Muja Messiah "Bobby's Angels": I hit you guys w/ a Muja tune onThe Four Horsemen, and the homey jon jon sent over this cut that's featured on Mr. Peter Parker's Grind Season Go Getters Vol. 1 mixtape. Love the way this beat flows - my kind of shit.

Here's the latest remix contest courtesy of Diamond Music Group (DMG). This time, DMG pairs up with the Portland-based hip-hop crew, Mesh Pro for the remix of their single "The Weather Man", which will be released as a digi-12" through DMG along with the winning remix. There's a dope prize package for this contest which includes gear courtesy of the good people of IM KING as well as a digital distribution imprint courtesy of DMG. The deadline for this contest is: Friday, April 9th. Clink on either of the links below to download the files & instructions...GOOD LUCK!!
Kayo ft. Quake & CooLEra "Cigar Music (Remix)": @Ritchcraft sent this track over, and it has that mystical/magical flavor to it with the beat. I'm not too familiar with these three, although Quake's worked with cats like Nickel Nine, and these cats represent the Maritimes and St. Lucia. Dope shit; more please.
KEYEL "Girlz": In the third track in a row posted about the fairer sex, I've got an unreleased jawn from Ohio's KEYEL clique. They found inspiration in a Ta'raach beat and this gem was born. No word on what's going on with them in terms of releases, but keep this one on deck for the time being.
Duane Banx ft. 808 "Ride For You": Something about Springtime brings out the sucker for love in all of you niggas. Here's a new cut from Duane Banx, for you ladies or for you niggas who wanna impres your ladies. Should be the subject to those late-night make out sessions in the backseats of your parent's whip.
Marky "Silent Beauty": Here's the final leak from 43 Miles to Markyland, USA, which drops on April 5th and is presented by 2 Dope Boyz and OnSMASH. With Spring officially in the air, this is a tale of love for all of you suckas out there trying to chase some puss for the warm months. Check for the twist in the end on this one.
D-Man "Introduce Myself" [clean \ dirty]: Yeah, we're celebrating four years here at RTD, but we have to look towards the future, and D-Man is part of that future. His forthcoming RTD sponsored mixtape (Back To The Future: Return To The Past) is on the way, and he wants you to know who the fuck he is with this first official single, which he not only spits but also produced. Has a nice mix of old school feel (love that break he used) with fresh talent. Don't let new (to you) niggas like D pass you by!
After a number of leaks, the homey STS drops his Demand More 2 mixtape, which is presented by Tapemasters Inc and DJ Booth. Beats by Emile, Sean C & LV, MPIII, Don Cannon and more, with mic duties shared with Black Thought's Money Making Jam Boys, Cassidy, Sterling Simms and more. Demand more. Hit the jump for a download link and tracklist.
Bonus Beats The Spitzwell Brotherz ft. MJ Verses "Work On The Weekend"
A year after The Magic Number, RTD presents to you The Four Horsemen. This is a compilation of tracks I've received over the last year, thrown together to celebrate rockthedub.com's four-year anniversary. With my enthusiasm for professional wrestling, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson was an easy choice for the cover. Just made sense, the fact that he's holding a prestigious title, showcasing his allegiance. I won't go into all of it, but it's deeper than "oh he referenced this old school wrestler dude", nahmean? Exclusives from StreetMedia and DaVinci, with tracks from Rob Jay, Deal - The Villain, Hans Beck, Internal Quest, Mayhem, MAGr, Ryen David and many more are featured. Hit the jump for the the skinny.
From @DviousMindZ , for @raekwnicewater: "Much like my video for Beats I want to give to Jay Electronica, Here are some beats i would like to give to Rae, Ghost and Meth. If you like what you hear, please RT this to @raekwonicewater. Thank you."
It seems like all of Chitown gets down over some CLASSIC beats on this latest tape form iLLaNOise. Don't believe me? Hit the jump for the tracklist and download links. Damn.
Wordsmith ft. Chubb Rock, Geechi Suede, Grand Daddy IU, Kontact, Black Knight, Junclassic & Whitefolkz "Bridging The Gap (Remix)" (prod. by Strada): Wordsmith's The Vintage Experience dropped today (grab it on iTunes and Amazon), and after hearing some of the tracks and hearing hims peak on them, I'm proud to say I've seen him grow as an artist over the last couple of years. What's even iller is, he's always been like this - hustler, humble, focused - but it's good to see his stock rise, getting major features, and this remix is a proper example of his spot within the Hip-Hop scene. HE is the bridge, connecting the classic Old School to the determined New School torchbearers. If you're looking to support someone, especially someone with drive and who does it for heads of all ages, pick up The Vintage Experience.
