the least jiggy and the most no frills.
smokeYYY hit me early with this post, alerting me to the sudden passing of Bernie Mac. I didn't want to believe it; I knew he was in the hospital since the 1st of August with pneumonia, but recent reports (as of last night) said he would be leaving the hospital soon. The Chicago Sun-Times (and the Post Chronicle) are both reporting that he passed early this morning, though. I am holding out hope for some reason, mainly waiting for the national media to pick up on this.

Allegra "Comic Book Luv": I need more t-shirts with cassettes on them. In any case, check out this joint from Allegra's forthcoming Welcome 2 My World EP. Homegirl showcases her singing AND her rhyming on this slower-joint, about her wanting a hero in her life. She's 17, fam, so slow your role before applying...

Ludacris ft. T.I. "Wish You Would": ATL's finest (well, two of them) link up on this bottom-heavy scorcher. Sounds like Luda's LP finna be a PROBLEM!
FurSun "A Millie And Two": Trenton's own FurSun goes for broke over Lil' Wayne's "A Millie". This is off of his X-Men: The Last Stand mixtape, that's in the works right now. He's mixing freestyles with original jawns, including his hot remix of Jeezy's "Put On" which DEFINITELY has to be heard. Young, fresh cats coming out of NJ, better believe...

Freddie Foxxx ft. 2Pac "Killa": Jump in that wayback machine and immerse yourself in this dream match-up from the Crazy Like A Foxxx release.
The Americans "One Night Stand": Thursdays seem to be my days to flip something a bit different to the people. Here's a crew formed by former Hysterics member Charlie Klarsfeld called The Americans. The Americans' EP is dropping on iTunes in a few weeks, but you can hear it over on their MySpace page right now. It's produced by Charlie, who brought in the Dap Kings to give some life to his work. Nice Pop/Rock tunes with an RnB feel. Highly recommended, kind of reminds me of Stereolab but not as quirky, and with more traditional instruments.
Sugar Tongue Slim "Demand More Freestyle #5": This freestyle was originally made exclusive for rock the dub, but after it appeared in STS' ?uestlove Sneaker Release video, he has been getting crazy hits over it, and rolled it over to #5. This is over MF Doom's "Next Levels" instrumental, and is a perfect introduction into Sugar Tongue's world. Dude kicks that shit effortlessly over the beat.
Raphael Saadiq is set to bring back that Soul sound with his latest album, The Way I See It, which drops on September 16th, and is sample-free. Peep the tracklist:1. Sure Hope You Mean It

Fire on the mic, tight beat... what more could you ask for!?
Sugar Tongue Slim, Killer Mike, Chamillionaire, Asher Roth & KRS-One "A Millie (rock the dub Mega Mix 3)": After the 2nd "A Millie" Mega Mix I did, i wanted to hold off until I got some verses I could feel. Finally got 'em. Another 12-minute opus, flexing varying styles over Weezy's beat. Enjoy!

