KRS-One is working on a new "stop the violence" track with something like 50+ Hip-Hop MCs. Now, being that he is Hip-Hop, and that he has done tracks with acts both big and small, who do you think will be included on this track? Niggas like 50 Cent, The Game, Cassidy, Fat Joe, Rick Ross and others...Now props to him for including cats like Iriscience, Talib Kweli, MC Lyte and others, but why not approach other niggas like Mos Def, dead prez, Kanye West, Nas, Common or cats like that? Where's Black Thought, or just some niggas who might actually have something to say? I have a super hard time believing a nigga like 50 Cent when he says "stop the violence" when his whole career is due to exploiting violence, regardless of his situation.
I figure they need the exposure, but little kids ain't worrying about that. You can't put out one good track then get caught with drugs or gats or slappin' kids. It has to be more of a lifestyle. Something niggas see and associate with you - not a tax write-off.
In any case, a teaser of this will be released on Feb. 18th, so when I hear it or find audio, I'll post it.