After dropping the Spoiler Mix last week, the long-awaited Broken Clocks EP is available NOW from 5 O'Clock Shadowboxers. Tracks like "No Resolution 2" and other assorted tricks and treats (featuring remixes from Zilla Rocca and Small Professor) can be found on this follow-up to The Slow Twilight, which you can cop for $5 via Bandcamp. Hit the jump for a stream link, a limited download-link and the tracklist. All art by the homey Objektiv One.
DaVinci "Gettin' Money In My Sleep" (prod. by Big D): Every year on March 31st, I drop a compilation for free as a way to say "thanks". If you don't know, March 31st is the birthday of this here blog, rockthedub.com, and for all of the support I've gotten from readers, labels, promo teams and friends, I have to do a lil' something to give back. When I get dope exclusives like these two from the SWTBRDS collective, I do nothing but appreciate the position I'm in. DaVinci tows that line between the street and the mind, so of course he gets luchini while his mind's racing, subconsciously. Enjoy these two leaks from The Four Horsemen, my RTD four-year anniversary gift. It features tracks that have dropped on recent projects from the likes of DJ Ambush and Curly Castro, as well as Loose Screwz. Other artists featured on this comp include Deal - The Villain, Rob Jay, Ryen David, Streets Buchanon, Hans Beck, Radius, Muja Messiah, Mayhem and more, including The KhemLab (more on that in the future).
Maybe my boss won't trip if I take a catnap in my cubicle - I'll be more than likely making HIM money! Let's try that now...
Bonus Beats StreetMedia "No. 2 Pencil" (prod. by Ammbush)
Here's a video from Dumhi's The Jungle project, which features tracks from Reef The Lost Cauze, Random, Ethel Cee, Che Grand and more, many of which utilize Ethiopian Jazz samples. I've been vibing off this track with Elucid since I first heard it, and the visuals work very well with the song:
Be on the lookout for the video for "Philly Cousins", the first official single, featuring Reef. That should drop in April.
Vixion "Money In The Bank": Damn. It's good to hear a female who can spit with the best of them, pussy or dick, in the game. Vixion reps that Philly Hip-Hop scene, and has some nasty flow. The first time I heard anything she did was on this cut with Nico The Beast, so it's good to hear her stand solo and kill shit. Her mixtape, Project V.I.X., drops on April 3rd, and there's a mixtape release party at The Khyber in Philly (2nd and Chestnut) on the same day, which will featured Nico and the homey Kane (more info on him soon), so no excuses. Getcha asses out there for some quality Hip-Hop, yadig?
Bonus Beats Vixion "This Is How She Do"
Skitz ft. Rodney P, Kardinal Offishall & Skibadee "Struggla": Here's some tracks for those of you wondering how UK Hip-Hop is sounding nowadays. Skitz album, Sticksman, is set to drop in May, and these cuts make up the first single. Canada x UK x DnB's own Skiba. Righteous.
Bonus Beats Skitz ft. Buggsy "Born Inna System (Prime Cuts Remix)"
I hit you guys with a special leak from Loose Screwz (of Scripts N Screwz) last week, and now the full enchilada is here for you. Hosted by Rip City of the Core DJs, and presented by RTD, Screwz' Satellites mixtape is a dope journey through many different sounds - I love when artists have as varying of an ear as I do. You get tracks like "Hello, Hello", which are on some hybrid shit, with spacey sounds crashing into some fuzzy guitar riffs, or you get "The Sky Is Falling", which is a hectic, fuzzbox future jam. Screwz knows how to flip party-flavored cuts, as well as more introspective fair, without blinking an eye or flinching. It's all real, and it's forward thinking, so its a no-brainer that RTD has to support it. Hit the jump for the tracklist and download links!
STS ft. Black Thought, Truck North & Dice Raw "Ill Street Blues": Black Thought's Money Making Jam Boys link up for this track taken from STS' Demand More 2 mixtape, which drops in conjunction with Tapemasters Inc on March 31st.
Guilty Simpson "Cali Hills" (prod. by Madlib): If you're like me, you can't wait for OJ Simpson, so you need to head on over to Stones Throw and grab the exclusive digital advance. This cut is dedicated to Dilla over a slick Madlib track. Proper dedication stylie. Damn.
Hat tip: Stones Throw.
One of the dopest negroes in town, Dallas Penn, put me onto Das Racist. Well, he didn't send me a track and be like "nigga, you need to get up on these dudes" (||), but during his Internets Podcast, he played "Combination Pizza Hut & Taco Bell", and I was hooked. Odd thing was, I didn't have shit else to rock to from them. Looks like they made this mixtape for me! Well, not really for me, but for negroes like me who want to hear more crazy comedic/dope Hip-Hop noodling (||?). Enjoy?