Jesus Christ, do questions get answered or WHAT?!!? Yesterday, I speculated that Morgan Freeman might have been tricking out, getting some road head, and that could possibly have been the reason for his car crash on Sunday. I flip through some sites, and today he's confirmed that he's getting a divorce after 24 years of marriage:Days after he was involved in a serious car accident, a friend of “Dark Knight” star Morgan Freeman confirmed to Access Hollywood that the actor is getting a divorce.
Freeman and his wife of 24-years, costumer Myrna Colley-Lee, “are involved in a divorce action,” the actor’s Mississippi-based attorney and business partner Bill Luckett told Access Hollywood. “And for legal and practical purposes, [Freeman and Colley-Lee] have been separated since December of 2007.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Freeman was involved in an accident over the weekend, which saw the car he was driving flip. The actor and his female passenger, identified as Demaris Meyer, were driving on Mississippi Highway 32 in a rural area of Tallahatchie County at 11:30 PM on Sunday evening, when Freeman’s car went off the right side of the road and flipped over.
Freeman and Meyer, who has been described as the actor’s friend, were on the way to Freeman’s home when the accident occurred.
AZ & Papoose "Knowledge Is Freedom": Not much info on this, from the email I just got. The MP3's "Album" tag says Certifyd, but I'm not up on if that's a forthcoming project from AZ or Pap. In any case, both brothas kick some knowledge; my man said "I'm the Spook by the door". Get involved.
This shot and more over at The YBF.
Pinc Gator & Mordecai "Grind Gon' Shine": Spotted this dope track and that hilarious picture from BGDB's interview with Pinc Gator. Dude did a joint with Shaq as well!?? You can hear that on Pinc's site.
Re-Up Gang "Emotionless (badmammal remix)": Shouts to my boy badmammal. He's making all kinds of music, and its good to hear him bring that leftfield vibe to some dirty Hip-Hop. Truth be told, everyone flocked to the Clipse based off of them going for broke over the quirky ditties that the Neptunes would give them, and oddly enough, that's what's missing from their latest. Maybe they need to hire badmammal for some heat?
Cymarshall Law & Mr. Joeker "Out Of The Rain (ft. Mary Lou)": This is the second single from Cy & Joeker's Hip Hop In The Flesh, which drops on Freedom Entertainment on November 4th; the album features also KRS-One, Skit Skam and Supastition, and is definitely a dope piece of Hip-Hop flavor.
The boy Enigmatik hooked up this mix, celebrating Jamaica's 46th year of independence.
Wafeek "Let The Beat Die Backwards": My homey Trackstar sent me this last night, and I figured I'd sort you guys out with this heatrock. Fans of The Lighthouse Project got introduced to Wafeek on Disc 2, and this time he takes a rearranged version of Lil' Wayne's "Let The Beat Build" and massacres it. Definitely check it out.
Bryan Cox "Let's Go To Work (Mustard Pimp Remix)": Wow. Just wow. Lovin' these glitchy club bangers. Mustard Pimp is reppin' France, and bringing the hectic funk to this Bryan Cox cut. Just downright funkytown fun.
Manic "Killers Theme 2008" [mirror]: My boy Burt Fox hit me with this post, detailing Manic's "Killers Theme 2008", which is an updated of Mobb Deep & Cormega's "Killaz Theme", jackin' up the BPM and the echo box, creating a wild riddim that hovers over the dancehall in a coked-out cloud. Epic sounds, bredren. DJs, get on this one.
Sugar Tongue Slim "Demand More Freestyle #4": This week, STS flips Nas' "Hero", speaking on what he sees in America, his idea of a hero, and various other points. Dude is slayin' you niggas with these Demand More freestyles!
Just checking the 'Net, saw that Morgan Freeman has had surgery today, following the accident he was in on Sunday. People reports:"Morgan is doing well after his surgery last night to reconnect nerves and repair damage in his left arm and hand," his spokesperson, Donna Lee, said in a statement Tuesday.
"The surgery last night lasted four and a half hours. He's visiting with family this morning. As of this morning he's up and walking around and looking forward to his release in a few days."
Mac Edwards, a consultant for Freeman's Ground Zero Blues Club, spoke with the actor's business partner in that venture on Tuesday.
The partner, who is visiting with Freeman in the hosital, reported, "Morgan is up and walking around. He's really sore, but he's doing better. He's hoping to be out of the hospital by Thursday."
Joe Budden "Touch & Go": Check out the club-ready new single from Jump Off's Padded Room, which is set to drop on Amaglam on October 28th. I'm personally not big on this record, especially after the banger that is "Who" still getting regular spins on my MP3 player. I hope Padded Room has more of the "10 Minutes" Joey than this.1.) Now I Lay
2.) Touch N Go
3.) If I Gotta Go
4.) Blood On The Wall
5.) Don’t Make Me
6.) In My Sleep
7.) Outcast
8.) I Couldn’t Help It
9.) Do Tell
10.) My Life
11.) Better Me
12.) Just to Be Different
13.) Angel In My Life
14.) Pray For Me
Dutch NewYork "Addiction Freestyle": This Ryan Leslie beat is crazy; my homey Dutch NewYork decided to do it justice. This freestyle comes from Dutch's forthcoming The P.I. Mixtape, which is the precusor to his Perfect Imperfection album.
Shouts to Azage for hitting me with this monster of a mixtape, Follow My Lead, which is hosted by DJ Scratchez. Dude represents the ATL, and isn't stuck on that normal trap rap/shoot 'em up shit. You gotta respect the hood love gone bad tale of "Creepin'", or his fresh bars over classic beats like "Shadowboxin'" (on "Texas Pete"), or his flip of Madonna's "4 Minutes". Very interesting work here, you'd be a fool to sleep on this.
The Paxtons ft. A-Ko "Bless You": The Paxtons represent DC by way of Southside Chicago, and have a nice vibe about them. The blast sent over like 5 tracks over, but I posted this one specifically for the flute x sleigh bells in that beat. Their Members Only mixtape (which is hosted by DC's DJ Premonition) will be dropping this month, so hold tight for it. If you guys like these and want more, I'll drop more of the links I was sent.
Yesterday, Knick (of Evol Intent, Ludachrist & Minus Music) posted on DOA that he had some "glitchy dubstep" tunes he wrote in a week, then lost all motivation on the project. After some serious begging, he's offered up 3 tunes to the masses, for free. So, check out these tunes from Knick's Bro Safari guise (here's a mirror).
