Mic Wilson Phase Two

While I'm not sure he realized it, after presenting Mic Wilson's Square One: My Radio, it's fitting that Phase Two drops on my birthday, no? Not only do you get the full version of "Follow Along", but you get Michael Scott clips, introspective lyrical wizardry, and a grip of bangers from YN's lil' brother. One of the best birthday presents I've gotten in a while! Hit the jump for PreZZure's thoughts on the project, and of course the links to dload the opus.

While creating a "Phase Two" I took a step back from the real world. For the past 6 months I've been on a journey trying to figure myself out. As an artist, music has been my audio diary to inform listeners of what I've been up to, meanwhile it's a safety blanket to keep me from dealing with more personal issues. I don't share personal feelings outside of my lyrics. I tend to shell those away and keep a poker face in front of society. I can't vent frustrations in public forms (blogs, twitter, facebook, etc). I enjoy privacy and handling certain emotions in a more straight forward approach. Since "Square One" I felt the need to take time off and revaluate how I'm living. Without going through all the details I've been growing as a person. Before when I made music I used the process to escape from my problems and shield myself. The problem is that only works short term cause once a song or project is done, it's back to reality. I've learned to deal my problems without having music as a backbone. Through trail and error I feel I've matured more and it shows in the way I carry myself. I feel in life we're all a work in progress and I feel I'm on the right path at this point in time. For me "Phase Two" is my favorite body of work I've ever created. I feel I executed my ideas and made project that can be enjoyed from start to finish. My biggest influences while recording "Phase Two" were Beastie Boys "Licensed To Ill", The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and The Black Keys "Brothers". Those albums really have been my soundtrack for the past few months. When you observe great bodies of work they inspire you to make a great body of work. I strive to be great. I strive to be better. I strive to be happy. Now if I can borrow your ears for 38 minutes, it will be greatly appreciated. Welcome to "Phase Two". Thank you.
