Rusko ft. Gucci Mane "Got Da Groove"

Rusko ft. Gucci Mane "Got Da Groove": Mainly posting this because I have questions: why has this song, taken from Rusko's OMG, not been blown up more? These are two blog darlings... have niggas been jammin' to this while I been sleepin'? Also, are these new Gucci lyrics? I don't hate myself enough to listen to a Gucci Mane album. I'm confused, and I'm jammin' out.

Armond ft. J. Carter "Beautiful Ashes"

Armond ft. J. Carter "Beautiful Ashes": I got introduced to Armond a bit ago on twitter, but sadly only heard his music last week while covering over at THHE. This is the first single off of his Snooze Button II project, which is set to drop via armondwakeup.com and the9elements.com on May 28th. I have a soft spot for that deeply open/introspective music, especially when it's over sly beats. Just coast...

KVBeats ft. Royce Da 5'9 & Pace Won "5'9+Won"

KVBeats ft. Royce Da 5'9 & Pace Won "5'9+Won": This cat KVBeats reps Denmark and has a producer album that he's been working on for like three years that's about to be complete. Dude has an impressive list of artists on it - aside from the leaks in this post, you've got cats like Oddissee, Doo Wop, Prince Po, DV Alias Khryst and many more. Monster of a beat over here, with two capable lyricists going in. Don't sleep!

The Roots "Dear God 2.0"

The Roots "Dear God 2.0": On this How I Got Over single, Black Thought speaks his mind on some of life's ills, questioning God about whagwarnin'. Just saw some footage about the Nashville floods... then when you think about all of the death and strife and pain in the world... can you hear us, God?

Drake ft. Young Jeezy "Unforgettable"

Drake ft. Young Jeezy "Unforgettable [radio rip]": Drake rapping > Drake doing anything else. First impression? I fucks with this. I was talking to @EnigmatikBGDB, and we thought that the Jeezy-feature might be the best track from the album. So far, that's correct. And an Aaliyah sample always works. I don't know, the closer the date comes, the more I wanna hear Thank Me Later.

MiLKMEN ft. T.I. "I'm Back Freestyle": Here's a cut from the MiLKMEN's Served With Milk & Honey mixtape, which is set to drop next week on DatPiff.com. I definitely did not like this when T.I. first got on it, but cats are murdering it and making me change my mind. If this is the bar to judge the tape... wow - get ready!

The Two. Fifteens "Downtown Jiggin'"

The Two. Fifteens "Downtown Jiggin'": The duo FKA The Amps... have a new album on the horizon, Effective When Used After, due out Summer 2010. I've been waiting to hear the album, but alas, this cut did not make the final product. Good thing is, they are nice people and are giving this track away for free. @EnigmatikBGDB said this sounds like "music to build bombs to", and I don't think he's far off the mark. I'm afraid to tell you to throw this on in your whip - you might damage them speakerboxes! Heavy sounds, and more where this came from, trust we!

Drake Thank Me Later Cover+Tracklist

All of the hype will come to a head on June 15th. I don't think Drake has anything to worry about, but we're still like 3 weeks away from arguably the most anticipated album of 2010. Here's the official tracklist:

The Roots How I Got Over Cover+Tracklist

Last week, I asked heads on twitter what Hip-Hop albums they were looking forward to this summer, and a lot of them said the new album from The Roots. Def Jam has this coming out on June 22nd (a week after Drake's Thank Me Later), and I hope it comes out on time. This might also be one of the shortest Roots LPs ever. Don't know why I mentioned that, just seems odd.

Tracklist:

1. Walk Alone (Truck North, Porn, Dice Raw, Mercedes Martinez)
2. Dear God 2.0 (Jim James, MOF)
3. Radio Daze (Blu, Porn, Dice Raw, Mercedes Martinez)
4. Now Or Never (Phonte Coleman, Dice Raw)
5. How I Got Over (Dice Raw)
6. The Day (Blu, Phonte Coleman, Patty Crash)
7. Right On (Joanna Newsom, Sugar Tongue Slim)
8. Doin It Again (John Legend)
9. The Fire (John Legend, Rick Friedrich)

Wow - STS, Blu AND Phonte make appearances? Shouts to RR.

