Kayo ft. Quake & CooLEra "Cigar Music (Remix)": @Ritchcraft sent this track over, and it has that mystical/magical flavor to it with the beat. D-Man "Introduce Myself"

D-Man "Introduce Myself" [clean \ dirty]: Yeah, we're celebrating four years here at RTD, but we have to look towards the future, and D-Man is part of that future. His forthcoming RTD sponsored mixtape (Back To The Future: Return To The Past) is on the way, and he wants you to know who the fuck he is with this first official single, which he not only spits but also produced. Has a nice mix of old school feel (love that break he used) with fresh talent. Don't let new (to you) niggas like D pass you by!

RTD Presents The Four Horsemen

A year after The Magic Number, RTD presents to you The Four Horsemen. This is a compilation of tracks I've received over the last year, thrown together to celebrate rockthedub.com's four-year anniversary. With my enthusiasm for professional wrestling, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson was an easy choice for the cover. Just made sense, the fact that he's holding a prestigious title, showcasing his allegiance. I won't go into all of it, but it's deeper than "oh he referenced this old school wrestler dude", nahmean? Exclusives from StreetMedia and DaVinci, with tracks from Rob Jay, Deal - The Villain, Hans Beck, Internal Quest, Mayhem, MAGr, Ryen David and many more are featured. Hit the jump for the the skinny.

Wordsmith "Bridging The Gap (Remix)"

Wordsmith ft. Chubb Rock, Geechi Suede, Grand Daddy IU, Kontact, Black Knight, Junclassic & Whitefolkz "Bridging The Gap (Remix)" (prod. by Strada): Wordsmith's The Vintage Experience dropped today (grab it on iTunes and Amazon), and after hearing some of the tracks and hearing hims peak on them, I'm proud to say I've seen him grow as an artist over the last couple of years. What's even iller is, he's always been like this - hustler, humble, focused - but it's good to see his stock rise, getting major features, and this remix is a proper example of his spot within the Hip-Hop scene. HE is the bridge, connecting the classic Old School to the determined New School torchbearers. If you're looking to support someone, especially someone with drive and who does it for heads of all ages, pick up The Vintage Experience.

DaVinci "Gettin' Money In My Sleep"

DaVinci "Gettin' Money In My Sleep" (prod. by Big D): Every year on March 31st, I drop a compilation for free as a way to say "thanks". If you don't know, March 31st is the birthday of this here blog, rockthedub.com, and for all of the support I've gotten from readers, labels, promo teams and friends, I have to do a lil' something to give back. When I get dope exclusives like these two from the SWTBRDS collective, I do nothing but appreciate the position I'm in. DaVinci tows that line between the street and the mind, so of course he gets luchini while his mind's racing, subconsciously. Enjoy these two leaks from The Four Horsemen, my RTD four-year anniversary gift. It features tracks that have dropped on recent projects from the likes of DJ Ambush and Curly Castro, as well as Loose Screwz. Other artists featured on this comp include Deal - The Villain, Rob Jay, Ryen David, Streets Buchanon, Hans Beck, Radius, Muja Messiah, Mayhem and more, including The KhemLab (more on that in the future).

Maybe my boss won't trip if I take a catnap in my cubicle - I'll be more than likely making HIM money! Let's try that now...

The first time I heard anything she did was on this cut with Nico The Beast, so it's good to hear her stand solo and kill shit. Her mixtape, Project V.I.X., drops on April 3rd, and there's a mixtape release party at The Khyber in Philly (2nd and Chestnut) on the same day, which will featured Nico and the homey Kane (more info on him soon), so no excuses. RTD Presents Loose Screwz Satellites

I hit you guys with a special leak from Loose Screwz (of Scripts N Screwz) last week, and now the full enchilada is here for you. Hosted by Rip City of the Core DJs, and presented by RTD, Screwz' Satellites mixtape is a dope journey through many different sounds - I love when artists have as varying of an ear as I do. You get tracks like "Hello, Hello", which are on some hybrid shit, with spacey sounds crashing into some fuzzy guitar riffs, or you get "The Sky Is Falling", which is a hectic, fuzzbox future jam. Screwz knows how to flip party-flavored cuts, as well as more introspective fair, without blinking an eye or flinching. Save VH1 Soul Update

I hipped you guys to the situation with VH1 Soul possibly being lost due to the new Centric channel back in February. It looks like, thanks to the petition that was floating around, as well as blog posts around the 'Net, some headway is being made in saving the channel. Not a full "VH1 Soul won't be canceled" statement, but the belief is that we're being heard. Keep sending out positive vibes - hopefully this channel goes nowhere. Hell, I HAVE Centric, and it's almost as bad as TV One. If I want to hear MUSIC, or see dope music videos, I have VH1 Soul. The programming on Centric seems like BET with even LESS videos. I love discovering artists while traveling through what can seem like the murky depths of my inbox. I first got in tune to 6:47 via "As The Disc Rotates", which I dropped back in February. This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of March 24, 2010 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary.

This week's commentary this week focused on a range of things, touching base on topics such as the recent passing of the U.S. Health Care Reform Bill and it's pre- and post-fallout on both the political and societal ends (especially in regards to race), the Texas School Board's trying to change the textbooks to cover more "conservative values" (including things such as minimizing mentioning the effects of institutional racism, capitalism, etc. in the country and the world, talking about creationism and so forth) along with some other things here and there.

Photobucket

During this week's show, we had a great interview with one of the independent Hip-Hop's young MCs on the rise, New York City's own Ques (http://www.QuesFire.com & http://www.twitter.com/QuesFire).

Photobucket

Some of the topics we've touched base during the interview included Ques' musical & environmental influences, his Haitian heritage, his long history in the music industry in the independent & mainstream music arenas, what inspires him creatively to make music, his latest project with the Rap2k10 album, viewpoints about the current state of NYC & East Coast Hip-Hop and lack of balance of music the mainstream audience gets exposed to, future plans and lots more!

There are brand new episodes of the Black Agenda Report and Direct EFX segments included in this week's broadcast.
