Phace Returns With His New Album, 'Evil P'

Hah I'm loving this. I hadn't heard from the homey Phace in a minute, but his new album Evil P found its way into my inbox, and I'm digging it. Raw, blunted Jersey flavor right here. Feels like Evil P is Phace's Slim Shady; not on some super scienfitical rah rah, but more on some uncut microphone abuse.

Production on this project comes from DJ Bazooka Joe, Aurc, TruMentillz, and more, with Sol Zalez, Gentum, and Agonyze among the featured MCs.

You can snag Evil P via Phace's website for free or a donation. If you're digging this, give the man some cheddar. Stream the full project below.

Phace - American Failure

This dropped around the time Jay-Z dropped Magna Carta Holy Grail, but this Jersey feast might go down better for the backpack, raw hip-hop set. Phace is one of the homies and always comes correct, especially when he brings in the likes of Skrewtape, Rich Mahogany, Pryme Prolifik, Gentum, and a plethora of other spitters. Put something in the air and enjoy that Jersey rap life.

#JFJ Hot Outside

Hot outside. Very hot. The thing with the Terracycle spot is that it's great and in the cut, but it also has no shade/trees in the open area. I'm in a secret chamber of the building doing this post right now. I am reserved in the fact that I've not met my personal quota, but it just wasn't happening. I got to see a lot of my local Jersey fam though: Tone Liv, Self, Black Collar Biz, Phace, Skrewtape and plenty more cats have been here. Seen FEED rock with Divine Drummah, as well as saw King Don (above) and KV do their thing. I got to meet neph from thehiphophead.net, and I'm still waiting on seeing cats like Daniel Joseph and Jermaine.

Shit, word just hit from Jermaine - the Trenton Police shut the music down. I saw them earlier making the vendors move out of the way, but the music had been at a VERY decent level. Might be a permit issue. What the fuck?!?! Hit the FB for images and shit, we'll see what's good.

Jersey Fresh Jam 2012 Set Times

On August 11th, the Jersey Fresh Jam is going down. I'm going to be out there early, live-blogging on this very site throughout the event. I saw Kasso posted the set times for the performances, and wanted to throw them up here, just in case you are planning on coming out and wanted to see when heads would be performing. Not sure if this is subject to change, but consider it law for now.

Sol Zalez - Reisende

Not sure what's good, but I'm digging the Jersey Underground dropping these fly projects on us for $free.99. One cat I always saw this summer at the Garden Variety shows in Trenton was Sol Zalez, but we never builded. No worries, homey speaks through these tracks, and this is some straight up Hip-Hop for you. Back to the essence with cuts like "Uprock 4 Me" dip right into weeded journies like "So High". Not too many features, aside from cats like Tone Liv and Phace, with beats from The Custodian Of Records, DJ A Sharp and DJ Priority (among more). Short and sweet, but there's a lot going on here. Take that ride.

Tone Liv - Jersey's Junk Yard Dog

Been waiting for this one all Summer, it seems. Randomly and unexpectedly, Tone Liv drops his Jersey's Junk Yard Dog, further establishing himself as Jersey's Rap Mayor. You think I'm joking? Not only does the production ring true to his keen ear for heatrocks, he features a cornucopia of Jersey's Underground, with cats like Daniel Joseph, Sol Zalez, Mr. Fickle, Rhymageddon, Venomous2000, Phace, Blackout, B. Stilt and more. Jersey's all I know, indeed. This is straight pitbull off the chain Rap, niggas.

Terrible 2sum ft. HimDot "5 In The Mornin"

Why yes, I'm definitely the kind of nigga who drops tracks about plotting in the early morning at 5PM. Terrible 2sum is the homey Phace and Gentum, and is straight up drive-by music. Well, not the shit you blast when you're actually blastin' niggas, but the shit you're plotting to, cleaning hammers and loading clips. Niggas can still drive other niggas to merk each other in 2011, don't get it twisted. Don't slip up and write them wolf tickets, troop - it could be you!

Steve Smiff ft. Phace "Outta Spite Freestyle"

If you missed the Street Dreamz, Vol. 1 mixtape that Smiff put out last month, you definitely slept on this cut from that tape. Well, it's so dope, they felt the need to sort you out with an untagged version, both dirty and clean (for you niggas who actually play music pon the radio). Two of NJ's finest right here, representing and dismantling this track. Enjoy that.

DJ A Sharp Presents A-List, Vol. 6

Here's the sixth installment of DJ A Sharp and Phace's A-List mixtape series, which is aimed at showcasing that NJ Hip-Hop talent. This tape alone features heads like Tone Liv, Steve Smiff, Tenacity, Skrewtape, DJ Absurd, Arty McFly, Sol Zalez and more. Straight '90s appeal to this one - you know you remember those dope series that you couldn't just wait to hear the next installment of? That's the flavor of the A-List. They are always looking for new material, but have a few points of criteria: 1) must be fresh material, 2) no censorship or edited version and 3) no candy rap! If this means you, I'd say hit up @Asharp79 and @Phace_973 on twitter.

Tranzformer x EQ ft. Tenacity & Phace "Stop!"

Tranzformer x EQ ft. Tenacity & Phace "Stop!": Here's some fly shit featuring a pair of ill MCs from the Garden State. You already should know about Tranzformer's production - he flips styles crazy, and everything is just fly. This is something a bit darker, with that sub that you won't even get the impact of if your car audio system isn't on point. Shit to plot capers to, forreal. Shouts to Phace for putting me onto this one.
