I Rhyme"
J-Live "The Way That I Rhyme" [mirror]: Here's a track that Justice Live unleashed to help promote his new website, j-livemusic.com. I'm just glad dude is still around - his All of The Above album ruled my Summer of 2002, and is an album that I bought when I went on one of my first dates w/ my now-wife. Sentimental, but it also held up over the years. Talented dude.Via Rappers I Know.

This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of April 14, 2010 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary.
The extended commentary for this week's show focused on a range of things, touching base on topics such as the Nuclear Summit that happened in Washington, DC, the recent rash of unfortunate natural disasters (earthquake in China, mudslides in Brazil, locust outbreak in Australia, etc.), the recent happenings with the Nas/Kelis divorce case & how (if in any way) it relates to marriage in general, the rash of meh to terrible music remakes and some other things here and there.
During this week's show, we had a great interview with California's own Independent Singer & Hip-Hop MC J. Ross Parrelli (http://www.myspace.com/MsParrelli; http://www.twitter.com/MsParrelli).
Some of the topics we covered in this in depth interview include J. Ross Parrelli's musical & environmental influences from her native area of California, her history in the music industry, international touring, what inspires her creatively to make music daily, the need for balance in Hip-Hop music, his viewpoint about the current state Hip-Hop music scenes, doing work within the community, past & future plans & music projects plus lots more!
There are brand new episodes of the Black Agenda Report and Direct EFX segments for this week's show.
Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast over at our official blog, BlackRadioIsBack.com - all of the shows are clean/radio friendly.

T-Pain ft. Lil' Wayne "Can't Believe It (Starkey Remix)"
T-Pain ft. Lil' Wayne "Can't Believe It (Starkey Remix)" [mirror]: Here's a free outtake from the recently-released Street Bass Anthems Vol. 4 compilation from the Seclusiasis click, who are at Fluid in Philly tonight with DZ. Damn. This remix is tough, builds on everything that's ill about their "street bass" movement. And the fact that Weezy used auto-tune on this just makes his voice fit that much nicer on Starkey's beat.Via 51:51.

The Mecca Of Rhymes, Jones Andrews & Young Rush "Trade It All"
The Mecca Of Rhymes, Jones Andrews & Young Rush "Trade It All" (prod. by Quietstorm): Here's a track about niggas who are devoted to being able to make Hip-Hop. Shit like this used to be so prevalent in the 1990s, but I think when the Clinton Era of Rap was in full-swing, niggas were hella diamond-struck. It's good to hear niggas on this shit, even if it's only cats who rep the underground, heavy. Mecca of Rhymes, Jones Andrews & Young Rush all rep the FSM crew, and this cut is taken from the FSM mixtape, First In Flight, Last To Land, which drops in late May.Bonus Beats Jones Andrews, The Mecca Of Rhymes & Young Rush "Never Leave You" (prod. by Boonie Mayfield)

L.E.G.A.C.Y. "I'm A Star" Maxi Single
The Month Of Mayhem moves on; this time, we get L.E.G.A.C.Y.'s "I'm A Star" in maxi-single format, including the original, three remixes (from 9th Wonder, RJ and PBS), a blended version (over Beanie Sigel's "Feel It In The Air" instrumental) and a B-Side, which is project Mayhem-album cut "Cold As A Butcher" (which is also produced by 9th Wonder). Damn, Leg's not fucking around! Hit the jump.

YNotMyDream Presents 1
After a couple of leaks, and their site being shut down, YNotMyDream is still here, and celebrating it's one-year anniversary with this ill mixtape. I've been knockin' this here and there since I got it, and I must say - well-done, people. Great tracks on here from the likes of Gerald Walker, Mike Schpitz, Orie, Eshoel and many more, and just a great thank you to the heads, as well as a peak into what's in store for a dope blog in the near future. Hit the jump for the goods.

Chapta ft. MiLKMEN "Gotta Do"
Chapta ft. MiLKMEN "Gotta Do": For their weekly leak, we get a cut from Chapta's upcoming album that drops May 30th. The MiLKMEN are working on their forthcoming Where's The Cereal? EP (which will feature a video for "On & On")... but we're getting ahead of ourselves. Is your girl playing games and not being direct? Blast this track and let them figure out how to speak their mind.Via .BreadedLemons.

The Gent$ "Award Tour"
The Gent$ "Award Tour" (prod. by Vanysh): DJ Booth will be dropping High Profile on the 28th of April, and this leak is right on point. Gotta love when cats can take a theme and really roll it out. Who wouldn't want a service table full of fried chicken, with a big brass soundtrack playing while you much? I need to go to an awards show like that!Via DJ Booth.

L.E.G.A.C.Y. ft. Keisha Shontelle "Project Mayhem"
May 17th will mark the 5 year anniversary of the debut album by L.E.G.A.C.Y. "Project Mayhem". The celebration will actually begin in April and is to be known as "The Month of Mayhem". The Month of Mayhem will have a slew of unreleased songs that could've been, should've been or would've been on Project Mayhem but for whatever reason didn't make the cut. We will revisit the album that many underground fans dub as a "classic" before possibly diving into to any new L.E.G.A.C.Y. material. The 1st unreleased song is actually the title track and was originally the 1st song on the album- "Project Mayhem" featuring Keisha Shontelle, produced by 9th Wonder and recorded somewhere between '02-'03.
