BOOGNIGHTS "This Time (Remix)" (prod. by J-Killah aka GOLD): Here's a cut that BOOGNIGHTS passed to me; some of that New Spit that you should give a listen to. I honestly know nathan about dude, aside from his tweets, but I like what I'm hearing here, from the slick bars to the smooth beat from GOLD. Give it a spin...
Mike Schpitz ft. Tona & Adullessence "Sucka MCs (Remix)": The "Sucka MCs" video should be out in two weeks (October 13th), but for right now, LoveJones linked with the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen for this "Sucka MCs" remix! Lovin' how this one came off to be honest - sounds like a live band beneath them, right? This and the "Get Up (Remix)" will be featured on the iTunes version of the album, so get ready for that.
Jovi Rockwell "Killin' Dem": I was diggin' Jovi's sound - she had that real Reggae sound in her tunes; her feature on the Major Lazer album was straight roots dub. This one? Sounds like a Gwen Stefani, straight up. This is taken from her Psycho Therapy mixtape, which drops on October 19th. I'm hoping the rest of the tape isn't sounding like this...
Britney Spears "3" (prod. by Max Martin): Brit goes in on some club-happy shit this go round. I actually mess with Britney when she's not doing the usual - I'm not saying I'm blasting this in my headphones, but I appreciate the steps outside of her box (or whatever box people thing she belongs in) and does something different.
This is taken from her forthcoming singles collection.
Shouts to Team Supreme.
EDIT MITHOOS has just posted some updated tracklists for the collection, including the "Ultimate Fan Box", which features singles b/w their B-sides - lots of remixes!
01. Big Boi ft. George Clinton & Too $hort - For Yo Sorrows
02. LL Cool J - NCIS (No Crew Is Superior)

05. Crooked I ft The Undergods - Die Big Time

09. Lloyd ft Juelz Santana - Pusha
10. K-Hard ft. Lord Tariq & Distruck - Against All My Enemies
11. Joell Ortiz - 50 For The People
12. Saigon - Martian Alien Flow
13. Cashis – LindenBerg
14. Ya Boy - We Ready
15. Distruck - Celebrate
16. Tip Tha Ill Spit - Follow Me
Highbrid Nation keeps it thoro.
Old Money "RZA's Rings": This cut is featured on A Nightmare On Your Street, and the illRoots fam allowed them to let this one go. That hook, with the Bobby Digital "do-do-do-do-do-do" shit kills me; it also has some funky-ass breakdowns. Just some FUN music, nahmean?
Nato Caliph ft. Vast Aire "LogarithMIC" (prod. by DJ Crucial): Last night I hit you with the final version of "Beer Summers"; this time, we have another leak from Nato's Knowledge + Cipher album. The previous leak featured Naledge, and this time 1/2 of Cannibal Ox, Vast Aire, drops his sinister bars on this lush beat from Crucial. Both MCs expound on being "slaves to the rhythm", and this cut demands repeat listens.
Expect the album version to sound better - Nato tells me this version is rough. Enjoy!
previous Nato Caliph ft. Naledge "Irrelevant"
Well, Botchmania 99 bit the dust mad early, and the Best Of Botchmania dropped the other day. I had been wondering where #100 was, and it looks like Maffew was having problems uploading, so here it is... until it gets taken down by YouTube:
Is he stopping at #100? I hope not...
Wes Fif speaks the truth on this one - instead of waiting around to see who was going to take over and be the big dog, why wait - let these niggas learn by YOUR example. Fif goes in with Spinatik on the decks, throwing down some tracks you should be up on ("Fuck Nigga") alongside some newer material. Some gritty get right music for a #musicmonday.
DOWNLOAD Wes Fif & DJ Spinatik Just Watch Me
Wordsmith "Soul Baby Blues" (prod. by Strada): While Bridging The Gap has been available online for the last couple of months (I believe), the CD won't hit stores until mid-October. Here's the new single from the album. I need a physical copy to see if my writing(s) are still in it. I put some work in on that. Anyways, enjoy this glimpse into a pretty fresh album, and cop that CD when it hits shelves!
For some reason I snoozed on posting the debut of Hellz Yea!'s #musicmonday series. I'll keep them all in one dedicated post, and update it weekly. Gotta love how much of an impact twitter is having on our lives... or not.
Nato Caliph ft. Earthworms "Beer Summers" (prod. by DJ Crucial): Yes, I know, summer's gone, and the Beer Tab EP has already dropped, but the homey Nato hit me with the final version of his contribution to the release, "Beer Summers". Find some fresh cuts on the chorus, and just an overall better-quality version of this banger. Crack a cold one and reminisce on the summer of 2009...
EDIT I'll have a new track form Nato to post tomorrow morning.
This is the interview where he comments on his ideas about coming out of jail as a starting QB:
I'm going to chalk it up to a locked-down nigga's dream. There was no way he was coming out of the bing with a starting QB position, especially in Philadelphia, where McNabb will be the starting QB until they stop smoking that shit and let him go.
EDIT Maybe this is why he isn't starting yet:
Here's an hour-long interview taken from the recent The Chronic: Re-Lit And From The Vault re-release on Death Row; its from 1997, and has Dr. Dre breaking down his work as a producer and such:
V.S. "Things Are Changing" (prod. by RADA Tha Rebeliouz): And here's today's wake-up call. This premiered on DJ Scratch's "Please Listen To My Demo" show (which is a major feat in and of itself), but the actual track is a banger. Dude's actually rhyming about shit that is pertinent to life. Whether its music or just trying to live, you can feel what V.S. is kickin' over that slick beat from RADA. I've been saying this a lot, but this is some perfect, crispy Fall music. Favorite time of year.
Shouts to DJ SAV*ONE for helping spread that true shit.
Mario ft. Gucci Mane "Break Up (Ted Smooth Remix)" [clean \ dirty]: YOU REMEMBER! On the real, "Break Up" is one of my joints for no good reason. I wanna say its just the beat, but its the whole track, even ignant ass GUCCI! Ted Smooth, remix and blender extraordinaire, flipped Missy Elliott's "All N My Grill", and even does that repetitive snare hit thing, and revamps this one. Excellent blend - for more, get familiar.
HF024 - Scuba - Aesaunic EP
Release date: 19 October 2009
Format: 2x12" and digital on Beatport.com
Hotflush Recordings presents a new EP from Scuba, following on from the success of his Klinik/Hundreds and Thousands 12” (HF022) earlier this year. Over the five tracks Scuba covers the full spectrum of his sound, developing the house and techno influenced dubstep that has been such a feature of 2009 and wading into new territory with Symbiosis, a half-time 170bpm excursion that has been supported by dBridge and Instra:mental on their seminal Autonomic podcast.
B1. Flesh Is Weak
I've always enjoyed Scuba's work - different styles, dubstep-wise. Scoop this one up, early, and keep your eyes peeled for more from Hotflush.