DeeJay Tone & Has-Lo "Breezin'": Hah! You cratediggers and lovers of grooves should know this sample already. Kind of crazy - its so rainy in the Northeast, but this track feels like proper Spring sunshine. This is taken from the two-track EP that Tone and Has threw up on Bandcamp, and I recommend grabbing it. Not just b/c its free, but there's nothing like vintage samples linking up with dope lyrics inna Hip-Hop meltdown. Stream below.
Why yes, @Numonics' Being Cool Doesn't Pay The Bills was supposed to be dropped today. This is not it. This is an instrumental mix from Numonics, featuring "brand new beats, ones that didn't make the project and a few that you maybe familiar with", to tide you over. The real album should be out later this week. I hope so, anyways.
DOWNLOAD Numonics Being Cool Doesn't Get The Album Out (Instrumental Mix)
My interview x IM KING contest is still up, dropped early. Read it, bitch.
Praverb The Wyse ft. Nametag "Back With Heat" (prod. by Teddy Roxpin): Been a MINUTE since I've heard new new from PViz, and I'm glad he is "back with heat" (see what he/we did there?); he tags up with Nametag, Teddy Rox on the beat and DJ Grazzhoppa on the cuts on this leak from The Gospel Is Free 2, his forthcoming mixtape. Great shit to get you pumped in the AM.
While I applaud honesty in all of its variations, something is just a lil' eerie about this Kat Stacks chick. Just a lil' TOO ho-ish, you feel me? If you're not up on who this new Superhead is, hit up her blog to check out her stories of being a Young Money jumpoff - and Aaron Carter? Or just listen to the tomfoolery contained in this recent video:
Now in a weird chain of events, it looks like her twitter got hacked by some Joe Budden TV cat, but she got herself a new one. SMH. Who knows where this will go from here, but I imagine it won't be pretty.
EDIT Damn her voice is annoying:
Official Street Radio and the Coast 2 Coast fam hooked up for this ill mixtape, from the one and only DJ NoPhrillz, bringing you a stack of tracks from the homey E. Ness, who reps for quality MCs and the city of Philly like no other. Download and full tracklist after the jump.
TreaZon & Numonics "Only The Beginning": Here's a fire track that's not featured on Numonics' Being Cool Doesn't Pay The Bills, although it could've been. TreaZon doesn't fuck around with this one - that 2nd verse is the epitome of "real talk". Love how Numonics flips that shit a few different ways. This one isn't leaving the Blackberry for a bit...
Mario Dones "Easy Street" (prod. by Lazy J): Damn, any friend of Kee & Zee's is a friend of mine, and this Lazy J- produced shit... wow. That beat? Too intense - right up my alley. I'll be rockin' to this one all Spring. Dones reps Pittsburgh, and is trying to get his shit heard outside of that city. Making excellent Hip-Hop like this is pretty much a given. Really visual with his words, flows really nice over this one, as well. I could listen to him going in like this all day. Enjoy.
TheThyrday ft. D. Goode "Escape" (prod. by Centric): The homey Centric sent over this track he produced for this North Carolina trio, taken from Centric's The Alter Ego project. I know I have MANY days where I'm trying to just leave. You can't - real men and women just can't do that - but that's what good art is for, no? Let those feeling out and/or just disappear in some deep sounds. Dig deep into this one, and know that we feel your pain.
Jay-Z & Ritchcraft ft. Sylvia "Never Change": Third official leak from Ritchcraft's The Big Band Blueprint, and this project has some serious legs. Love the samples he's throwing in here - really sounds like some of the shit I wish I could make. I swear, I have songs I keep locked, b/c I don't want someone to jack the idea that I wanna throw down someday. Just need, like, equipment and shit. And time. Lots of time. Anyways, The Big Band Blueprint should be out soon - he said late March/Early April, which could be any day next week lol.
The Union "Wow": It's funny how small of a world there is out there. My boy DJ Iron Mike and I were in the same 5th and 6th grade classes. Fun times - we actually tore that school apart LOL. Anyways, The Union is the third NJ Hip-Hop act who knows him who eventually found there way to knowing me in some capacity, and Boston's own The Union got it rockin'. Their new release, Breaking Even, is filled with working man's fun and fury thrown atop some excellent aural tapestries. It's just that quality shit that's birthed in the Golden Era and keeps that ethos alive in 20whenever. Dig into these, and if you feel them, grab Breaking Even.