EDIT Okayplayer says that this tracklist was missing a few tracks:

10. Web 20/20 (Truck North, Peedi Crakk)
11. Bonus Cut

Word is that there are 3 or 4 unnamed interludes, and the bonus track's name is not known as of yet. The listening session for this LP is tonight (5/20/10), so yeah, we'll see what comes about.

T. Hemingway ft. Versis "Slow Down"

T. Hemingway ft. Versis "Slow Down": Word from Apple Juice Break is that this is the first public track that T. Hem and Versis have put out together. Word is T did a bunch of production on Versis' new project, so you gotta figure this shit is gonna be dope. Has a dope throwback sound, Ummah-esque, which fits Versis' style perfectly. Something about these 17-19 year old rappers coming from the unda, loads of talent. So grown, too.

DeeDotMillz "Just Friends"

DeeDotMillz "Just Friends": Here's an interesting cut from Detroit's @DeeDotMillz, taken from his mixtape The Title You Expected, which is set to drop on May 25th via Signed To You. Dude raps over a lot of found sounds on this tape (like Duffy, Alicia Keys and more), and this one has a nice island flair to it, with dude expounding on what friends are and can do for you, for good or ill. You know the routine. Check it out!

Keno x Amor Jones "Don't Care What You Think"

Keno x Amor Jones "Don't Care What You Think" (prod. by Nefarious!): Haven't had new Amor music to drop since Dec. 2009, so it's good to hear some new material from him, especially over a dope Nef beat. The track's subject matter is exactly what the title says - maybe with a subtitle like "fuck yo thoughts!", you smell me?

Chali 2na "Gadget Go Go"

Chali 2na "Gadget Go Go" (prod. by Rusko): And you guys thought "thugstep" was just a catchy name. Niggas know. I was on the jack with DJ Nappy last week, putting him onto the strides the scene has made since he left. He was impressed. I know the server is dunzo, but I'm gonna have ALL of that ish back up this summer, trust we. Anyways, this banger has Chali styling perfectly to Fish Market Part 2this Rusko joint. The good folks at Dot Got It and Ill Cuts have collaborated for a sick project right here. What do you think are some of the defining years of Hip-Hop? Depending on when you were born, some might say 1988, while others might say 1994. In proper classic Hip-Hop form, DGI and IC figured, let's battle it out. Manik & Kontrol "Fuck You Buddy"

Manik & Kontrol "Fuck You Buddy": I'm a sucker for Philly/Bmore Club music, and with recently being introduced to @DJManik, I got sent over a little treat from Manik + Kontrol's The Snowed In EP, which was made while Kontrol visited Philly for a month during the Northeast's numerous snowstorms earlier this year. This is just amazing - the track is a straight middle finger with a wind to ya waist, but the video is just the icing on the cake. Next time a motherfucker gets on your nerves, blast this, and when 'NAH MUTHA FUCK YOOOU' comes on, point right at them.

The Snowed In EP will be available on iTunes, Amazon and whatever other shops have the balls to carry ill Club music.

TheSeKondElement "Girls Clockin"

TheSeKondElement "Girls Clockin": Not very often when a track about people jockin' someone's style drops some vocabulary words pon that ass. This track is an introduction to TheSeKondElement - well, it starts with people buggin' over her "tomboy fresh", but it dives into the whole industry flippin' for her style. She recently dropped The Kommencement LP, which you can grab via Bandcamp right now. You know I love hearing diverse sounds, and homegirl definitely has skills and charm in one tomboy fresh-ly wrapped package.

Drake "Find Your Love (DJ Ted Smooth Remix)"

Drake ft. 3D "Find Your Love (DJ Ted Smooth Remix)": Most people wanted to choke Drizzy out when they heard "Find Your Love", but with Ted Smooth throwing the classic "Shook Ones Pt. 2" instrumental under Drake's crooning, this works much better. Not sure who 3D is, but I'm not mad. Reminds me of the late '90s.