- DJ Eclipse's "Halftime Show" Tribute To Roc Raida
Here's a video I missed from posting this week:
Freeway ft. Jakk Frost "We Run This"
Should be a good weekend - enjoy it!
Spotted this tribute show over on Steady Bloggin'; I'll just quote what I saw over there:
On Sunday night I threw together a short Roc Raida tribute set at the beginning of my Sirius show. On Monday night Premier and I held our monthly “Like They Used To Say” party at APT which we dedicated to Roc Raida and were able to raise over $4,000 for his family. On Wednesday night I wanted to do a proper tribute show so I contemplated on what to do. As I compiled every song I could that Raida was featured on (production or scratches) I thought it would be better to reach out to his friends and get their take on what the man meant to them. What started out as a dozen or so people that I intended to talk to snowballed into phone call after phone call of friends wanting to share stories. Please forgive me if I left out someone’s name (or misspelled) in this email, but following is a list of who called or showed up at station (no particular order).
Boogie Blind, Daddy Dog, Roli Rho, Kuttin Kandi, Riz, JS-1, Jab, Sugar Cuts, Neil Armstrong, Fat Fingaz, Q-Bert, Mixmaster Mike, A-Trak, J-Rocc, Babu, Rhettmatic, Scratch, Revolution, Rahzel, Bobbito, A.G., Lord Finesse, Dr. Butcher, Vin Roc, DJ Grouch, Freestyle, Spictakular, Shortkut, Supreme and Tame One.
We ended up going an hour longer then we should have. In between calls I found some old cassette tapes of radio show appearances by the X-Men. I hope you enjoy listening to the show as much as I did. Thanks to the whole Halftime crew for making this run smooth; Skizz, Petey Cologne and Marz One. To everyone that showed up or called in….I love you all.
R.I.P. Grand Master Roc Raida. We’re going to miss you.
When producer extraordinaire The Jake asked if I'd be interested in putting out his "A Life So Sweet" single digitally on RTD Records, it was a no brainer. He sent me rough copies of "A Life So Sweet" and the B-Side, "The Essence", and I was in awe. Amazing stuff.
Here's the full tracklist:
1. Life So Sweet ft. Bashwon, Mallz, Crew54, Kakalak GAT, Epiphany Blu, & Lex
2. Life So Sweet (Instrumental)
3. The Essence ft. Rashid Hadee, K-Hill, Keisha Shontelle, Diablo Archer, & MicSource
4. The Essence (Instrumental)
5. Cakin' (Good Money) ft. T.W.I.C.E. & Deal The Villain
This is the promo for A Slice Of Cake; I don't have release dates for either release, but hold tight, fam. Soon come.
It's been a minute since I've posted the music of F.Stokes; the heads from The Dirty Disco Kidz hit me up with their remix of his Death Of A Handsome Bride EP, and its sick. Forever I Love Madison combines the raw lyrics of Stokes with the throwback to the future production of DDZ. I put my stamp on it, but then again, who the fuck am I? Check this out NOW, then send the creators of this some love.
LONG HAIR DON'T CARE "OK People": Here's a lil' something different for you. LONG HAIR DON'T CARE = Sam Han, aka 1/2 of Hans Beck and the producer for the Danyelliott podcast, and Victor of Boy Crisis and Das Racist. Sam said it sounds like "Quasimoto meets Silkie...or something"; I can see that, but I'm thinking more like Aphex Twin on less acid and more herb. It has some of those somber IDM melodies in it, with those skittery drums that you like, with that subtle vocalizing overtop. It's awesome, and I want to hear more!
Earlier this month, I hit you with "Mary Jane" from Keyel; I told you their mixtape was dropping today... guess what I have here? The sounds on this are perfect like a crispy, cool Fall morning. If you like taking walks or slow drives, burn this one, then burn something. Do yourself a favor and download this Cleveland, Ohio crew's fresh tape.
DOWNLOAD Keyel Keyel Vol. 1
Word up! Don Cannon and the KKZ family are bringing about this fresh mixtape, which drops some exclusives from Wale, Currency, Big Kuntry and others, as well as a bunch of tracks produced by CANNON himself. The Konsole Kingz are a good bunch of dudes, and I actually owe them a few Wii reviews. While I get on that, you should get on this!

DJ Spinna has compiled a dope 2xCD compilation (one mixed, one unmixed) for those of you who remember the post-Disco days, or for you crate-diggers who appreciate the sounds from that era (think Michael Jackson Off The Wall for an idea of the sound). Has some dope elements from the disco scene, but infuses that electro boogie right alongside, you know? Spinna takes it back to 1982 with the block-rockin' mix, and CD2 has a host of gems that no one should be without!

Jern Eye ft. Rakaa Iriscience, Nightclubber Lang & Noelle Scaggs "Champion" (prod. by Illmind): As you should know, Jern Eye's Vision album is on its way in October. Before that drops, though, he will be unleashing The Eye Exam, a mixtape precursor to the LP. This cut, plus 19 other unreleased, rare, and remixed tracks (as well as some from the album) make up the whole of the tape, and if more of it sounds like this track? I cannot wait! Keep an eye peeled for Eye Exam when it drops...
Fink "Dub It All (Sideshow Sees It All In Dub)": Not often that I get some true dub, and after skimming through Dub Echoes recently, I had to post this. "See It All" is the second single from Fink's Sort of Revolution album on Ninja Tune. One thing I did not realize (or maybe I forgot) was that Sideshow is Fink's dub alias, which has been getting tunes signed alongside Appleblim and Martyn. This is a true dub excursion - all moody and groovin' riddim. Fink's "See It All" single drops on October 19th, and features remixes of "See It All" from D*L*I*D and Emika, among other things.
Gripz "Rap Revolution" (prod. by Anno Domini): Here's another lyrical exercise from Gripz. This is very hot off the press - he sent me an e-mail with this like 2 hours ago, and said he finished it not too longer before he sent it. Now here's the kicker: his Poetic Literature mixtape isn't out yet (he says its set to drop on Friday) - this cut is from Poetic Literature Pt. 2! You know how we do. Be on the lookout for that, and vibe out to this.