Bonus Beats The Union "Breathe"
I hipped you guys to the situation with VH1 Soul possibly being lost due to the new Centric channel back in February. It looks like, thanks to the petition that was floating around, as well as blog posts around the 'Net, some headway is being made in saving the channel. Not a full "VH1 Soul won't be canceled" statement, but the belief is that we're being heard. Keep sending out positive vibes - hopefully this channel goes nowhere. Hell, I HAVE Centric, and it's almost as bad as TV One. If I want to hear MUSIC, or see dope music videos, I have VH1 Soul. The programming on Centric seems like BET with even LESS videos. Just sayin'.

M-Dot, Kore & Strick 9 "The Game's Been Twisted": Been a lil over a month since the last ThrowBack Thursday, but that's OK - we've got you covered with a cut from the EMS crew. Here's a 2006 track from an EMS trifecta, over a Fabolous instrumental. While you're digging this, you might as well grab Strick 9's Pick Ya Poison II, nahmean?
The mighty collaborative effort of Dub MD and DJ Booth present the Idasa Tariq-produced HerStory EP from the homegirl Dominique Larue. She's one of my favorite females pon de mic today, and Tariq's thrown some wicked beats to her, which she knocked out the park. Hit the jump for some info on the project, as well as download links and a full tracklist.
Shawn Chrystopher, El Prez & J the S "Shootin' Cops" (prod. by Numonics): Why yes, I definitely interviewed Numonics, and posted the interview earlier today. To cap off the press, he leaked this No DJ version from Being Cool Doesn't Pay The Bills, which drops next week, and is mixed by DJ RTC. I can't pay the bills, whether I'm cool or not. Need more side hustles. Or rich relatives.
Featuring Kev Choice and Tony Vic:
previous DJ D-Sharp ft. Kev Choice & Tony Vic "Definition Of A Star"
UllNevaNo "I'm The One That Said It": While he's still hard at work on The Color Brown, Ull wanted to send over this track he did to Senor Kaos' "Automatic Classic". He told me that Brown should be in my hands in the next month, so let this tide you over until the main course.
Here's a producer I'm just getting wind of. Koyto is from Spain, but he must be on someone's wish-list: on this album, he's got features from Zilla Rocca, Aloe Blacc, Foul Mouth Jerk, Monsta X, Braille, Declaime and Georgia Anne Muldrow. No, I'm not bullshitting. And the beats are dope. So dope that he released the instrumental versions as well! Hit the jump for the goods.
Keeping it real, Trek Life and J Bizness are two California artists that I've heard of, but not really had a chance to check out, mainly due my ignorance of their music. In my first listens to Rhymes Within Reason EP, I appreciate the Soul that emits through their work. You gotta love a couple of brothers who aren't afraid to express themselves over more organic beats, like "Clap". If you're up on these two, more power to you. If you guys aren't, I recommend giving it a listen.
Styles P "The Street Life": East Coast Radio sent this over with 0 information on its whereabouts. I'm assuming he has a mixtape and/or album dropping that this is a single for, but you know... well, you don't, because I don't. Nice piano-driven track to allow Styles Paniro expound on the only life some niggas know. You know how he does.
I love discovering artists while traveling through what can seem like the murky depths of my inbox. I first got in tune to 6:47 via "As The Disc Rotates", which I dropped back in February. The South Florida MC then dropped his video for "Pointless", softening you nigras up for the full mixtape, Honesty. He keeps it all the way real with his raps, and has his eye on the prize. I co-sign him off that, but when you dig deeper, and feel the real? There's no denying quality.
DOWNLOAD 6:47 Honesty [via Just Call me Six]
Method Man, Ghostface Killah & Raekwon "Gunshowers": I'm not sure how to feel about Wu Massacre. It's like 12/13 tracks, which includes five jawns that have already leaked, and 3 skits. Outside of the sequels ("Criminology 2.5" and "Mef Vs. Chef 2"), there's nothing that really killed me on first listen... except for this one. Bullets rain down in the intro, and Meth's first verse cracks me up ("I'm nice with mics, Cus D'Amato"). I say support the niggas, but I just wish I got more out of it than what feels like a glorified EP than a full-force LP...
EDIT Looks like Rae dropped a mixtape...
Jonny Walker "All Gone" (prod. by seventymHz): Walker's been working on his Chemical Food project for a minute, and a smart Hip-Hop lover would've heard this on Ashley Outrageous' The Playlist Vol. 1 compilation. Jonny worked with seventymHz on the majority of Chemical Food, and its a varied bag - from more laidback bangers like this to some serious social commentary.
