This weekend was totally devoted to Jay-Z... well, I played the SHIT out of "Blue Magic", and realized it's one of my favorite tracks of 2007. The Pharrell singing on the hook is neither bad nor great, but it's all about Jay taking it back. You can hear a hunger there, and I love how he flips the old school style, especially on the 3rd verse (reminded me of Special Ed's "I'm The Magnificent" kind of flow). Too fucking dope.
I came home Saturday night, and wouldn't you know they did a trailer... for the single!? Word is Hype Williams is working on the official video right now, but this one is just too ill. It's got people hand-to-handing the SINGLE, as if it was real product. Love how it was done. Check it out:
